Fall 2019 - Epcots Twilight

I was planning on visiting WDW from Australia sometime in Jan-Mar 2022 at the tail end of its 50th celebration (assuming they drag it on as long as they did DL's 60th).

But today from all the news I hear from the D23 presentation it seems my favourite park, Epcot, will become yet just another Disney park. Celebrating the achievements of the Disney company rather than humanity itself by cramming as many IP's into the park as possible. Mostly evident in the new, new nighttime show that follows from the new "Epcot Forever" show slated for the end of 2019.

That and there has just been one IP after another added to the park since Bob Chapek stated that Epcot "will stay true to our original vision".

Am I just being paranoid and fearing the worst, or would it be best for an Epcot fan like me to visit in the Fall of 2019 to say farewell to an old friend before things start spiralling?

From my point of view, Epcot's heyday was its early years when all the Future World rides were educational, much more so than now. My all-time favorite theme park was that version of Epcot - which is already long gone.

I hope the folks who designed Rivers of Light aren’t producing this new show.
Say it isn’t so!

Yes, I think the last time I really truly enjoyed Epcot was 1999. Mind you though, I was only 14!

It gave a cynical young me hope for the future... and I think that's why it's always had that special place in my heart.
