What are the chances of getting FOP fastpass on the first day we are at Disney? Are these still super hard to get?

Depends on when you are going. Today was my fast pass day for mid to late January and I could have gotten FOP in the afternoon on my first day. I opted to wait until I could get a morning pass several days later.

Yeah, even right now you can get FoP FPs at 5:25, 5:35, 6:10, and 6:40pm for Friday 1/18, which is 60 days from today.

There seems to have been at least some 60 day availability when I’ve been checking lately.

BUT, that’s January. YMMV based on other times of the year and/or days of the week, holiday windows, etc.

I got one at my 60 day opening window and my first park day is Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve). I was really surprised. It was for the 6pm hour, but I took it. A couple of days later I was able to get my fp time down to 12:20pm. Score! We'll hit FOP and then grab lunch. Best wishes for getting what you want, and if you don't get what you want right away, keep trying!

Really depends on when you are going and the size of your party. Last January I was able to get two one person FP that were separated by about 4 hours. I kept working on moving times and was able to finally get them in the same window. So for solo or a small group it's possible. For a family of 5 its really not...

Depends on how busy of a time of year you are going. Not likely, but it can happen. Keep checking.

I was able to get them for our first night - 1/6. or was that SDD??

a friend of mine got them at 32 days out so keep checking! OR plan for AK later in your trip to up your chances.

I couldnt get one on my initial fp booking day but I checked twice a day while brushing my teeth. About 2 weeks later I was able to get some.

I was not able to get one for the first day of our trip at 60 days. I kept checking and later that week, I got one for around 2pm on the first day of our trip, which is great for us because we are not going to the park until around noon that day.

I'm hoping to get them for our first day - but not holding out too much hope. I've got a backup day planned for later in the week and still am nervous about actually being able to get them. On the bright side, it's certainly always possible - on our last trip we got same day FOP. The passes literally were active about five minutes after we found them - we walked right over to Pandora and were on the ride minutes after scoring the passes - crazy luck that I'm not expecting to repeat. So nothing's impossible and certainly doesn't hurt to keep trying if you don't get them right away.

Always worth checking for same day fastpasses while you are there too. We were leaving MK this past Sunday around 4:30 and while on the monorail to the Poly for dinner scored 2 for 7:30pm. Enjoyed our dinner, had a drink at Trader Sams, then caught the bus to AK for some unplanned fun. Got to ride Everest in the front row at night too after FoP. Fun end to the day.

It absolutely depends on what time of year you are traveling. As all of the above threads indicated, in low season (January after new-year's-week) it's very possible to get it for the first day. We were at WDW in the second half of August (which is more crowded, but still not peak crowds by any means since many kids are back in school) and the earliest there was any FOP availability was at 60+3 late afternoon. And I recall that for Spring Break last year, people were saying they were sold out until 60+5. So it all depends on when you are going.

DD and I went last last January 25-27. We only stayed on site Friday night (the 25th) and we had our option of FOP FP's on the 25th or 26th. There weren't any available when our 60 day window opened, but a week or two later they dropped a whole bunch more so we got them for early in the day on the 26th. Always keep trying. Good luck.
