WHAT Do you have left to do? ( holidays)

You guys have it together! Cat stockings, homemade beeswax candles, posters pasted to wood--we've got a bunch of Martha Stewarts here. I'd be disgusted if I didn't like you all so much.

I'm just crossing my fingers my Amazonian purchases arrive in time.

I did make a batch of improperly-set fudge. I may venture on to Chex Mix if I'm feeling ambitious.

Take boys out to get presents for Mom. And do a grocery shopping trip for everything for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We will probably do a shopping trip on the 26th or 27th to pick up last minute things for my family, as we don't get together with them until the 29th.

Just have to travel. We fly to New Orleans tonight until Christmas Eve for a mini vacation, and then spend Christmas Eve at my in-laws', to begin the holiday rounds the next morning, so everything had to be done prior to work today. As it turns out work (I work in a school) was canceled due to icy roads, but everything is done, and I'm having a lazy day before a long and hectic evening of travel.

My brother never managed to get me a list for his kids so I still have to figure something out for them. I've asked again for either a list or at least places they would like gift cards to. I still need to get something for my wife. I think that is it.

We are leaving for a cruise this afternoon. The ship leaves tomorrow afternoon. Yesterday I did laundry, mailed the Christmas cards and bought/wrapped the stocking stuffers. All the other gifts have been purchased and wrapped for about a week now, and the house was decorated after Thanksgiving.

The only things not done:
Tree is up but not decorated. We waited for our college kids to come home, but they've been out and about. We may just leave it naked with lights this year unless we throw a few things on it right before we open gifts when we get back from the cruise.

Baking didn't happen. DD didn't want everything to go stale while we are gone, so we'll bake when we get home.

Four gifts for DH's family party on the 29th still need to be wrapped. I'll do that when we get home or put them in gift bags.

Alot...but hopefully fingers crossed, I don't have to buy any more gifts except a couple gift cards when I hit the grocery store. I still need to clean, wrap, bake...lol I was going to "finish" decorating but I'm done. If it didnt get put up already this year, its not getting put up. Time serious flies by faster and faster every year.

Grocery shop hopefully we will go soon I got other things I need to be doing. Bake at least 2 more batches of cookies 1 is mixed ready to be baked. Give kitchen a good clean up, give rest of house a lick an a promise. Bake pies and make potato salad on Sunday..box up the cookies an goodies that goes out as gifts.

Might not sound like much but it is to me. I've already told DH if I start buying stuff for holidays goodies an talking about making them if my back is no better than it is now to take me out an shoot me. I used to enjoy the baking an making all the goodies now it is a chore that I honestly have not felt like doing....I trying to use up the stuff I bought for cookies or I'd have stopped already.

All shopping done, finished on Wednesday. All wrapped and ready to go including Santa gifts. Just need to bake cookies, cook food, and stuff stockings.

I have a couple things left to wrap, and I need to do all the grocery shopping for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Yesterday I went shopping for any food/bev/household supplies we needed so we’re now set to stay hunkered down until after Christmas.

Today I’m going to clean the house. Fortunately, it’s in pretty decent shape already so it won’t take too long.

Tomorrow is Holiday Bake-a-thon 2018. I have a freezer full of cookies waiting to be baked. I have no idea how long it’ll take to get through them all so I’ve left the whole day open for it.

Sunday is Christmas with the in-laws. My DH will need to make mashed potatoes for that. I’ll remind him of that today.

We should be in good shape by Christmas Eve. I have a bread and a couple of pastries in the freezer that I’ll bake during the day and by the evening we’ll be into our festivities. Before bed, I’ll add the gifts that aren’t getting wrapped to the pile under the tree and fill my DS’s stocking.

Christmas Day is ready to go — all foods are heat & eat so only minimal effort needed, leaving us free to enjoy the day.

Somewhere between now and then I need to wrap two last minute gift additions. Three, if the one I ordered six weeks ago manages to ship in time, but it’s not looking promising.

Ugh, all of the things. We’ve spent 2 of the last 3 weekends moving so the holidays have taken a backseat this year. Need to finish shopping and wrap. And grocery shop for Christmas Eve/morning meals. If I can get those things done, we’ll call it a win. Thankful there’s another full weekend before the holiday! I was just happy we were able to get a tree up in the new house.

On the upside, the new house is still fairly clean and organized since we just moved in, and much of our smaller stuff is STILL at the old house.

Already looking forward to a much calmer holiday season next year....

I still need to shop and finalize menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, ugh.
Of course prep and cook it all.
re-straighten up the house for the umpteenth time ...for company.
I’ve been too busy enjoying all the holiday happenings this time of year to get the food stuff done, lol.
Wishing you all a Joyous and Blessed Holiday... whichever one you/rs celebrate!

We've been so busy this year that everything will be completed at the last possible minute.

Since we're going out of town this weekend we won't be finishing shopping, wrapping, and groceries until Christmas Eve. But that's ok, we have a low key holiday with just our family.

I just need to food shop and prep, our big celebration is on Sunday the 23rd. I plan to roll out of bed early tomorrow to hit the grocery store before everyone else. I'm planning on baking one batch of cut-out cookies tomorrow as well, but then let the little ones who will be here Sunday decorate them for an activity.

Christmas Eve day is bowling, this will be the 4th year in a row we've done it and the kids (teens) enjoy it a lot. Christmas Day will be just us and DD, Step-son will be with his mom. Last year we went to a hibachi steakhouse for Christmas Day dinner and may do so again this year.

Christmas cards ✅

Only two gifts left to wrap. One is quite large and I might need DH’s help. The other I’m still waiting on part of it. *Should* be here today but it’s Mail Innovations so it’s anyone’s guess when it will actually get here. I decided to have DH put together two items to set out unwrapped. He says he will but I’m already on the hunt for a screwdriver.

The last 2 days have been very productive for me so while I still have a bunch to do, the list is looking better. Tomorrow I am planning to clean the main floor of my house. We host both sides of my and DH’s family for Christmas dinner. I am hoping that the house will stay relatively clean and I will just have to “touch up” either Monday or Tuesday. I then have some baking to do. I had done some for a family party last weekend, but most of those are gone. Some, but not all, of the dough is made. I will finish baking Sunday and start some of the food prep—brining the turkey, making the cranberry sauce, prepping anything that can be done ahead for Monday and Tuesday. Christmas Eve is at my parents, but my sisters and I take most of the food. My dishes for that are a shrimp platter, artichoke dip, nachos and cheese and a cookie tray. For Christmas morning we will have monkey bread, sausage balls and fruit. For dinner that night I will make ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli casserole and rolls. My sisters will bring some sides. I will have more cookies and a trifle for dessert. A lot of that can be done ahead. Basically I will try to prepare much of Monday’s Food on Sunday and Tuesday’s food on Monday.

Luckily the rest of my house is clean, gifts are bought and wrapped (except 1 thing for youngest DD, supposed to come Monday), cards are mailed, food shopping is done and decorating is mostly done.

Whew! I love the holidays but they are so exhausting!
