SW:GE opening guess Dec 4 - DVC related

I don't mind competing at 11 months. Not even having a shot because they are pulled prior to 11 months and sent to cash bookings doesn't seem right...though there's probably something somewhere that says they can do as they please.
Again my theory that they’re pushing the limits because THEY know this is when Star Wars opens and they’re planning on booking every possible in-house room that they can get their fingers on.

I have confirmation from Compliance and Legal they can not. They are subject to the same exact rules as us as there isn’t class of owners for home resort booking.

It's a pretty nice deal for DVC. Book the lowest point rooms for themselves at the lowest point times - oh, that they made the decision to lower the point requirements on for 2019. And just put them out for high cash CRO prices to stay at a popular December location. :sad2:

So this thread reminded me to check CRO and if DVC has put any Value rooms on their. I've been checking since they disappeared from our inventory access as I was suspicious of some shenanigans (to put it nicely) and Jambo had nothing showing up at 11 months which was pretty strange.

And guess what - they've turned over Value studio and 1BR to CRO. I've check Dec 5-8th - available. December 9-15th - both studio and 1BR and I know they were not available for member booking at 11 months.

The Value rooms are available Dec 3-17th - all dates that were blocked from members to reserve on first come first served.

What a bunch of dirt bags!

I’m in Central Time so 23:01 is just after midnight Eastern.

The booking calendar has rolled over to the next day even though you can’t book until 8 am.

The first opportunity for a walker to drop the 17th and add the 24th would be 8 hours from now.

And yet. The 24th populated empty, just like every value studio day has since the 3rd. NOBODY, even a walker, is allowed to book this room until 8am. Except, there are none available to book.

They’re all gone before the booking window ever opens for anybody.

I’ve contacted and emailed DVC that exact sentiment and said not even Disney could take them per the POS because they would be in violation then. As they own the exact same points as everyone else. I sent them a screenshot of it too. We shall see the response that I get. I was told by legal and compliance on another issue that all points “Mickey” owns are the same as every other owner and follow the exact same rules.

I did highlight to them I don’t believe that all 8 dedicated studios or 10 2 bedroom lockoffs were taken out for maintenance. I even told them I would check for it on the CRO. I think we should look and keep watching if the night of 12/24 eventually shows up on there.

If this is what they have done here, and I am having a hard time explaining it another way, this really irritates me. It also really makes me question everything else. If they will bend rules in one place who's to say they won't elsewhere. Maybe someone has another interpretation of this data. If not, I think I am going to write a letter about this as well. Really unacceptable and who knows how much of this they have done with other larger category inventory. It's only obvious here due to the small number of units. Hoping there is another explanation...

Ok but I just checked SSR and there are still studios. Has anyone else checked their home resort?

I'm sure they didn't book every room everywhere, but as was pointed out, they butted in line to book the cheapest, and most desirable, rooms on property. They then went and flipped them for $42 per point.
They are stealing that opportunity from AKV owners who either could have stayed there themselves, or could have rented it for a similar price.
With the photographic evidence both showing that they are lying about refurbishing and that they are grabbing them before anyone else has a chance, I say they need to open up the same amount of AKL hotel rooms and offer them to AKV owners for free in a lottery.

Ok, but wouldn't the most desirable rooms be walking distance to DHS? So if this were related to SW, then it would be happening at Beach Club and BW. Has anyone there confirmed?

Most desirable in terms of getting a room for the lowest price possible.
I will give you that it does seem odd that there are many BWV standard view studios available during that time, though. Those don't cost much more and have the most desirable location in terms of walking distance.

I suppose it could still be a computer glitch. I mentioned on another thread that I believe that happened in August. It was the same type of thing happening now and all of a sudden one day there was full availability over the dates that had been gone, and had been unbookable, the same way we are seeing here now. I suppose it is possible that Disney is seeing availability on their end and making those available for cash...

They don’t care about compliance or legal. They are counting on the fact that the membership is too stupid or lazy to do anything about it, or members attack & shame anyone who dares speak out. They are correct.

If this is all true this may led to a class action law suit. As an AKV this really pisses me off. I just wish I was a lawyer or knew one whod contact Disney.

This is where their shady practices over the past month are hurting them. If they had been up front about the 2020 points change, price increase, and/or resale restriction, members would probably be willing to see this as a flaw or glitch.
However, when they make claims like "1 bedrooms book up much quicker than 2 bedrooms", without any evidence to back it up, then say "these rooms must be being refurbished" and then sell them, both claims come of looking like lies.

If it truly is dishonesty and bending rules then this really is unacceptable. I still think it could be a glitch though and the problem being compounded by the 'right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing'...
