So happy to hear Sanna was a success for you all and you got a little Disney in. Even if we tend to really only like 2-3 of the sauces, I still like to try them all each time even if I know what they taste like. Makes no sense, but its like your very own tasting menu.

Sorry the burgers were a bit of a bust, but good for you for getting out of the traditional bubbles and trying new things.

Yes! Ambiance isn't everything, but it's important to me. I rarely like the sports bar vibe, I usually just end up feeling overwhelmed and out of place

Me too!

Bummer Teak didn't live up to its hype. Your burger did look really good, but impossible to eat! And I've never really understood that - like don't places want you to be able to enjoy it as a burger is meant to be enjoyed? :confused3

Yes! I've always thought burgers you can't pick up or eat by biting are kind of gimmicky, right? Like it's about having a giant burger not one that you can really eat? Like obviously you can still eat it but not all together which kind of defeats the purpose of getting anything on it.

I tried that garlic pickle one once and never again :rotfl: it did not taste like what it sounded like at all.

(Now that's what a good chocolate chip cookie looks like :hyper:).
That gif looks soooo yummy!

I actually prefer chocolate chip cookies with only a few chips - let me have some bites with just the dough! I know, I'm weird! But melty chocolate is the best way to go!

I agree! Cookies are my favorite food in all the world... that said, when I first saw the giant chocolate chip-covered cookie in the box, it didn't look all that appealing. And I LOVE chocolate in almost any form. But it just seemed like it would be hard to eat. So I agree on your comments about gimmicky. Can't people just stick to the basics in their food making sometimes!? :confused3  I'm glad you had another successful breakfast though! :thumbsup2

Yes I love cookies! But I have so much trouble finding really good ones  Yeah, I love chocolate too, but it's just too much, I was kind of surprised at the look of them and the size. I felt like I had seen a picture before, but didn't realize they were that big.

The ingredients sound intriguing. It looks delicious.

Normally I wouldn't get only a 6 oz, but this was perfect because I wasn't super hungry, and wanted to get a side too. I got my standard Bernaise sauce with it, and I was pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews of the food. I think this was the second best steak I had this trip after Shula's.
I love filets, that looks really good. When I'm not very hungry a 6 oz is a perfect size.

OMG these look delicious. I would probably go here just for there lol. I've never been before. The few times I've walked by the music was really loud. Do you know if the loud music increases as the night goes on? Is it ever not noisy?

We didn't have the most attentive server
When I first read this I thought it said attractive lol and was like aw poor guy.

That bread at STK looks amazing!!!! But sourdough and blue cheese are two of my favorites.

Looks like your streaks and sides were really good too. STK isn't on my radar at all as I thought it was more like a night club, but good to know its a great last minute option.

Red Chile Sambal

My favorite!! Matt likes it too but always gives me most of it b/c he likes the sweeter sauces that I don't care for

Josh liked a lot of different ones, but I know his favorite is red chilie sambal.

Josh has good taste in sauces!!

We've always ordered it with all the choices, but I can see how it's a pain for people who don't want all of them, or don't like all of them.

(Does anyone else hate when that happens? People will rave about the food somewhere and you'll see a really delicious looking menu, but when you turn up you realize it's more of a pub/sports bar?)

Yes, ugh!! because then I feel like I might as well have gone to a chain. We have some really good burger places here, so I get so judgey when I go somewhere that's raved about. We're talking about going to Dallas for a long weekend (it's driveable, about six hours from us) over the summer, and I found a place called Rodeo Goat (why??) that's supposed to be good...it's on my list but I think it's going to have the same vibe as Teak.

I thought my burger was overcooked, and not exactly the best burger I've ever had. The fries were alright, but nothing too special.

That is sad, because it looks good! Most of the local burger places are so messy I have to cut them up. But if I'm being honest, the only burgers I don't cut up are fast food ones, LOL!! Maybe I just don't know how to eat neatly?? That's probably the case, LOL!! I always feel like I have sauce all over me and get very self conscious when eating a burger. I'm weird, but I own it :rotfl::rotfl:

I LOVE chocolate covered oreos.:lovestruc

Ok, so Josh and I can eat the red chili sambal while you and Matt are eating oreos. Oreos are his favorite thing ever, so adding chocolate just makes it even better.

That looks SO GOOD. I'd have gone back again, too!! We found a place in northern CA, in a town called Trinidad, called The Lighthouse Grill. I found it on TripAdvisor, and we ate there twice. I crave it all the time and it makes me so sad it's so far away.

(this was last year sometime, not sure if they still do),

They do! I saw someone with one on Instagram just a couple days ago.

It's so disappointing to me when desserts don't measure up!!

I like chocolate chip cookies, but they're not my favorite. I have one particular recipe that I love so much, though. So now all chocolate chip cookies have to live up to it...and most fail!

For bread service they brought over the sourdough bread with bleu cheese butter and I think it was a pesto dipping oil.

Oh yum!! Anything with blue cheese I pretty much automatically love, though

I should not read these reviews before dinner, I'm so hungry now!!

Avocado Bruschetta
Fresh avocado, fried avocado, avocado crema, tomatoes, balsamic reduction, toasted ciabatta

YUMMMM!!!

OMG, the plates are as big as you are

He loves their gluten free alfredo and always get it when we're there.

That's awesome they have GF pasta and he can order this. Even better that's it good enough he wants to get it every time!

Now I didn't realize immediately and instead of saying "that milkshake is pouring onto your pants", Josh said "the milkshake is about to spill on you" :rotfl: So when I stopped drinking it I thought I had prevented it from spilling but no it was already all over me. I was mainly able to get it off my sweatshirt and mostly off my pants though part of my pants did still feel a little sticky when it dried.

Oh no!!!!

but they told him they were out of coffee beans.

Um, what??

This place always looks so fun when you review it. Minus the milkshake crisis this time around!!

I had the red velvet shake when I went to Toothsome and really liked it. It had the sour cream ice cream. I took the cupcake off and saved it for later. Sorry you had a spillage problem ! I tried the totchos - yum - and a sandwich I can’t remember now maybe a chicken blt ? Whatever it was I liked it. I really liked the atmosphere and food . Will definitely go back

Forgot to comment on STK. I am like you and worried about the what I would call a nightclub like atmosphere I have heard about it. We have never been because of it. Maybe we will give it a try some time ?

We've been to Toothsome many times since it's opened, but we hadn't gone since our amazing Dismeet in 2017 during our HHN weekend,
Oh that's right! What a great memory :goodvibes

Avocado Bruschetta
Fresh avocado, fried avocado, avocado crema, tomatoes, balsamic reduction, toasted ciabatta

(They really missed out on being fancy and calling it "avocado 3 ways" or something).
Wow, that looked incredible. But you're so right - they really missed out on that fanciness opportunity ::yes::

I didn't expect this at all, but she did remove it from our final bill, which I thought was incredibly kind since it was in no way the restaurant's fault I hadn't liked it.
That's awesome! I was surprised when you said lemony tang - that would have turned me off of it immediately.

Finally I also got a milkshake:

Brownie
Dutch chocolate ice cream, brownie, milk chocolate swirl
OMG this looks insanely good! But... as you soon confirmed - incredibly difficult to eat!

Now I didn't realize immediately and instead of saying "that milkshake is pouring onto your pants", Josh said "the milkshake is about to spill on you" :rotfl:
:scared1: :rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sounds like that would be a great name. I'm a huge avocado lover too and this look amazing!!!!

Sorry to hear your flatbread was such a bust, though this photo is everything!

Glad to hear Josh was able to get some pasta in. I'm sure its a rare treat for him.

I cannot get over these milkshakes. Casey would never want to eat anywhere else if we introduced these to her.

Oh no!!!!!!! You'd think they would consider how someone could eat this in concocting these monstrosities.

To our disappointment there is no longer a cheaper option with only 3 dipping sauces (there's only like 1 I really like so we never feel the need to get that many).
That's a bummer. My problem is I can't remember which ones I liked back in September now, so I'll have to try them all again - except the garlic pickle.
We decided to split one because last time we got one each and it was too much food.
I convinced Zack of this for next time
one restaurant we went to locally said the fries weren't GF because they had accidentally contaminated the GF fryer so they gave him steak...and potato chips :sad2:
Whattttt.
So this is something I don't think we've ever done on a trip, but we loved Another Broken Egg so much when we went there on Sun that we decided to go back.
And it still looks delicious!
I could really only eat half of one in the car because it was so big and chocolate-y. I did kind of imagine these warm gooey chocolate chip cookies when I heard they had the best cookies, but they weren't really warm at all. I'm going to assume because the chocolate would melt. I didn't want to judge them then though because I wasn't really too hungry and was mostly getting them to eat at another time.
Booo. That is a gimicky cookie. Zack will be appalled when I show him, he only puts in like half the chocolate chips the recipe calls for anyways.
The mixed reviews and loud music made me wonder if we'd like the place, but it didn't turn out to be too bad. Their steaks were good, there was a lot of side choices, and if I had been hungry enough for dessert they had a lot of good looking options there too. We didn't have the most attentive server (he would disappear for long amounts of time), but service wasn't terrible. All in all we had a good meal at STK, and I would eat there again in the future.
Like hearing your review. I feel like all I've heard is loud music and bad service here. But the plates make me laugh, for some reason they just seem like super big plates for your steak, compared to Shula's.
I should also mention that of the many times I've gone there I've never absolutely loved my entree, but I have enjoyed the milkshakes and apps, so I keep trying different entrees.
Same. I had the meatloaf back in September which was actually really good. We went um, last Friday... :D I got Zack concert tickets for Billy Joel for Christmas, but he wasn't going to be around Denver... but he was in Orlando on the 11th! I had hotel and flight points, and figured we have Disney and Uni APs, so we made a long weekend of it. So we went to Toothsome after the concert... got there at midnight because we had uber troubles :sad2: We should have been there closer to 11pm really. I had the May Contain Bacon burger which was okay, butttt I was rooting for Cowfish for that peanut butter burger so I was a bit biased.
Fettuccine Alfredo
GF The classic - parmigiano reggiano w/chicken
This is all Zack will get here, he feels it's the best alfredo ever :rotfl:
Brownie
Dutch chocolate ice cream, brownie, milk chocolate swirl
I've been tempted to order this one but now I think I'll for sure stick to the nutella one!
Also a final weird thing at the end of our meal was Josh wanted to order a coffee, but they told him they were out of coffee beans.
:confused3:confused3:confused3
