Ha! I was only eight . That's the first live-on-tv performance I remember, but Queen is till the best. For me, I'm old enough to remember the Beatles on the Ed Sulivan show, when I was a "teenybopper" of 12, so I'd have to say that one.
It was worse than lip syncing. They were also synching to another singer.Any performance by Milli Vanilli, especially the MTV Club performance in 1989 was so good vocally you'd swear it was lip-synched... Oh wait, they were.
It was worse than lip syncing. They were also synching to another singer.
A few that stand out for me as memorable, for various reasons:
- Whitney Houston singing The Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl
- Lady Gaga’s rendition of The Sound of Music at the Academy Awards
- Sonny and Cher reunited in the late 80’s on David Letterman’s show singing I Got You Babe
That's the video in my earlier post. I agree completely.Love earlier responses. I would add Heart at the Kennedy Center honors for Led Zeppelin. They did an amazing rendition of “Stairway to Heaven “.
You stole my answer.
Always surprised to see that Billie Jean performance brought up. I'm a big fan of MJ in those days, but that performance was 100% lip synced.
I didn’t know that, however, it’s not about the singing, it’s all about the dance moves. First time he did the moonwalk on stage.
See, to me, it should be all about the singing. Dancing was great, but as a fan of music, I feel cheated by lip syncing.
