You'd know if it did. The car gets awfully quiet and stays quiet while the update takes place.

my 2011 Escape never updated. My 2018 Escape seems to update all the time

I just got a 2019 Escape a few days before Christmas and seem to have gotten an update at least once a week since then. I don’t remember my 2016 Kia updating that often

2017 Ford Flex....probably get one a week, right as I leave for work in the morning.

Seems like Ford is installing the cheap radios. Grr

My last car was 2016 Escape. Now, it’s happening more on the Edge.

I've never experienced an update over many years of use.

So is it like you are not getting signal? I will get in the car and it is silent but when I switch it to FM I hear the radio. I always wondered why that happened and assumed I was getting no signal or something was wrong with the system.

Yes, it is silent. It can last anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes or so. Some radios will actually say "Updating" and give a % complete.

2018 Lincoln MKX, never noticed a update to the radio, also, 2008 Chevy Silverado, have never noticed one to that either.

I've had XM/Sirius for over 10 years and never noticed an update in any of our vehicles.

Yes, this was happening on a daily basis for me. 2014 Ford Escape! It seems to have stopped. So annoying.
