Least Favorite Disney Resort in Each Category

Value - All Star Sports. Been there during a cheer competition and said "never again". (POP is my favorite value)
Moderate - I've only stayed at Coronado and have loved it! CBR appeals to me the least though.
Deluxe - CR. I've never stayed there before, but have visited and was not a fan. Cannot justify the price and MK is my least favorite Disney park so the close proximity means nothing to me. I have stayed at AKL and will probably not stay there again because of the dark rooms, long hallways, far proximity to parks, and small/dated rooms. Though I think the resort is beautiful and unique, it wasn't my favorite.

Fun thread. Here are mine.

Value: Only stayed at All Star Music so I guess it's the winner by default. LOL

Moderate: CBR - been awhile since I stayed there and I certainly didn't dislike it but out of the other three, it's my least favorite. Haven't been since the updates so I could change my mind if I ever get around to trying it again. I like POR and POFQ because of the beautiful layout but also because of the ease of getting to Disney Springs. CSR I like because of the pool and theming and it has a deluxe feel to me.

Deluxe: Out of this category I've stayed at the following: AKL, Poly, CR, YC, BC, GF. Don't think I'm nuts but I'd say my least favorite if I had to pick was GF. I certainly didn't not like it and in reality I can say that none of these were bad. Ever. Perhaps the decor at GF was least appealing to me.

Home Away from Home: Only stayed at Old Key West and BC Villas. Love them both - but out of those OKW is least favorite simply due to location.

Values - I don't do values at all - it's just me.

Moderate - CBR - not much at the resort appealed to me at all (two visits). Although I've enjoyed the other moderates.

Deluxe - Poly - Over-hyped, not my cup of tea.

Least favorite deluxe = Contemporary
I am a huge fan of froufrou so the decor there is just way too plain for me. I am also terrified of heights.
Have not stayed at Values or Moderates yet.

Value - All star (any)

Moderate - CBR

Deluxe - (Toss up) Beach Club/Yacht Club and /or Contemporary

LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!!!!!

Value - A.S. Music! Hated it. Horrible narrow layout, making it a very far walk from the back buildings. Plus, I experienced bed bugs at that resort. (Sports & Pop are my faves...love the compact layout of sports).

Mod - This is tough, because i like them all. I'd have to say POFQ is the least visually appealing, but it wins for being a small resort. CBR was great but its too big and spread out.

Deluxe - Saratoga Springs, not a fan AT ALL.
Also, Poly, overhyped plus its dark and just not my cup of tea.
GF - The decor in some of the rooms are kind of ugly to be honest.

Value - All star Sports. The theming did not appeal to us and the rooms are so outdated. The full size beds were not comfy for our family.

Mods - I don’t have a LF mod yet... I think k Coronado is beautiful but I haven’t wanted to stay there because of the convention crowds and the layout.

Deluxe - I have absolutely no interest in staying at the grand Floridian. We have visited but it’s just not our style.

Value: AS Sports. Just no. Between the pool, the school groups, the food court, potentially having to share the bus with the other All Stars, and the decor, I'd rather stay at the Best Western in Disney Springs.

Moderate: probably CBR. While I've heard great things about the refurb, it doesn't negate how sprawling the resort is. I'm not saying it's bad, but I really like the moderate resorts and something had to make the list.

Deluxe: GF. I like the lobby and I'm sure the rooms are nice. But I can't imagine relaxing at a place that feels like it's my (nonexistent) rich grandmother-in-law's house.

DVC: SSR. Maybe it's because I did my college program here. But even if I didn't it feels like a regular apartment complex. OKW has much better theming if you want a dedicated DVC resort.

Value : any of them are my last favorite? I've stayed at AS Sports for a quick mom's only trip with my best friend. Worked ok for that purpose I suppose We've also done AS Movies for one night with our family of 4 and w weren't overly impressed. My friends room had boogers smeared on the wall. Lol. I would rather stay off site than in a value.

Mod : favorite is CSR, least favorite is CBR. We tried the bus instead of the rental car once from CBR and opted to not do that again given the amount of stops. I also like having one bigger, grander building for check in and QS. Stayed at POR and it was OK.

Deluxe: I love all of them because I am a princess :bride: and the rooms and resorts are great. BCV is my last favorite strictly because of the extremely perfumey smell. BWV is great because of the location, AKV has alot to offer with the animals and nice pools, Poly because .... It's the Polynesian!, BLT is my last favorite resort wise (rooms have not held up well and are in need of a refurb IMHO) but one of the best location wise. I haven't stayed at GFV, YC, OKW, or SSR ..... Yet!

I dislike all the values equally, with the exception of AOA suite. CBR for moderate and BC for Deluxe.

Value: All Star Sports ...the theming, tiny rooms, and hard beds....not for me, once was enough

Moderate: I’ve only stayed at both Port Orleans Resorts and love both... never selected Caribbean Beach because it’s so huge, and Coronado is so “convention oriented” instead of Disney vacation oriented

Deluxe: I have only stayed at a couple so far and they were great....surely no Deluxe is bad!

Value: All Star Sports i guess. I always hated the jocks in high school :D
Moderate: Coronado (not bad but New Orleans and Pirates are better theming)
Deluxe: Polynesian. Not exotic enough for me to justify the price.

Obviously everyone has their favorite Disney Resorts that they like to book everytime. But a lot of us regulars have certain resorts that we say "Never Again." Might be useful to first timers and / or interesting to see everyones least favorite resorts. Try to give a reason why its on the bottom.

Ill start off:

Value: All Star Sports (have yet to try a value resort so I can only base this off of what I've read). But it seems this particular resort has the most tour groups and TBH not a fan of the theme (even though I enjoy sports). I am trying All Star Movies next trip though for 1 night.

Moderate: Port Orleans Riverside. I would have said CBR until I recently just stayed there. It didnt look that great but it was FANTASTIC. POR was long walks to the lobby and the busses took forever. Was not a fan (although I do like POFQ).

Deluxe: Animal Kingdom Lodge. While the property is beautiful. Rooms are TINY, Hallways are LONG (literally like 10 minute walk) depending on room location. Animals are hit or miss and the novelty wears off pretty quick. You can see many more animals from the Safari at Animal Kingdom park. All transportation is by BUS and its not near anything else but Animal Kingdom Park. I found the hotel to be way OVERPRICED for what you get and would urge others to AVOID. For a very similar hotel built by same developer try WL.

Love your avatar ❤️

I love the feel of AKL but the rooms are terrible. Very dark, cramped, comparable to an $80/night room anywhere else. We only book it for a 1 or 2 night stay before a longer stay elsewhere but now with split stays no longer counting as one stay for FP purposes, I'm not sure we'll stay there again. We were once upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite for a one night stay - that was a great room(s), lots of light and space, but at roughly $1k/night rack rate not one we'd stay in if we had to pay for it ourselves.

Value - All stars. Too loud and too many people. Way too small rooms.

Mod - CBR although I’ve never stayed there. I have visited them all but CBR...it just does not appeal to me whatsoever. Favorite of all resorts and not just Mods is POFQ. It is so homey and we have such a wonderful time there. Love how small it is.

Deluxe - Beach Club. It was so loud and the walls were paper thin. Also disliked the no quick service like someone prior mentioned. It just didn’t have a good vibe. Our favorite is GF. So so relaxing and had such a wonderful time! Trying out WL (love to visit) and Boardwalk this time. Hopefully all goes well!

My least favorite by far is SSR. It's a gorgeous resort but it has no Disney magic. Zero. SSR has the best resort QS, although it's a little awkwardly located in the gift shop.

Would you rather stay at Poly or Boardwalk for 4 nights? I am not impressed with pics of Boardwalk pool and heard that they don't check Magic Bands and it is overrun by people who are not staying on site.

It depends on what park you will spend the most time in. Neither Poly nor BW are in my top three, but I would pick Boardwalk. There’s a lot to do at night in that area. The pool is fun; the clown slide is actually awesome. I don’t really care for the Poly. It feels really dark to me, and talk about a busy pool! But, if you’re planning to spend the bulk of your time at MK, you really can’t beat the convenience.

We haven't stayed at all of them either but we're always open to a new resort :)
Value: AS Sports, not a sporty person so not really feeling the theme
Mod: CBR, wanted to love it but didn't really get a good feel from it. Stepping around a passed out drunk guest was the final deal breaker lol. No desire to go back
Deluxe/Villa: Grand Floridian, looks pretty but the snob thing :) we go there to eat
