Spending one day in Orlando-how to Disney-fy it?

We're flying in and out of Orlando but will be staying in Naples during our holiday. One day either end will be spent in Orlando.
My partner does not agree to get 1-day tickets but is generally happy to mooch around Disney Springs for the Day.

Last time we had lunch at Earl of Sandwich, let our daughter play in the fountains and then took the boat over to POFQ where we had a Beignet Sundae, then took the leisurely boat-ride back to Disney Springs where we had parked...a day enjoyed by all.

So, either around the hotels and/or Disney Springs, how would you spend a the perfect non park day?
Our kids are 5 and 1.5

Take a bus From Disney Springs & go to The Grand Floridian Hotel

Then ( A ) Go through Hotel & go to The Boat Dock & take the Free boat trips AND then do ( B )

( B ) Go to the Monorail Station , First Floor , & do Round Tour of Monorail & the Epcot Line .

Take bus back to Disney Springs.

Take bus from Disney Springs ....... Go to The BoardWalk Hotel

Go Through Hotel & down to the Lake .

Then Take VARIOUS free boat trips ( Return )

They Usually have Entertainers doing their stuff on the quayside

ALL FREE

Totally agree. We had a day on New Year's Eve when we had no park tickets and had a fantastic day doing just that (time of year meant we could do a Christmas Tree trail). We were staying at AOA and took the bus from there to MK where we got on the monorail to Poly. Tonga Toast for breakfast then the rest of the monorail resorts. Didn't do the monorail to Epcot but got the boat from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge then a bus to Studios followed by boats to Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club then the bus back to Disney Springs where we had dinner. Lovely day that cost us a QS meal and a dinner and was so much more relaxing than the parks at that time of the year.

Agree with all the above.

Another option would be to get the boat from Port Orleans down to Disney Springs at the end of the day.

Thanks everyone.

We will be needing lunch(hangry kids are no fun) so I think the Quick Service at the Poly has won me over the most.

So, my plan would be to bus it to the monorail resorts, take a loop on the monorail, have lunch at the poly. Go back to the TTC and take the Epcot loop.
Then make it back to Disney Springs. Think the wife will have had enough of Disney by then ;-)

One thing you could add in is a visit to the Tri Circle ranch at Fort Wilderness. You can get the boat from the contemporary or MK and look at the horses, the kids can even take a short pony ride. There is a beach and a small park where they can let off a bit of steam for a bit.

Thank you so much. I will put that on my list of possible things to do depending on what my daughter will say as she'd be the one riding :)
My last trip was in 2012 so it's been a good while since I did research
