Sell me on DAH

I wasn’t planning on any extras this trip until my sister messaged me about new dates. We’ve done MNSSHP in the past. Are these like that? Is it worth the extr cost? Trip is planned As 6 park days and we do have park hoppers. The MK hours are the night we arrive. Arriving at MCO at 5:50pm and staying at WL. We could also do the HS ones the following evening. My youngest DD loves Toys Story and oldest DD loves MK. Is one better than the other? Kids are 11 & 14. TIA.

DAH are different from MNSSHP and MVMCP for one big reason; the number of tickets is actually very limited. Even though MNSSHP and MVMCP are ticket only events, it doesn't often feel like it with the number of people that are there. The DAH though truly is limited, and you can feel that in the parks. There aren't any special shows or parades or anything. The true benefit of going to a DAH is the reduced number of people, which causes most all of the rides to be walk-ons. Now, I can't really advice is one is worth your money more than another one. I suppose that depends on which rides you like the most. But DAH is the best way to enjoy the rides without waiting. You'll also hear all kinds of opinions on if it is worth it or not. You don't get all that long in the park considering what you're paying, but again, you did get vastly reduced crowds.

I personally would rather do the MK than HS, as HS just doesn't have all that many rides that interest me right now. But that's just me.

We did the MK one about a year ago and really enjoyed it. It was not a sell out crowd the streets were almost empty. We rode so much and loved the "free" snacks. My kids were 11 and 12 at the time. The only issue was that my daughter is not a night owl (age 12) and it was hard for her to stay up. About 10:30 she started asking to leave - not because she wasn't having fun but because she was tired. We toughed it out until about midnight but she wasn't happy and the next morning was rough for us all. Would I do it again? Yes, but maybe with a different touring plan the day of with some rest built in.

I think it is worth the extra $$. That being said, I would NOT want to do it on arrival day. You would be so tired the next morning and somewhat "spoiled" by the low crowds from the night before.

We just did MK DAH on 3/21 during a busy Spring Break week. My husband wasn't even going on this trip with us, but when he heard about DAH and that I'd gotten tickets for myself and son, he decided he wanted to fly down mid week and join us. We got to MK around 7:30 and did Buzz ride, Philharmagic, then found spot for HEA. After HEA we went over to Haunted Mansion. Then it was 10:02 as entering frontier land and DAH had officially started, so we grabbed some snacks/drinks and headed over to Splash Mtn. Rode Splash, Big Thunder, and then on to Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and our son rode Aladdin carpets 2x. Stopped for more snacks/drinks and on to 7DMT, which did have a posted 30 min wait but was more like 20. When we got off the ride que was a lot more full and still reading 30 mins. We headed over to Space Mtn and rode it 2x back to back....debated a third, but son wanted to do People Mover. It looked like it was not running. We grabbed another snack/drink and noticed them evacuating the People Mover, and so we started to head out of the park, stopping at the Emporium for DH to look around a few mins, and were walking out of the park just before 1am. Peter Pan kept a 45 min wait most of the night, so we did not ride it, and we did not care if we rode most of the other small scale rides. It was like walking through a practically empty park. Definitely worth the $$$. I love MNSSHP and have done it twice, and MVMCP is ok....but DAH I would pay money for again in a heartbeat. I am actually debating if I should make a quick trip down for a date in May or June if I can get cheap enough flight.

Best $$ we spent on our trip in February. And our trip had a LOT of extras packed in - this beat them all. It was the MK DAH. 7DMT was down the whole time, which was a bummer, but it didn't remotely ruin the event. Park was practically empty, rides were walk on, all the free snacks you wanted. It was magical. Don't hesitate - do it.

Far shorter lines, more PopCorn than Orville Reddenbacher himself, unlimited Mickey Bars, FAR SHORTER LINES!

There's a video on Youtube showing someone doing the DAH at Animal Kingdom and he was like ONLY person on Flight of Passage and he rode it 3 times in an hour. He also showed the station at Everest and the trains were barely full, so yeah it looks like it'd be a lot of fun.

Crowds give me some anxiety. For us, just being able to walk without being shoulder to shoulder was worth the extra money. We were able to enjoy the beauty of the park at night and ride everything we wanted.

We just bought this for DAH at the Studios for our short 4 day trip in May. Reason why...we couldn't get Toy Story land fastpasses at times and days we preferred. We couldn't get SDD until our last park day and it's a mid afternoon time, which isn't ideal. We had to make 2 sets of FP to get all the DHS rides in we wanted, and that left a day without Epcot fastpasses. So, when this was announced, we discussed it and realized we could get all of DHS done during this event and not need to come back twice more during our short trip, and we would be able to cancel one day's worth of FP and set up some Epcot ones. 2 of the 3 in our party haven't seen TS Land yet and so it's a priority, along with ToT and RNR. The other reason it appealed is that our first park day will be a long one, but this gives us a chance to rest back in the room (one person is coming in that morning on a red eye). Now we can take that time out knowing that we will have a guaranteed good time that evening and be able to get a lot done after the sun has gone down. None of us like crowds or heat, so it's ideal.

Wow. 7DMT was posted at 30 mins and PPF was 45 all night? I have not followed the official thread. I didn't know they've been upping the number of tickets sold that much. Previously people had reported that all the rides were walk on or 10 min waits once the day visitors cleared.

Myself and DD15 did MK DAH last July. Best time and money ever spent...helps to have AP discount! Did all rides multiple times and TONS of snacks and drinks. It did end up selling out the day of 7-28, but never really felt crowded. This year we are doing AK and DHS DAH for our week especially since my non Disney loving DH is joining us in June for his 1st(and he says last) time at WDW. Low crowds, short wait times, snacks and drinks...SO worth it!!!

I don't think this is the norm. We did AK DAH the last week of February and were only able to ride FOP once which got up to a 90 minute wait about 30 mins after the event started. Everything else was a walk on throughout the night.

Thank you for all the helpful responses! I think we are going to wait to book until we see what fastpasses we can snag tomorrow. My youngest DD will be heartbroke if she doesn’t get to read idea that the ride Toy Story rides, so this will give us another’s option if we don’t get a fastpass.

I just can't decide between MK and HS....I only lean HS because I want to be sure we get to enjoy toy story land and this seems like the best guarantee for that.

If TSL is your goal, do EMM. It's less expensive and it focuses on the land and you get breakfast
