Rope Dropping Soarin' from Dolphin - suggestions?

During our trip in late May, we decided to "rope drop" Soarin' on a Saturday morning, then head over to Animal Kingdom, where our fast passes are used that afternoon.

We are staying in the Dolphin, so I know we are walking distance to EPCOT, but it's the World Showcase entrance, and I'm worried that by the time the rope drops and we walk to Soarin' we may already have a long wait. I've heard some recommendations that we take an Uber or Minnie Van to front entrance for Soarin' rope drop, but that seems like an extra expense that may not be necessary.

Any suggestions? I don't mind a 20-30 minute wait, but if it's going to be longer than that, any tip would be appreciated.

I would be at IG about 20-30 minutes prior to RD and then just walk quickly to Soarin from there. We did RD to Soarin’ from IG before and were second in line for the ride.

If you are at the IG 20 minutes before opening, you should be fine. We stay at BWV every fall and rarely find more than 30 people waiting at the IG. Its not a bad walk to Soarin. Just walk fast, but you shouldn't have more than a 10 minute wait.
This may all change once the gondolas are running. Then the IG will be much more crowded.

Be sure to take the “rose path” shortcut from WS to the Imagination/Land side of FW. As you are walking from the IG, it will be past Canada to the left. You should get to the Land pavilion in very good time that way.

Yeah, I was just thinking by going that way, the distance from IG and the distance from the main entrance are pretty similar.

Last time we did this, the rose garden path was closed. They funneled us all up the main walkway to the fountain and guests from both directions were held there until opening, then all merged together and walked into The Land. That’s been a few years, though, so that may have changed. But no, OP, they don’t let you be disadvantaged versus the front entrance. Enjoy the empty WS as you walk through!!
