When it comes to Valet parking, does anyone know if its 33 dollars per day just to keep your car there, or can you move your car in and out as many times as you like with the valet fee/cost (of course add a tip)

We will be staying at the Beach Club in a standard room for a week in November and am wondering what the best way is to make the best use of the 1456 pages of this thread? It is a bit intimidating! I started to read the first few pages, but then jumped to the end

:welcome: I think that is exactly the best way to use this thread. Dee keeps the first few posts up to date. And posters report back on current stays all the time, so you get lots of real time information. Read along & ask questions as they come up. Everyone here is happy to help!

We will be staying at the Beach Club in a standard room for a week in November and am wondering what the best way is to make the best use of the 1456 pages of this thread? It is a bit intimidating! I started to read the first few pages, but then jumped to the end! One of the questions I have is about room requests. I see that many people suggest asking for a full balcony. I think location might be even more important to me. I stayed at the Beach Club (quite a few years ago) and remember walking down what seemed like endless hallways to get anywhere. What would be the best way to frame a request so that we have a shorter walk to things? Was thinking of asking for a room near an elevator, but am concerned that that might be noisy. Thanks.

When we stay at the BC (and YC, too), we always request close to lobby.

As you probably know, I have a bit of "screen name regret".

I never dreamed I would be as active as I am on this site, and I totally would have chosen "Beach Club Dee" as a moniker if I knew then what I know now.

But honoring my kiddos with my forever name here is not a bad thing either.

Wishing a happy mothers day to the wonderful women in your life!

I'm sure you've been called Nate about as many times as I have been called Dan. :rotfl2: I should have talked to you before I chose mine too. But like you, honoring my son is a good thing.

Cabana Construction History
(link to be added to Page 1, Post 2)

Yes, We Have No Cabanas! (But coming soon...):banana::banana:

According to reports in mid-January, installation of cabanas at Stormalong Bay has started

October 2018, we have heard that this project has been cancelled.

Summer 2018:

According to an information website for travel agents, a very small portion of Stormalong Bay Pool will be closed in order to make way for new cabanas. The remainder of the area will remain in full operation. During this time, it is possible that Guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00am.

The area is on the YC side of the pool, next to the shallow, kiddie sandbar area.

* Mid-August – Fall 2018* There are also reports that the cabana installation has been postponed until later in 2018. Not much info has been posted by Disney.

We are booked in a Standard View Yacht Club CL room for May 19-24 for my birthday. Got a call from Guest Services on Friday to give them a call about my reservation and did not have a chance to call back until this morning. The CM told me they are having some "room inventory issues" at YC and they are moving us to the Grand Floridian CL for our stay?! I could not believe it. The Epcot resort area is my favorite so I am a little bummed to lose the location but I am pretty stinking excited to get a chance to stay at the Grand!

My one disappointment over the move is losing the location for sure. We are going to a DVC Moonlight Magic night at Epcot on one night during our stay and being able to walk back to the resort afterwards was something we were looking forward to. We also planned to catch Illuminations as much as possible since it is going away later this year. I'll be looking at our plans this week and seeing what I should adjust. We have DVC so we go back a lot (this is a rare cash stay for us) so it is not a huge deal to adjust a bit.

So after thinking about it for a day or two, I called Guest Services back to see if there was any way we could stay at the YC. With having Moonlight Magic at Epcot one night and a lot of plans to spend our evenings at Epcot, we really wanted the convenience of being able to walk from the resort. Guest Services was able to move us back over the YC (I have no idea how - maybe they had been able to get enough people to move already?) so we are back at the Yacht Club for 5 nights starting next Sunday. :rolleyes1

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Thank you so much for letting us know that you were able to keep your reservation at the Yacht Club.

I think your message is important- if you are contacted in a situation like this and you are excited about a possible move, go for it. But if you really want to stay put at the resort you booked, let the person know that you prefer to stay put if possible so they can try to make that work and move on to the next guest.

::yes::

We are booked in a Standard View Yacht Club CL room for May 19-24 for my birthday.

Aug 3-7 !!! Beach Club CL

Got it!

We’re going to BC in December. It’s my second stay there. My first was literally a lifetime ago (12 years!). I loved it and hope it’s just as nice. We’re in a 1 bedroom suite with Club level. I’m hoping my big girl can sleep in the first little alcove with the pull out couch. She needs privacy.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list we keep on Page 1, Post 15

:woohoo:

We check in May 19th also! I would be so excited for that upgrade! We are booked Garden View and are anxiously counting down the days till we arrive!

I have you on the list for the YC on May 21.

NBD, but I can change your listing to May 19 if that is correct.

:cool2:

For a request, if the location is your primary concern then "Close to lobby, please" That will prioritize your room to be near the lobby/pool/transportation.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15. What view category have you booked?

Our room is standard category. If I asked for a room that is "close to lobby," would the assumption be that I want a room on the lobby level? Not sure if I would want that. Thanks!

Y’all killing me talking about cabanas so I just booked one for September!! Eek!

Is payment usually taken straight away, as it’s not showing on my card?

We will be at the beach club october 18 to the 30th. I just booked a Cabana for the Yacht/Beach Club. It says cabana 2? What does that mean the second cabana? Hopefully we will have better luck with the beach club cabana than the grand. We were at the grand last week and the cabana was infested with love bugs they gave us our money back. Hoping for a nice day in October so we can finally enjoy a down time day.
That's insane that you gave you your money back! All of Florida is infested with love bugs right now. They were crawling all over the booths & dishes at the Flower & Garden Festival. We had a cabana on Saturday and we didn't get a refund. We were just warned by CM's to not leave any food or drinks out to protect them from the bugs & the crows.

We just got back my daughter and I stayed Club Level at the Yacht Club May 7-11, view was of a beautiful Magnolia tree and back of convention center :-). We did not spend much time on the balcony as this was a short trip. Spent many hours at Storm along pool which was very nice aside from swatting at the Love Bugs no biggie >:(:crazy2: they are a pain but didn't ruin our trip :D I have never had them on any of our previous trips.
We arrived on the 6th and stayed in Disney Springs area went to dinner at the Edison and then did the after Hours at Animal Kingdom, Loved loved!!! not many people at all. Everyone should do Animal Kingdom at night, the Tree of Life Awakenings and Avatar land all lite up is very cool. Also did the Extra early hours at Toy Storyland also Loved. Our last day we were walking around Epcot talking about our next trip. Dee could you put us on the calendar for a family trip for Disneys 50th May 3-11 2021, Yacht Club :jumping1:
