Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Hi guys, we just got to POP. It's my first time here and I thought I'd give you my initial impressions.
Except for the larger than life icons, the outside of the rooms looks like a hotel.
We requested 70's and got 50's but it's super close to the lobby.
Its almost 2 in the morning so it's dark but the grounds are meticulous. I'm sitting by lake and it's a gorgeous view.
The room is amazing. It looks so much better in person and I love the vanity and bathroom.
We're moving to POFQ tomorrow but I'd honestly book here again, based on the room alone.
If anyone has any questions let me know. If I can figure out how to, I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

You're lucky. I requested 60s and got the 80s building, as far from the lobby as it's possible to get. Worse, our plane got in 4 hours late so it was 11 p.m. by the time we got to the check-in desk. No way to move us, so we had a svery long walk. I wasn't happy, but there wasn't anything we could do about it at that point.

I know Bell Services are busy and overworked... But if they start charging for deliveries to the room they better not make me wait 2-3 hours to get it.

I agree! We were there last week and had two deliveries brought to our room. One was groceries and the other was my daughter's medical supplies. The groceries came in about 2-3 hours and box from Amazon of medical supplies came in an hour. From what I understand the Amazon delivery was actually held behind the front desk.

I also loved the vanity and bathroom - there was so much useful space! Looking your your pictures really makes me miss POP. I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Does anyone have the May Movie Schedule and the May activities schedule? TIA

Does anyone know if there is a place online to see the pool hours? I know even when we were at Pop we had to call to find them out the hours. It's a long way off but we are going in September and wondering what pool hours might be like at that time? There are often storms in the afternoon and the pool closes so wondering how lat we might be able to swim at night.

So we were there April 6-16, on multiple occasions we were waiting for our lyft at various times of the day, early morning, mid morning, lunch, late afternoon etc and I can say that the majority of the time one or two people did the most of the work while 3-4 stood around talking and complaining about their job. It actually was so bad one day, we addressed with the front desk about one person in particular, she was the evening supervisor and said "We hear that alot about him but what are you gonna do"

Ummm.... address the issue?!? Fire him and hire someone new?!? So many options ...

Maybe, but unfortunately Pop is a "value hotel", and value hotels are at the bottom of the Disney food chain. My guess is that this sort of stuff doesn't happen at the moderate and deluxe hotels. (although maybe someone who has stayed at those can set me straight if I'm wrong.)

We hopped in to Pop week before last on the last night of our trip. (This was a budget trip so we stayed offsite.) We have stayed at Pop several times, including our first trip. We ate dinner, looked in the gift shop and enjoyed the memories we have there. It was a great way to end our trip. I haven’t stayed at Pop since the room refurb. The pictures look so nice.

Still miss the old tie dye cheesecake though!

Does anyone know how long the new balance running trail is? Also, is it on sidewalks or roads? Thanks!

Here you go.

Pop Century Resort/Art of Animation Resort

The two resorts share a jogging path that is a 1.29 mile loop around Hourglass Lake. To add some additional distance, take the paths that circle around the ’50s buildings at one end of the Pop Century Resort, and the ’80s and ’90s buildings at the other end. Along the way you can enjoy the colorful buildings and the many large sculptures. There’s not much shade for this one.

We’ll be there in September. I think we’ll just go to Bell Services and get our own luggage and groceries. Sounds a lot easier and cheaper.

Hello! We are staying at Pop in June for hte first time and I'm so excited! We are DVC and it is only our second time staying at a Value resort, first time at Pop. We did not care for AS Music, but are really excited about Pop! I started looking at the pictures at the beginning of the thread and these appear to be the old rooms. Is there a new thread, or do I just need to scroll through the pages to find the new pics? Just want to make sure I'm on the correct thread! Also, I'm about to make my room request for Pop. I have read through everything and still can't decide. I am on Touring Plans doing my room request. I have a non-preferred room as preferred wasn't available with the Passholder rate. My kids like to be near the main pool and dining hall, and I prefer to be close to transportation for the late nights getting back to the room from the bus. I am looking at building 5, 6 or 10. Building 5 would be the back half towards the lake since it is not preferred, but close to the main pool which I like. Is that going to be far from the bus stop and dining hall? Also, do any of the in Building 5 or 6 with lake views have fireworks views? It looks like a nice view and close to the pool, not too far from the dining hall, but after staying at All Star Movies, I now realize how far you can be from the Main areas and bus stop if you don't have a preferred room. Building 6 seems a little closer to the bus stop than building 5 non-preferred rooms, but further from the pool than building 5. Building 10 seems closest to the bus stop but far from the main pool (they like the games and activities there, not the quiet pool). How far away are the lakeview rooms in Building 5 and 6 non-preferred rooms from the main dining hall and bus stop? Help me decide on my request!
