Third Time's the Charm! A June, Oct/Nov and Dec '19 PTR complete 12/22!

Ah!

I was just checking my options.... I can’t not pick! I can probably only fit in one tasting, I am thinking tequila.... but not sure how my husband is going to feel about it.... got to convince him!

I mean I want to try them all next year maybe I will move for the whole festival and just do them all.

I should have started a blog like 15 years ago on this, that’s the job!

Yess i say that all the time - we have totally missed our calling!!

I really wanted to do the Mexican tequila lunch but Mike hates tequila so I didn’t even bring it up lol

Totally going to hit the lotto then we can move to Florida and get this job!

Well I’m not sure my husband likes it either.... but I’m not a huge fan of sake, and I love love love wine, but I can do that around here... I think the tequila will be something fun and different.

Also I’m planning it I am not really giving him a vote, I’m a great wife I know

:rotfl::rotfl:I haven’t told him he’s doing these either lolol. I showed him reviews of the Parisian breakfast and he asked why we can’t just get croissants at the bakery. I said uh hello unlimited mimosas:confused3

Oh no :sad2: Disney doesn’t want you to have brunch for some reason lol

The reviews I read from last year sounded delicious!

It feels that way! haha Honestly I just looked at our schedule for the Saturday I would have wanted to do it and we have our rhino tour at AK so I'm not sure it would have worked anyway! Hopefully you'll be able to get it booked! That price seems awesome lol especially when comparing it to Cali Grill's!

Maybe it was just the Disney gods saving you from having to make hard choices lol! The rhino tour is awesome!

Right it's crazy how affordable it seems compared to other Disney things :rotfl:

June Trip Schedule

Our June trip is 28 days away and 2019 has been a pretty horrible year around here so far so I couldn't be more excited to be back in my happy place!

giphy.gif

Our plans are 90% set which means there's still a 50% chance I change them all lol.

But here's how they currently stand:

Wednesday June 12:
Flight lands at 8:05 AM. Hopefully our room will be ready early but either way I want to enjoy some resort/pool time and eat at either Banana Cabana or Spyglass Grill before spending the evening at Epcot.
FPs:
12:10-1:10 Spaceship Earth
1:25-2:25 Mission Space
2:35-3:35 Test Track

If we miss either of the first two, I won't be very upset. No ADRs for the day, I'm looking forward to enjoying some QS and snacks around the WS. If we're still alive when Epcot closes, I think it would be fun to go to the Boardwalk after Illuminations and either have drinks at AbracadaBar or hang out at Jelly Rolls. We also may die if we try this since our flight is at 5:30 in the morning so maybe not lol.

Thursday June 13:
Magic Kingdom, with Villains After Hours

FPs:
9:50-10:50 Splash Mountain
11:10-12:10 Meet Mickey and Minnie
1:45-2:45 7DMT (hoping to move earlier)

We have a lunch ADR at 11:55 for Be Our Guest which we may end up canceling since our dinner reservation at Ohana is so early (3:45).

I'm not sure what our plan of attack for RD will be. A lot of times I like to head to BTMRR first thing. Since most people don't, you can usually get in multiple rides in a row without getting off before a line builds. We should be able to do that at DAH though so I may go to our other RD plan which is 7DMT or Peter Pan then meet the characters in Fantasyland which won't be available later in the day (Alice, Fairy Godmother, Merida, Stepsisters).

At 11:15, my plan is to be by the Flagpole to see who the special characters are for the day, then use our Mickey and Minnie fastpass. If we don't cancel BOG, we'll head to lunch there then. If we do cancel, we'll still need to eat something at this point I'm sure.

If we don't move our 7DMT fastpass earlier, we'll use it at the beginning of the window then head out of the park to the Contemporary to start our monorail crawl. After dinner at Ohana and the monorail crawl, we'll head back into the park. I think the plan for the afternoon will be to see what FPs are available and to enjoy shows and characters that won't be open during DAH or that we won't want to waste time on.
Friday June 14:
Hollywood Studios, possibly with After Hours

This is the day that is most likely to still change 100 times. I'm unhappy with our FP times and I'm holding 5 different dining reservations and I'm not convinced I'm keeping any of them :eek::eek:

Current FPs:
10:45-11:45 Rock n Roller Coaster
12:40-1:40 Tower of Terror
6:50-7:50 Slinky Dog

I would like to get to the park early for RD but since DAH at MK the night before ends at 1 am, it may not happen. Then again, we've done it before sooo...we'll see.:rotfl:I've always been a #nosleepinDisney planner but the older I get, the harder that is to live by lol.

I was hoping to get a lunch reservation for Beaches and Cream and then head to Disney Springs from there but the only reservation I could get so far is for 4:30. So I came up with a new plan (anyone surprised?)

The new plan is to use our TOT FP at the beginning of the window, if I can't move it earlier. Lyft to Disney Springs. This will probably be our only DS time. The priority is the Wreck-It Ralph VR but I'd also like to do some shopping. Instead of a lunch ADR, I think we'll try to hit up some of the bars for drinks and appetizers. We've enjoyed Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar previously. Does anyone know if you can sit at the bar at Morimoto Asia and get food at lunch time?

I may keep the 4:30 Beaches and Cream reservation for us to get dessert before going back into DHS but not sure yet. I'm also still undecided about doing DAH at HS this night. There's a very good chance we will though.

Saturday June 15:
Animal Kingdom with 8 am EMH

I definitely want to be at the park early to take advantage of EMH which again, if we do After Hours the night before will be hard.

FPs:
9:40-10:40 Expedition Everest
10:45-11:45 Kali River Rapids
2:00-3:00 Flight of Passage

We'll use our Landry's card to eat at Yak and Yeti at some point during the day. We're doing the Rivers of Light dessert party at 8 pm to see the updated show. There's also a very good chance we'll take a resort break after our FOP fastpass since AK generally feels like the surface of the sun.

Sunday June 16:
We'll be flying out this night- flight still isn't booked but the one I want to book leaves at 10:30 pm so we'll have mostly a full day.

I'm thinking we'll want more Epcot time this day since our only other Epcot day is the day we fly in. I booked at PPO reservation at Garden Grill, so we can head to Soarin first thing. I also booked FPs for the afternoon in MK since we won't have a chance to see Festival of Fantasy on our MK day. So I'm leaving the plans open to see what we feel like doing.

We have a reservation for Sebastian's Bistro for 5 pm. I really want to try it but can't fit it in anywhere else and since it's at our resort and we need to come back there to catch DME anyway, I think it'll be a nice relaxing end to our trip.

The only other thing I may want to change about this last day is that I found out that at the Hilton in Disney Springs, they do a character brunch on Sunday with Minnie, Pluto and Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox! I would love to fit this it but they don't take reservations and I'm not sure if it's the type of thing where you need to be there early to get in or not so I have to do more research.

Sorry for the long post- full of words and no pictures but those are our basic June plans! I welcome any thoughts/suggestions cause I'm constantly changing them lol!

Your plans sound great! Your DHS plan will come together eventually! Good idea to have a final meet at your resort before heading to the airport!

I never knew about the Hilton brunch, how cool!

I feel this in my soul :rotfl:

We may actually cross paths a lot on this trip! 6/13 DH and I have a 12:10 BOG reservation (if you don't cancel yours) and then will be at the Villains AHs party! And we will also be at DHS at night on 6/14! Say hi if you see us! haha I'm really hoping we don't crash and burn this night at the AHs with our flight that morning. But YOLO! haha

I didn't actually realize there was a AHs for DHS on 6/14, as much as I would want to do it after our park time California Grill is definitely calling our name! haha I'm hoping for one in September or December though!

Wreck It Ralph VR is super fun! I definitely recommend it! I want to hit up Jock Lindsays for food at some point. It looks and sounds super delish! You could always make a reservation for Morimotos through OpenTable if you are unsure. And then you don't have to worry about canceling it or switching it!

I think Sebastian's Bistro for a meal sounds like a great way to end your trip! And forces you to get back in enough time that you don't feel stressed about catching DME!

Thank you! That's what I keep telling myself when I stress about it- it'll all come together somehow.

Right! I'm so confused about how I never heard about it!

 Glad I'm in good company :goodvibes

Oo wow- I knew our plans were similar but I didn't realize how much. I'll definitely keep an eye out for your guys!

California Grill is def a good option vs After Hours!

I forgot about the option to make a Morimoto reservation through Opentable. Thank you- that's a great option! We've had drinks at Jock Lindsey's and really liked it but didn't try any of the food. It would be fun to start there and then do a late lunch reservation at Morimoto and share some appetizers.

22 Days to Go!

Our June trip is coming up so soon- I can't wait!

magicbands.JPG
Our last day to customize Magicbands was last week and they arrived yesterday. Of course this meant we just missed the option to upgrade our bands so these will go into our collection of 657 solid colored bands that never get worn. I was still excited to get them though lol!

The good news is I was able to upgrade my band for my AP renewal and I chose a villains one in honor of the villains after hours!

magicband renewal.png

The flight I was watching for coming home finally dropped in price to $90 so I went ahead and booked it! So finally, our flights are officially booked so on the 16th we fly out of Orlando at 10:30 pm, landing in Newark at 1:04 am!

Thanks to @Cloe Colton- I booked a reservation for 6/14 for Morimoto Asia for a late lunch on Opentable. I think we'll still try to do Jock Lindsay's first since we've never eaten there (only had drinks) and then we'll see how hungry we are at Morimoto and can share a meal if we're really hungry or just order some apps! We've never had the ribs there and I know we need to try them for sure!

October trip

Updates for this are minimal still but I did get us booked for 2 of the special events for Food and Wine! I booked during the AP early booking window and it always drives me nuts when I call and they need the AP number off that yellow card. Is there any reason they can't make that accessible in MDE?!

Mike vetoed the frushi event since he said neither of us even like the frushi at the Flower and Garden. He's right but I tried to argue that I would like it better after I make it myself ... :rolleyes1 #lostthatbattle

Anyway, we're attending the Mix it, Make it, Celebrate It event on 10/28 to learn to make a "Lemba Pineapple Rose" cocktail. No idea what it means, but I'm a sucker for a good cocktail.

And the one I'm most excited for on 11/2- the Parisian breakfast at Chefs de France!

(picture stolen from google)

Those are the only real trip updates for now! For those interested in Real Life updates, Mike's nephew (who will probably join us in October for the Universal portions of the trip) came to visit for his 18th birthday last week. We are members at our local Six Flags, mostly because it costs something like $7 a month and pays for itself in one visit a season. They had a "bring a friend free" day on Friday so we took him and my brother. I attempted to pretend it was Disney but it never really works :rotfl:. Six Flags is fun but definitely not Disney! About halfway through the day, there was some kind of power outage and all of the rides IN THE ENTIRE PARK got stuck! I'm talking people stuck on crazy roller coasters, the Skyride stuck in the air, people walking off the log flume..:scared1:- it was crazy! I was just grateful we had taken a break from rides to eat lunch and go on the safari. The fact that I'm getting old and can't do 100 coasters back to back anymore worked in our favor!

kingda ka.JPG
In true Disney fashion, we were at the park before opening and as members were let in a few minutes early and made the first train of the day on their craziest coaster Kingda Ka. It was my brother's first time on the ride and you can see he wasn't as excited as I was :rotfl:.

Here you have a preview of a shirt Mike will be wearing at HHN lol

me justice league.JPG
They added a Justice league shooting ride last season- very similar to Men in Black at Universal. The photos of me and Mike from the ride basically highlight how these ride types always go around here. Mike calmly gets a high score. I angrily have no idea what I'm shooting and try really hard and still do horribly.

It was a fun day but still has me counting down the days until Disney!

Love the Villains MB!

Glad you got your flight home booked for June and were able to book the 2 events for F&W!

Wow I never realized a season pass for Six Flags is that cheap. But of course it's no Disney! But YIKES about the power outage thats so scary and thank goodness you all didn't get stuck on anything!

Ugh so frustrating that you missed out on the magic band upgrade! I didn't get to update mine for this trip either (I would have been able to do our GF magicbands if the go live date would have been 5/15 lol) but at least you were able to get it for your AP! I purchased one for our September trip which I'm excited for! $10 is just SUCH a good deal! Although I wish they would have added the extra plain colors as options (like black and millennial pink!!)

Nice score on the flight! I'm sure that's a relief to have that booked now

I'm glad you got a reservation for Morimoto. Definitely nice that the Disney Springs restaurants offer OpenTable, definitely less pressure!

Nice that the flights home in June dropped and you were able to book them. Bummer that the MB upgrades opened right after your window closed...

Six Flags is definitely NOT Disney but it looks like you all still had a fun time!

Thank you!

I never realized it was so cheap either because we don't go that often since we aren't teenagers anymore lol. But I wanted to check out their Christmas celebration last year and when we went online to buy the tickets, we realized how cheap it is! Oh man it was terrifying to think how close we were to getting stuck!! We were literally the next in line for a coaster when they shut everything down!

$10 is a great deal! I've been seeing a lot of posts on FB that a lot of designs are showing as sold out and Disney is telling people they'll restock but not sure when so I guess it was pretty popular. I'm super surprised that they didn't add the other solid colors too. Those are actually what I was looking for first- I would love a millennial pink one or that teal color they made! Even if they charged like $5 for them, I would pay it!

Yes thankfully- I was getting pretty stressed that our trip was less than a month away and we had no plans to come home :rotfl:

11 Days til Disney!

It's been so busy around here that it didn't even hit me how close our June trip was until it was June 1st!

I've been working crazy hours because we've been so crazy busy and short staffed at work that I'm taking all the overtime I can get and DBF just took a promotion at work so he's working pretty much the exact opposite schedule as me.

giphy.gif

This is how it feels when we actually see each other these days. :rotfl:

Plus, my baby sister graduated college last week!

kims graduation.JPG
I look terrible because I had to go straight from work but she's adorable!

There's no real updates for our June trip. I'm looking forward until the 6th when the first Villains After Hours takes place and we get some more info about the event.

I got my upgraded magicband in the mail for my AP renewal. I'm glad I was able to order it before all the bands were out of stock but now I'm sad that I didn't upgrade our bands for October. I was holding out that they'd add new ones before our trip but hopefully it's enough time for them to restock!

October/November Updates

I'm heavily leaning towards adding a day to the end of our trip. I booked our dates before MVMCP dates were announced this year, based on our plan for last year. So our current check-out date is 11/8, which means our plan is to pack everything up that morning, check-out of the hotel and spend the day at the parks with MVMCP until midnight and then drive about an hour to Mike's mom's house.

Just typing it makes me tired.
Adding the extra night will allow us to have a low-key morning after MVMCP before loading up our car, which I imagine know will be a task after 15 days of accumulating things.
car coming home.JPG
For reference- this is our car coming home last November!
Plus, Disney announced new Christmas additions coming to Animal Kingdom this year started November 8th. We could head over there before MVMCP but having the extra day to spend some time there before driving to Mike's mom's sounds much more relaxing!

I'm not sure if or when discounts will come out for Fall but I'm thinking it might be nice to make the trip a split stay and do a moderate or deluxe for the last 3-4 nights, depending on price. Only time will tell.

We purchased our Halloween Horror Nights tickets this week also. There's a current deal for buy a night, get a second night free until June 5th so we decided to take advantage of that! I scare so easily but love haunted houses and all things Halloween and HHN is by far my favorite Halloween event! They've announced a few of the original houses for this year already and they sound amazing!

I also got us booked for Candy Sushi during Food and WIne. I wasn't able to get a reservation last year when it was free and of course this year it isn't free but $10 isn't that big of a deal. I'm a little concerned it's more of an activity just for kids though and that we'll feel silly doing it so I may end up canceling it.

Hi there :wave2: Stumbled across your PTR and joining in!

Wowsers on having been to Disney 21 times...I’m slightly jealous! I’m trying to keep up with the switching between trips! :rotfl:

I hope you manage to get your reservation at Pop Century...I love that resort! I’m staying at Caribbean Beach Resort for my next trip so looking forward to hearing all about it on your trip.

Congrats on booking on the wine and dine 5k run...sounds like a lot of fun! I’ve never done a 5k at Disney but you’re persuading me to look into them.

I love your shirt purchases and glad you had Disney to focus on on March 25th...a huge respect to you and the job you do.

Oh CP is one of my favs with Pooh and friends...I love it. Kudos to you on doing early magic hours and MNSSHP in the same day!! Looking forward to seeing how that plans out.

Congrats on your baby sisters graduation and I found it funny how your DBF says he only goes to Disney because of you! ;) Looking forward to reading more.
