WDW Railroad Re-Opening ETA?

If the track is through Tron construction or right next to it (anyone know?), it will probably be closed for a while.

There are some aerial pics somewhere that shows the track going right through the construction area. That part of track has been removed. Sadly I don't think it will reopen until after Tron. I miss it too.

I'm amped for the Tron Coaster. Not because I care about Tron, but because it looks like a cool ride. I just wish the placement was slightly different. It's going to make that corner of Tomorrowland jam packed at all times with Space Mountain right there. In addition, something about a turn of the 19th century train riding straight through a futuristic roller coaster just seems weird. I know many don't see the WDWRR as a major attraction, but it's probably the 2nd most recognizeable Disney Parks icon next to the castles.

We were there last week and it's all torn up, you can see it from the Peoplemover. The track is torn up for the WDWRR and at the rate they are going it probably won't be done and ready to run again until close to Tron opening or so.

The train was going through tomorrowland anyways, so no big stretch on that

Nice that they’re adding Tron and refurbing the train track - but would also be nice to update the carousel of progress too. Bonus if they make it longer it’ll be a great add to nap time :rotfl:

This is the reason why it's closed.
It will be closed through the end of the year at least
Yeah the track is still ripped up near Tron. They did do some replacing of the track around the rest of the loop as well but I believe a decent amount of that was finished already.

They are, you can see the work being done on the portion by main street and when you ride the people mover by the carousel of progress curve

And put the flames back onto the log cabin scene? Yes? YES?!? :p (Yeah I know, but I can dream!)

Disney World will be a new experience in 2021 with so many things opening between now and then (that won't be open this year for our July trip). This years trip is going to be awesome but we will extend our stay in 2021 by a couple/few days.

I see more construction is going on with Tron, does anyone know if the train will return and also when if it is returning. We always like to take a ride and relax with our popcorn.

Eventually, yes. But not for a while, probably into next year.
