Strategy for DHS Extra Extra Magic Hours (6-9am Sept 1- Nov 2)

Hello! I’m very very new to these boards and to the entire Disney system in general. I read through this entire thread and can’t seem to entirely understand what “extra extra” magic hours are. Can someone explain? We just bought annual passes (new Florida residents) specifically to be able to enjoy all of the new Star Wars stuff. If we stay on site at a Disney hotel, we get in early? Is there a schedule of what days these are and is there anything I need to know about how to take advantage of the early admission? Sorry in advance if this is super basic stuff.
for SWGE the EEMH from 6am to 9am are from Sept 1st until Nov 2nd every day for DHS and 7am to 8am every day for MK and AK

Hello. We’re coming in mid September. We don’t have tickets as we are invited by a Cast Member friend, so we have to go to guest services first in the morning to get our tickets. Do you think it’ll be open before those new EEMH?

First question is what kind of CM ticket are you talking about? The CM block out dates calendar is not out yet from August on and there is a very good chance that DHS will be blocked from any Main Entrance CM pass. Now if the CM is giving you printed tickets with no block out dates then you don't need to go to GR for that.
Guest Relations will most likely be opened about at around 5:30am for a 6am scheduled opening

I'm there from September 26th. However, I will be at Disneyland from the 20th September then flying across on the 26th. If I get into the Disneyland GE then I won't be too worried about the WDW GE. As I'm a solo traveller I'll be playing it by ear. I'm an early morning person so getting up at 4am isn't too bad.
I feel sorry for all those who booked an 8am breakfast at BoG hoping to get into the MK early only to find that MK is opening at 7am for that period.

I read (on another site) that GE will have a "virtual queue" system at first. If so, it seems that it won`t be first come, first served, even at 6 a.m.
That's happening at DL. You book your boarding pass that day then given a time, I think you have four hours before they expect you to go. I wonder if they will do the same at WDW

It's a Main Entrance pass. We're aware that we will probably not be able to get into DHS, and that we will have to buy the tickets, but just wanted to know if, in the case there is a day without blockout, Gest Relations would be open. Thank you!

We are not a RD family let alone an EEMH family, we prefer the pm EMHs. So since everyone is planning to be at the park in the middle of the night and go back for naps in the day, what do you think the parks will be like during regular hours on weekdays? Exclude SWGE, I know that will be super busy forever!

Those aren't our plans. We're rope drop straight through to close people, as I'm sure many are. But others prefer to sleep in and arrive late morning so I don't think there's any advantage to not arriving early. Aren't parks always busiest from like 11am-5pm on any day?

We did that, I was bummed when they changed the hours but not heartbroken. The main reason we do it is to get empty park photos and being on free dining this time I wanted to try BoG breakfast (doesn’t seem worth it OOP).

Im still interested to see what SWGE and DHS capacity truly is... disneylands virtual qeue will prevent overcrowding and DL has lots of ride capacity for those who get turned away... those first few days at DHS when the hordes descend will be something.

If I go in September, which I do plan on doing currently, I will be at the gate between 430 and 500. No later. I want to go right in and queue up for MFSR immediately then once I have done it I want to experience the land and all it has to offer. I plan on dedicating 2 days solely to SW:GE. I will have several days of data to determine the best course of action based off what other people do. Also I may be doing this trip solo so I can do whatever I want to do.

I have 2 elementary aged kids who are going to be a struggle to get up much before 6 and don’t do well waiting more than an hour. Should my plan be to skip the ride and hopefully still be able to get into the land, if we make it there by 6/6:30 on a Wednesday or Thursday in mid September? How long do we think touring the land will take?

It's think it's hard to plan now until we see how Disney is handling crowds from the first couple of weeks. Or until they make some announcement on handling crowds/time allotments/virtual queues, etc. I'm sure unless they limit the number of guests allowed in at one time, even just touring the land will take hours because so many others are there.

I keep forgetting how crazy busy the land itself will probably be. From a company that makes me tell them my dining plans 6 months in advance and my ride selection 2 months in advance, the suspense is killing me. Though I recognize they don’t have enough data yet.

Yeah it is driving me nuts, too. We have 2 days set for HS, and I have explained to my family MANY TIMES we may not even get near Galaxy's Edge and they need to accept it!
