I saw a post on a FB group over the weekend and the girl was talking about the VIP tour that she was just on last week... I was in celebrity shock when I realized it was Chunkysis!!! OMG!!! I was freaking out!!! Yeah, I read all about your trips here, but "seeing" her in the "real world" on FB was completely different!!! I'm counting it was my first celebrity sighting!!! :cool1:

OK everyone, I'm going to try and wrap up this trip report this week since I have started my new TR for our Epic Disboards Girls Trip: We. Are. CHUNKY!
Boy do I have the post-Disney blues. It is so surreal to be back after 2 weeks away. I had so many great experiences on this trip and really enjoyed the company of so many wonderful people which I will be sure to re-live on my TR!

Day 8 Part 1

Our last full day at Disney!! At this point I was exhausted, not only from the heat but because walking with a bum knee was just making me slow and just plain bummed in general. I think I needed a bit of a pick me up. My knee did feel slightly better because the swelling went down after icing it so much and I took some ibuprofen as well. I skipped our first 2 FP which I think were Star Tours and ToT which I had booked for Steve and CS since they are the only ones that ride it anyways.

My sister went early and took pictures, of course. I don't know how she still looks so fresh and perky and I'm just a hot mess.

I met them right before our early afternoon FP at Slinky Dog! I took the boat over and walked in. I was hungry as I hadn't eaten all morning so I got myself a chocolate banana because I needed to feed my sorry self some breakfast.

These frozen chocolate bananas are the perfect breakfast food. I wish they would open the ice cream carts early so I can get one in the morning!

Finally I hobbled my way over to Toy Story Land where everyone else was waiting. Steve offered to find me a wheelchair and I politely declined. (I may have had a slight toddler tantrum too) Really, I just wanted to feel like myself and if hobbling was going to do it then so be it.

My sister had gotten herself the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup from Woody's Lunchbox. She also got herself the raspberry tart which i could have told her to skip since I wasn't a fan.

The grilled cheese was pretty good, nothing outstanding though. She shared the sandwich with us but since I already had the banana, I just had a few bites. I did like the soup though as it was slightly creamy tasting. My sister liked the tart more than me, maybe because it has jamin it. But you know what? It didn't have ENOUGH jam. So she was also rather disappointed. I would probably not go out of my way to eat at Woody's Lunchbox in general. I do like the Totchos there but it's not a big deal if I don't have it, as it really is just tater tots with chili n cheese.

After that we had a friend who was meeting us at Disney, she is an AP holder as well. so while waiting for her I did some character pics just like CS!

We met our friend Jeanette who lives in Florida, she also has an AP too so was able to come into the parks for a few hours.

We ordered the Exotic Margarita: Patron silver tequila, Midori, Yuzi, and fresh lime juice. They were really good! I honestly do not drink Tequila too much because it affects me more than other alcohol but this drink was quite yummy and since I was already so lethargic due to my knee it didn't matter if I slowed down any more. In fact, I actually think it made me happier. It was fun to just chill and have some drinks and food with a friend. We also shared a cheese and charcuterie board because, why not?

We chilled for a while and then headed out to the boats to try and make it to Epcot for a bit before our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. But when we got on the boat it would not move. They said there was lightning in the area and they were given orders not to operate so we hung out in the boat for about 30 minutes. It wasn't raining just yet but it was raining within like 7 miles of the boat so they could not move. So after waiting for so long and not moving we decided to just leave and take the bus to the Grand Floridian. It was not bad though as we spent the time on the boat just catching up with our friend! She was also with us on May the 4th in 2017 at DHS (in my Best. Day Ever TR)

Safety first of course but I am wondering how often they’ll need to take the gondolas offline for lightning (almost daily occurrence here in summer).

Yup it's from Baseline! It was better than I expected, maybe not as good as the ones from Mexico, but it hit the spot on that day since it was so hot! The Charcuterie is good as well as the large pretzel. I didn't stop at Baseline on this trip, there was just no time. I know, I spent like 9 days in WDW and there wasn't enough time?!? LOL, what problems we Disney addicts have...
I was wondering about the gondolas! I would think they have some sort of plan especially when you're stuck in one? I would hope they have lightning rods or something. Now it's making me a little scared to ride in one...at least during the summer months!

I seriously think they should encourage people to imbibe a little. It always makes my park days so much more relaxing. Glad to see you were feeling a little better. Have you tried the hazelnut tart? I thought it was very good. My favorite has been the apple cranberry that they had at xmas. That margarita sounded good. I love yuzu!

I am so sorry about your poor knee! Glad it got a little better for the last full day. Sometimes a late start to the day is just what the doctor ordered! Do they sell the frozen bananas in the hotel gift shops with the frozen treats? I do not like bananas so I have never looked before. Those drinks look amazing! I want one! Frustrating being stuck on the boat for so long, but it is nice you got a little rest and were able to catch up with your friend!

I met them right before our early afternoon FP at Slinky Dog! I took the boat over and walked in. I was hungry as I hadn't eaten all morning so I got myself a chocolate banana because I needed to feed my sorry self some breakfast.

Good choice! Are there nuts on it? I've always wanted to try one but I'm allergic to tree nuts except for almonds.

We ordered the Exotic Margarita: Patron silver tequila, Midori, Yuzi, and fresh lime juice. They were really good! I honestly do not drink Tequila too much because it affects me more than other alcohol but this drink was quite yummy and since I was already so lethargic due to my knee it didn't matter if I slowed down any more. In fact, I actually think it made me happier. It was fun to just chill and have some drinks and food with a friend. We also shared a cheese and charcuterie board because, why not?

Mmmmm, everything looks great! How nice to have some time to just kick back and relax with a friend.

We thought the lunch sandwiches were fine, nothing too special. I got the grilled cheese too and it was also pretty crunchy, which isn't my favorite (like verrrry crunchy bread with cooling/starting to congeal cheese slices). We weren't a fan of the other tart - chocolate? Nutella?? But Zack liked the... pasta salad? you could get lol.

The grilled cheese looks good. Basic, sometimes is all you need. Morgan and Gwen like those pop tart things, I tried a bite, they are just ok.
