"Soft kitty, warm kitty" - Anyone else sad about TBBT ending?

I hated to see it go, but I thought it ended well. That's hilarious somebody called it here about the elevator getting fixed. The speech really made me emotional too. I thought it was great that Sarah Michelle Gellar made an appearance.

Loved the ending of both shows.

The thought of elevator getting fixed on the last show has been out there for a few weeks now - I've read about it several times.

Haven’t watched Young Sheldon yet.

Overall I appreciated the ending of BBT, and although I’m a little ticked with Penny’s ending specifically, I’m glad they stayed true to the show’s roots.
I feel like everyone had given Sheldon a lot of slack the last little while so it was nice to see them all go back to being peeved at him. Even for only a few minutes.

Bets on Raj’s spinoff? I’m not convinced because look at FRIENDS, Joey didn’t get a “happy” ending and his spinoff was horrible! I think it’s better to just leave it be.

I did not like Penny's ending.

But otherwise, I think this was a great ending. i liked Sheldon's speech quite a bit.

Satisfying ending to this show.

Agreed. They basically gave us what we wanted.

Possible exception is Raj, but there was only so much you could do with him given he broke things off last episode with his girlfriend/kind of fiancée. But I think they wrapped that last week by Howard chasing him down at the airport and convincing Raj to stay with the people who loved him.

I like that they had Penny be pregnant. She had been bitter and kind of a lost character the last couple of seasons. She seemed happy again and I was glad to see that.

Raj is fine. You're right, the scene at the airport shows that he has what he needs in life. Maybe he'll find love or maybe not, but's it is okay if he doesn't.

Okay, Joey wasn't a great success, running only two seasons. Then there was Episodes, and nlw Man with a Plan. Just a matter of finding the right vehicle.

I actually wouldn't mind a show with Stewart (Stuart?) and Barry. Have the occasional BBT star as a guest.

It was a great finale! I'll miss the show for sure, but it can't go on forever. Loved that it ended with them getting takeout since they do it almost every episode! Great speech by Sheldon!

What was wrong with Penny's ending? Married to the man she loves and expecting a child? I'm missing something.

I'm guessing people aren't happy because she was so adamant that she didn't want to have kids. That, and it was a pretty predictable plot line for the finale (e.g. a little too easy to toss in there ;) )

This. Very much this.

I am a woman who does not want children of my own, and when they aired that super serious episode in which she said she did not want children, I was ecstatic. A TV show I watched told the world it was okay to not want children. And then they got her pregnant and she was happy about it. So the TV show I watched changed it to "It's okay to not want children right now, but you'll change your mind." and that kinda broke my heart.

Having children should not define your worth as both an individual and as a couple.

Also felt odd that they left out Mrs. Cooper at the ceremony.

Laurie Metcalf is doing a play on Broadway, she probably couldn't fly to California for the taping.

I thought it was well done. I am glad the last scene was them in that apartment eating food. I don't like it when shows make the endings super sad. Like if they had Amy and Sheldon buy a house, and Leonard and Penny move far away for a new job or something. Then the last scene is them in the empty apartments saying their goodbyes and good luck's for a future apart. I liked how it ended with them all staying put and the good things happening like winning the nobel prize, Penny's pregnancy etc. brought them closer together and moving on together instead of separately.
