Flying on Monday and there are several of the "even more legroom" seats still available on our flight. They are currently priced at $57-$66. If we check again the day of the flight or even at the gate, do the prices ever go down? Thanks!

And nobody who hasn't paid can sit there.

Oh this is good to know! I was concerned that if I chose the window and middle seats in a currently empty upgrade row, that someone who hasn't paid would try to sit in the aisle seat if it remains empty. Sounds like they actually check and enforce it?

I typically preboard and sit in the first row, so I hear things :). Yes, I have heard Flight Attendants ask for boarding passes, and making the passenger move back to their assigned seat. And yes, the Extra Legroom seats have remained empty.

Now, somebody in the middle seat of row 4 might be allowed to move to the empty aisle seat in row 2, so I won't guaranted that seat will remain empty. But it would be occupied by somebody who paid for the extra room.

They may even be gone by then. We had them offered on our last flights and by the time we were able to open the email to look, they were gone for our flight.

I have seen them be filled with regular people at random but never for less money,

Example if all that is left when you buy your ticket is extra leg room seats and you don’t pay there is a small change you can get the seat if no one else paid for it and you’re the only person left to be assigned a seat. However I wouldn’t bank on this.

I’m the person who buys a ticket 6 months out and w days before upgrades my ticket, because the costs of the ticket is long forgotten and what’s an extra 50/100/150 depending on how many people are flying, we are in vacation mode already!

I work for a school system and my husband and I don't have kids. We flew JetBlue home as a couple at the end of April vacation week (vacation week for virtually the entire state), nonstop from MCO. There was a high school music department on our flight and no one had bought the emergency row (aka Even More Legroom) seats, because there were so few on board that weren't traveling with kids. The gate agent desperately needed to fill those seats, so he offered a complimentary upgrade to adults traveling solo or as a couple. I'm positive that this is a rare occurrence, but we did get a complimentary upgrade to the emergency row, at the gate, just a few weeks ago.

Nice! Yes, highly unusual but it worked out for you!

I was sitting in the row behind the extra legroom row and asked if I could move. I would have had to pay, and when someone moved into that seat she was only there a few minutes before she was asked to move back.

As other folks have noted, prices for these seat upgrades do not change. I can't remember if the price is the time of the flight or the distance flown (although those two factors are closely related). Essentially, a 3-hour flight (or 1,000 mile flight) is always going to be X dollars.
