"Soft kitty, warm kitty" - Anyone else sad about TBBT ending?

Okay, Joey wasn't a great success, running only two seasons. Then there was Episodes, and nlw Man with a Plan. Just a matter of finding the right vehicle.

I actually wouldn't mind a show with Stewart (Stuart?) and Barry. Have the occasional BBT star as a guest.

Stuart is my favourite character. I’d watch a show with him. Although, he’s funny because of his interaction with the other characters.

I really liked the way they wrapped one of my favorite shows up.
I thought it was well done. I am glad the last scene was them in that apartment eating food. I don't like it when shows make the endings super sad. Like if they had Amy and Sheldon buy a house, and Leonard and Penny move far away for a new job or something. Then the last scene is them in the empty apartments saying their goodbyes and good luck's for a future apart. I liked how it ended with them all staying put and the good things happening like winning the nobel prize, Penny's pregnancy etc. brought them closer together and moving on together instead of separately.

Yeah, its like, we know they're all going to be okay. They still have each other. I don't know why, its just a comforting way to end it.

They found a way to make me tolerate Sheldon getting the Nobel, which I was really not wanting to happen. I was surprised at Leonard and Penny's baby, but happy for them since they are happy about it. The way they wrote that arc is interesting since it really didn't involve Penny changing her mind necessarily, or with her compromising with Leonard. Instead it happened due to natural consequences and her choice to embrace the outcome. It doesn't have to be a statement about what anybody else should or shouldn't do, it's their decision to live their lives as they choose. By the same token I'm happy to have Raj's story remain so open ended, yet content.

I was quite surprised to see the Wolowicz offspring.

At one time I would have been very sad to see it end but I've lost interest in that last couple seasons. It time to put the series to bed I think and I'm not really sorry to see it go at this point.

I just wished they had ended Raj’s story in some way. His seems incomplete.

Yes, I really thought he was going to have a meet cute while they were away.

Other than that it was gorgeous, I am really sad to see it go. I fought off tears the whole episode.

This. Very much this.

I am a woman who does not want children of my own, and when they aired that super serious episode in which she said she did not want children, I was ecstatic. A TV show I watched told the world it was okay to not want children. And then they got her pregnant and she was happy about it. So the TV show I watched changed it to "It's okay to not want children right now, but you'll change your mind." and that kinda broke my heart.

Having children should not define your worth as both an individual and as a couple.

I guess everyone will judge that part based on their own feelings. I have siblings who do not have children, it is OK to not want children. It is also OK to have a surprise pregnancy and come around to being happy about it. I don't see anything about self-worth in that. I have DVRed the BBT but have not watched much of the last 2 seasons. Did they ever talk about Sheldon and Amy having kids?

No, but somewhere in this thread somebody posted that Seldon mentioned his cildren while narrating Young Sheldon.

Yes, the narration in Young Sheldon does indicate that at some point he has kids. Weird thing to think about.

One of my favorite jokes from the finale was Sheldon talking about how many time they had...you know. And he added a couple to the count. "It was the Avengers trailer." HA!

The other best scene was Stuart giving an update on the kids and all the disasters. "How many teeth did she have before you left?"

I just watched and even though I had read the spoilers, I still teared up during Sheldon's speech. I thought it was a really well come episode.

The only part I didn't really like was the video chat with Stuart who seemed to be overwhelmed by the children. Over the last couple years, I thought it was always implied that Stuart was babysitting the kids anytime Bernadette and Howard were doing other things. If that were the case, then he wouldn't be so overwhelmed by them.

I hated to see it go, but I thought it ended well. That's hilarious somebody called it here about the elevator getting fixed. The speech really made me emotional too. I thought it was great that Sarah Michelle Gellar made an appearance.
The significance of this was totally lost on me - can you help me out?

Maybe because Matt LeBlanc was doomed into a type-casting pigeon hole he will never escape? Episodes was a fantastic show but his character was just Joey on steroids. I wonder how many of the BBT cast will end up in the same situation. :scratchin Honestly, Jim Parsons seems like a sweetheart in real life but can any of us really see him in any other role but Sheldon?

We haven't been super-interested in the show over the past couple of years so the finale actually snuck up on me and I hadn't given the ending much thought. If I had though, I would have guessed a scenario something like you mention here, especially after the teaser of Leonard's threat to quit the university. I agree the way it actually did go is more satisfying. :goodvibes
