Worldmark?

Have any of you stayed at the Dolphin's Cove or Worldmark Anaheim? Would you share your thoughts and experiences, please?

My wife and I stayed at Dolphin Cove 10 years ago, pre children.

It was just adequate. More a motel than a resort.

I wouldn't choose to go back personally, and would opt for either Courtyard or Fairfield if price is near enough.

We've stayed at both. Worldmark is far superior of the two. Both will require some kind of transportation unless you want a long hike to the park. When we stayed at Dolphins cove we had a 2 bedroom unit for 6. We walked to the Toy Story shuttle, a bit of a walk. When we stayed at WorldMark we were in a penthouse, a 4 bedroom, with 8 guests. It was very nice. We took the ART busses. My mom just stayed at WorldMark this last summer with her sister in a 1 bedroom. It was comfy too, though not as nice as the penthouse rooms. We were staying at Peacock suites. I wouldn't recommend Peacock for timeshare points, but I would recommend either of the other two. Keep in mind World Mark charges very high taxes whereas Dolphins cove does not charge taxes.

We used to stay at Dolphin's Cove frequently. Last stay was Dec 2017. It's a converted apartment building. It's easier to get than worldmark anaheim and the price was usually much cheaper. We like the added space, a full kitchen, and twin beds for the kids so the 2 and 3 bedroom units work great for us, especially when we'd get the units with 2 bathrooms. It isn't fancy, but it was always clean and comfortable. And using our timeshare there always gave us more bang for our buck than any hotel.

We have stayed at the Worldmark with my wife's uncle and it is decent, but we are spoiled by owning DVC at the Grand Californian.

But I would definitely agree Worldmark over Dolphins Cove.

Thanks for your replies! We've stayed at a lot of Worldmarks, but never in Anaheim. For Disneyland, we always stay in a 2 bedroom at Desert Palms. An extra bathroom would be very helpful and a little more space to spread out would be luxurious.

We have noticed that "converted" Worldmarks aren't nearly as nice as the ones they build. I wonder how the Dolphins Cove compares in niceness/comfort to the Desert Palms that we're used to. If we just don't think about it as a Worldmark resort, maybe we won't be disappointed.

I enjoy long walks. However, I'm also always anxious to get to the park as early as possible. And most of my family would not tolerate the long walk well.

We're looking into Uber or Lyft. We'd have to get a collapsible-type car seat to bring along. And there are 7 of us so we'd need to get two cars. One of them would probably need to be XL because we also have a double stroller. It sounds like we're transporting a circus. Maybe I would walk with the stroller, and most of the family would use rideshare. Although, that plan would almost certainly keep me from taking an afternoon break. Four long walks!

Maybe another option would be to drive our van to the passenger drop off area. Then the driver takes the car back to the resort and walks over (I guess that would be me, lol) while the family goes through security and gets in line. I would hope for a no bag line for me. I might take advantage of the Toy Story shuttle if we were in Dolphins Cove.

This is starting to sound like more trouble than it's worth. But my in-laws say they might have extra WM points we should use up. So this would save us $1700-2000, as well as allow us a few rest days that we wouldn't spend the money on otherwise.

The Worldmark has an ART shuttle stop right outside the building. We used it when we stayed there and it was fine. It's the last stop before the parks, so it doesn't take too long. I'd have that as your first alternative. We did walk back one evening, and it was a bit long (20 minutes or so), but still doable.

We liked our stay, but be warned: the elevators are incredibly slow. We were on the 7th floor and ended up carrying strollers down the stairs after waiting more than 5 minutes on several occasions.

Wow, thanks for the elevator tip! I'm pretty impatient, especially when I want to get to rope drop. I wonder if it would be best to request a lower floor. Although, I've heard that from the higher ones you can see the fireworks.

The ART bus could be our solution! Does it stop at Dolphins Cove, too? Or just Worldmark Anaheim? And does it run early enough to get there an hour before rope drop?

I have only stayed at Dolphin's Cove. It was fine. It's nice to have a full kitchen in the unit.

We walked to the Toy Story lot and took the bus to the parks. We would have just walked the whole way, but it was really cold when we stayed there. It was windy and in the 40's when we stayed. Very cold walk, but also very unusual to be that cold.

Here is the review I left on Tripadvisor the last time we stayed at Dolphins Cove. We have stayed there 4 times and have another setup for next February. Its not the best but its also not the worst. We use it because of the time share aspect.

The Redone pool is really nice. The rest is only ok.

The Art bus stops right around the corner from dolphins cove. About a 3-5 minute walk depending on where your room is at DC.
