It looks like a nice view! Was it far from the bus stop? That is our issue at night is getting back to the room with my 9 year old who is out of stroller age but falls asleep on the bus and does not wake up, lol. Wish I could have booked preferred but it was not an option.

It's not as close as the preferred rooms (obviously) but not super far! I think on the Touring Plans site it said 4 minute walk to Classic Hall and 6 to the bus.

I am looking at views from building 6 and don't see the Mickey phone. Where is it?
Look at the upper left side of this map, you might have to enlarge it a bit. as you can see, its close to both the lake and Classic Hall.

the mickey phone is at the entrance to building six in the courtyard between the buildings. looking at the map it would be about where the telephone symbol is.

Silly question here - I made a reservation last week and am sure that I would have picked a room with one king bed, but I'm looking at my reservation confirmation and do not see that info anywhere, one way or the other. Am I missing something in MDE?

At Pop, king beds are a request, not a booking category. Call the main Disney reservation number and have them note it as a request. There are relatively few rooms with king beds and many are HA, so I make that my only request. Now that all the regular beds are queens and one folds up into the wall, getting a king is not as crucial as it used to be, but DH and I are much more comfortable in a king so I’m still going to request it.

It is not possible to reserve a room with a king bed at Pop. You can request one but there is no guarantee you will get it. There are not very many king rooms at Pop and many that are are accessible rooms. You will not know until you arrive if you have been assigned a king room.

We are not driving, but are looking for a good room location and Building 5 at the end looks like a nice view and our kids want to hang out at the main pool. Can you tell me how far away it was from the bus stop, and did you have a view of any fireworks? I read somewhere that you can see some fireworks from the lake view rooms, but I don't know which ones. We couldn't get preferred, so looking for a non-preferred room not too far from the main pool, but close to the lobby and bus stop which are more important.
Not far from the lobby or bus stop at all. Maybe 5minutes to the bus stop but probably less. We stayed on the first floor so we didn’t see fireworks. I’m sure someone will chime in with where to see fireworks.

Would anyone happen to know the earliest time I can check in to Pop? We are at Pop for two nights of our trip but offsite for the rest . Our trip is in the Fall when there is morning extra magic hours every day at three parks. I’d like to take full advantage of the three mornings I qualify for EMH. But I don’t know when I will be able to check in. Can I go to the park for morning EMH’s or do I have to be checked in already. If so , is there any possibility of checking in early enough to make it to a 7 am rope drop ?

The front desk never closes so you can check in 24 hours a day. Your room may not be ready but you can check your luggage if you wish.

Just a heads up that the more numerous your requests are, the less likely you are to get them as the assignees won’t know your request order.

You do have the option to prioritize the requests so that the assigned knows what is most important to you and will check those rooms that meet that first (or should).

Example: Two years ago, I stayed at Sports. My request was something like:
“I would like to request - 1st priority: Surfs Up section; 2nd priority: Top floor; 3rd priority: Corner Room.” That way the assigner could first check for available rooms in Surfs Up, then narrow it to top floor, and then look at corner rooms. I ended up (via Touring Plans fax - they are fine, just do not contradict what you have requested with Disney) with Surfs Up, tip floor, one room away from corner. Fabulous!

This is how I have my touringplans fax made out. I prioritize it all. Last time I got exactly what I wanted for part 1 of our trip to pop - exactly every single request. Unfortunately they gave our rooms to the South American tour group so for our second part of the trip we had to move but we loved our second room as much and it was closer to main building bldg 3. Only thing I missed was walking by the hippy dippy pool very early to get my coffee (was in bldg 4 lake view). I will add that we had a 15 night trip so had to book two separate parts linked together. Moving was a pain but they felt sorry for me and moved all of our packed up stuff and even the stuff in fridge. I was worried about that but they did it perfectly

Just wanted to mention, they will do this for anyone changing rooms.:)

When we change rooms, they always tell us to leave everything we want transferred in front of the open window(with a note if there is anything in the Fridge)and we head on off to the Parks and everything is in our new room when we return.:)

Yes that is true but bell services was such a mess at that time I had almost no faith it would actually work out. I was worried about the stuff in the fridge not transferring or even worried about it not being transferred at all. I was very relieved it worked out ok.

I need to use a microwave to heat a small hot pad morning and night. Is it possible to use the microwave in the food court after the food court has closed? If there are extra magic hours, we may not get back to the room until late at night.

It’s all locked up after it closes as far as I know sorry.,

Thank you !
In that case we would probably check in at Pop at 4:30 or 5 am to go over to Animal Kingdom for 7am rope drop.
Wow. That’s sounding awfully early for vacation isn’t it ? :scared:

Just an FYI, you have to wait until the system rolls over to the new day at 6:00AM before you can check in. For example, if your reservation starts on June 1st you cannot check in until 6:00AM on the morning of June 1st. In order to check in at 4:30 or 5:00AM on June 1st, your reservation will have to start on May 31st.

I wasn’t aware of this. It’s s good piece of information to know.

Yes,the Food Courts at Pop Century and AoA do not allow 24/7 access as the All-Star Resort does because the Merchandise Shops at POP and AoA are "attached" to the Food Courts and they would have to station a Cast Member at the entrance to the Merchandise Shops over night if they left the Food Court open.

Conversely,at the All-Star Resort, the Merchandise Shops are separate from the Food Courts and 24/7 access to the Beverage Islands and microwaves is allowed.:)

If you do online checkin, can you arrive at 4:30 or 5:00 and check your luggage with Luggage Assistance, then head out to the park?
