Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

Stupid question but has anyone had Amorette's delivered to T-Rex/ (not just picked up and taken it with them)? We are celebrating our daughter's 5th birthday at WDW and she's asked for T-Rex for her birthday dinner. I've only ever had special cakes delivered to Disney restaurants so not sure how it works at the non-Disney run restaurants.

The cake featured on this week's episode of the Disney Wedding Podcast is a four-tier "Mickey's Delight"! The reception was at Tusker House...

awww, i love the paw print!

Help needed, please. My husband has left 3 messages over the last week and a half to order a mini 2 tier cake for my 40th birthday delivered to our dinner at Cali Grill, but no one ever calls him back. He then left a message to see if he could just get the cake delivered to our room at the Grand Floridian, since the Contemporary bakery isn't calling him back. Unfortunately, still no response. We leave on Friday for our trip. Any ideas??? We followed the calling instructions from Lurkyloo. We don't know what else to do, since they won't return our calls...

Did he follow the instructions specifically for the Contemporary in Post #2? Because if he's calling the main number for the resort and asking to be transferred to Private Dining, he shouldn't be getting voicemail, ever. Private Dining is open 24 hours per day. I removed the Contemporary's direct cake-ordering hotline number last year because they don't seem to respond to it anymore.

You will probably get a call back from Grand Floridian Private Dining tomorrow when the contact is back in the office, but if you still want to order from the Contemporary, you need to call Private Dining, NOT the Cake Hotline, and place your order with anybody who answers the phone. If you need to submit photos or get a custom quote from the chef, they will give you an email address to contact.

I’ve read through a lot on this thread but did not see the answer to my question. I have the cake topper from our wedding cake 20 years ago (Cinderella and Prince Charming). We are staying at GF for our anniversary and also eating at Le Cellier and Cali Grill. I’d like to have a small recreation of our wedding cake made (it’s a very simple old style white buttercream cake, nothing special, really all about the topper) with this cake topper and delivered either to the room or to one of our meals. Is this possible and where to I start?

Call the first number listed for the Grand Floridian in Post #2 and explain what you're trying to do. There's really no way for you to get them the cake topper in advance, but they can leave space for it when they create your cake. They will give you an email address so you can send photos and measurements.

Thought you guys might be interested in the new cakes Disney is offering with its Escape Collection wedding package at Walt Disney World. Although it seems that the more sophisticated and wedding-y the designs get, the less "Disney" they feel, so maybe you guys won't be interested at all! :rotfl:

Then again, they're still offering THIS cake, so maybe that makes up for it in the Disney Theming department!:teeth:

After several calls and emails, there was an extra charge to add the fondant to the cake (I had previously paid for cake with buttercream 2D print of Hitchhiking Ghost). However, in the last email from Denise today, she stated "Mickey took care of it"--no complaints here. Now I just have to wait a few weeks to see how it turns out.

Back looking for inspiration for my upcoming trip. It will be a multi-generation trip, but I would like to get a cake for my husband. His favorite "ride" is the People Mover in Tomorrowland. Ideas or creative thoughts? It would need to serve 6-8 people, staying at the Beach Club. Budget $100-150.

Well, I’d previously posted that I ordered a Splash Mtn themed cake for DD’s birthday (it’s her favorite ride) to be delivered to Narcoossee’s Monday night. What an amazing job they did! DD was shocked and delighted! 6-inch, extra-tall cake, fondant-covered. The logs were modeling chocolate and the cabins were rice cereal treats covered in modeling chocolate. Our server said that staff were standing and staring at the cake in the kitchen, they loved it so much! $195 and well worth it.

Is the chocolate slipper still available at CRT? If so, how do I order it and how far in advance do I need to do so?

Looking for Suggestion...we are on a last minute trip May22-24, it has been a very long time since I special ordered cakes so I am open to suggestions. We are dining at Le Cellier for lunch on Wed, Kona on Thursday, we could do lunch or dinner on Friday at either the GF/AK/HS if it means I can get cakes I want. Here is what I need, ideally two mini cakes one Pluto/Disney Dogs for Law School Graduation (will I be limited to vanilla or chocolate flavors?) the other cake would be R2D2 themed or slinky dog for a 5th bday. My first choice is Kona, because we can return it to our room to enjoy leftovers. If need be I am open to larger custom cakes, but there are only 3 of us lol. Suggestions please!

If you do Kona, you can work with Grand Floridian Private Dining on the mini cakes and should have no problem with the Pluto/dog theme. But you will be limited to chocolate or vanilla cake flavors. They can't do Star Wars themes anymore but they might be able to do something with Slinky Dog.

Hollywood Studios and Epcot might be more amenable to doing different cake flavors for you, and they should be able to pull off those themes (minus Star Wars).

Hello! Has anyone ever ordered a villian cake and have a picture of it. I tried searching and can’t find one but im looking for some ideas! Thanks!

For cakes from pop century it says the same as boardwalk inn. Does that mean i can send in specific request for a specialty cake like these pictured in this thread and they will work with me? Anyone have experience with ordering at Pop and having it delivered to the room? Thanks!

Yes, you call Pop and tell them what you want, and they get it from BoardWalk Bakery and deliver it to your room.
