Sometimes you just need to run away to your happy place ~ A March break solo trip! Complete 06/29!

Oh, I haven't tried this one. Sounds right up my alley though. If I can tear myself away from the zing I may give this a try!

Oh this is my favorite too!!!! I'm obsessed with all things fig. We made pizzas with figs, blue cheese, prosciutto, and of course arugula the other night and it was so good.
Okay, now I need to replicate that pizza!! Sounds absolutely amazing. :goodvibes I think you would really like the Spice Trader. We are similar in our tastes that neither of us care for the overly sweet drinks Disney is so fond of.

I am loving your trip report! I am headed down for my first "sort of" solo trip at the end of July. My college age daughter has a conference and I am going to do four days solo while she is at her conference then she will join me after her conference. I love character meet and greets and want to see them by myself but I am afraid I wouldn't have such great conversations like you have because I tend to clam up on the spot. :scared: Usually my husband does all the talking.

I also really  love your Disneybound outfits. I really want to Disneybound for the Villains party on my trip. Hopefully I don't chicken out!

And I just made a note to try that drink you mentioned at Nomad Lounge. I love that spot at AK and it's probably one of my top spots to relax at WDW!
:welcome:, thanks for joining in and for your kind comments! I think you would do well at the M&G's. The characters make it really fun! I would talk to a post so I usually don't have any problem which is funny because I can be really shy too. Disneybounding is so, so fun!! Who do you think you would want to bound as? There are so many good ideas on the Disneybound sites on Pinterest and Instagram. I love Nomad so much, it feels like a whole other world away from the theme parks. :)

Still on the docket to see with the kiddos in the Fall; I'll see it before passing judgement.
Are all five of your gang coming with you? Or just the younger ones? I hope you enjoy the show!

Who do you think you would want to bound as? There are so many good ideas on the Disneybound sites on Pinterest and Instagram.

I am thinking Loki. He is my favorite villain (aka the best evil trickster) ever! But if not Loki, then I might try Tamatoa the crab or Gaston since it is for the Disney Villain After Hours Event. If I wasn't considering a villain then there are so many cute ideas out there. I have yet to try any though! Maybe I will whip up a few outfits for this trip. :stir:

I can't wait to read your next entry! :tigger:

I absolutely love Nomad Lounge and that bread service is a must whenever I'm there or at Tiffins. I got to hang with some of my dear DISBoard friends in Nomads earlier this month on our EPIC trip and it was fabulous.

Hmm haven't seen the new UP! show yet :scratchin I did like the old show and reviews of this don't make me want to rush to see it. I should try it, but not sure I'll convince the boys in July.......

Yo send one of those babies up this way ( but keep that nasty green stuff) :P

Great safari pics! Sounds like a wonderful afternoon!
It was perfect, thanks Alexis!

How nice that you had a good safari and the giraffes were kind enough to make it a little longer for you. :-)
The great thing about the safari is that it is a different experience every time. I just loved the giraffes, especially the new baby!

Thank you! Oh my gosh, Loki would be the best!! Side note, have you seen End Game? Lots of ideas there too! I am putting together some summer Disneybound outfits for my trip in July......thinking of Cinderella, Winnie, Aurora and maybe a few others. So fun!

Hanging at Nomad's with friends is always the best! We will have to see how our schedules overlap in July and maybe we can hang out there. Or you can come over to Geyser Point......I know you hate it there, lol!

Definitely try the new show out....it is fun and entertaining although it's definitely not the same as Flights of Wonder.

I plan on giving you the details of our days as soon as I have a semblance of what we're doing lol! You know I'm fairly liberal with my planning :) But since the boys are coming I am making more plans than usual so we'll compare for sure!

Late to the party, but going solo (4th time) in August. Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Yes, I did! Down 17 flights of stairs and saw all the backstage part of EE. Which for a Disney geek like me was actually kind of cool. They did give us all three anytime FPs to make up for it.

Wow! I feel like that would be a bit scary coming down from there!

Love when you get a good safari!!

All caught up. Your report is great. My sister (and Disney partner) discuss staying offsite, so I am happy to hear about your experience. I am staying at ASMu in August and took the Dining Plan for the first time.

I can't wait to hear the rest of your adventures. It's a wonderful way to gear up for August!

:welcome:,thanks for following along! My March trip was my 4th solo trip.....so fun to to have time in your happy place on your own. :)

TBH, it was a little freaky if you looked up from the ground floor and realized just how high you had been. In the stairwell it wasn't bad because it was walled in and was just like another set of stairs. It really was a great safari! :)

Ahh Dug and Russell, Safari, and Nomad lounge sounds wonderful to me!! Enjoyable day for you!!
I had such a lovely afternoon, thanks Caroline! :goodvibes

:thanks:, I am really glad you are enjoying the report! Are you doing a PTR or TR for your trip? Any big plans made yet?

Sounds great! I have the most downtime ever on this trip as I don't know how Bill will find the Florida heat in July. I think early mornings and evenings in the parks will be our friend. Plus Disney Springs is high on his list too, definitely want to check out some of the new restaurants/bars!

I was happy to hear the safari was a success! It can be hit or miss in the warm weather, sometimes the animals are up and moving about. Other times they are sleeping off the heat...And I bet the baby giraffe was adorable.

It really was a great safari, thanks! The baby giraffe was the cutest. I bet Evie and Landon would love him. You guys must be getting so excited!!

I've never done a TR. My sister and I spend many wonderful hours in planning our joint and solo trips. The anticipation is half the fun!

We certainly know our way around now but there are always plenty of new adventures too. I upgraded my free dining to include table service this trip. It's new for me and I'm trying some new restaurants. All reservations made and waiting to do FP in June.

So much fun!

Dessert before dinner is always the best!

After a little time relaxing by the pool back at the hotel with a book and a beverage, it was time to get cleaned up and head out for the evening. I decided to get a Lyft over to the GF as I wasn't sure if I wanted to hang at Minzer's or Tambu. I had fun wandering around the GF, listened to the band, browsed the shops and stocked up on my favourite ever lip balms at Basin White. Ultimately though, I wasn't feeling the GF vibe this evening and decided to stroll along the beach to the Poly.

The lobby was as beautiful as always.

I can't wait to walk through these doors again in July!

Soon I had arrived at the Poly and enjoyed wandering around the lobby and soaking up the atmosphere. They had a PP photographer right by the Tiki statue so I decided to stop for a pic.

I had one objective in mind and that was my favourite dessert ever. I hopped onto a bar stool at Tambu and happily noticed they had my favourite white wine available. With a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvingon Blanc in hand and a plate of Ohana bread pudding in front of me, I was in heaven!

I managed to restrain myself from licking the remaining sauce of my plate and made my way down to the dock to catch the launch over to MK. I lucked into a FP for the meet with Minnie and Mickey in their birthday celebration outfits and I was so excited! While I was waiting for the launch, Happily Ever After started and I had the pleasure of watching from the dock then seeing the finale from the aboard the launch in the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon. Such an amazing experience!
IMG_4025.JPG
Once I arrived at the park, I headed straight in to see Mickey and Minnie. This was the best meet!

IMG_4031.JPG

The park really wasn't too crowded this evening so I beelined over to Haunted Mansion and was soon hanging out with 999 Happy Haunts. After coming off the ride, I strolled over to the Tangled area and happy to see only three people in line for a lantern photo. So of course I took advantage of that and had a photo done.
IMG_4321.JPG
I walked through the castle on the way out and sent some time taking the details on the beautiful mosaics. There are some subtle Hidden Mickeys hidden in here too.
IMG_4033.JPG
I really could not have asked for a more perfect last Disney night. Everything was magical and of course I enjoyed "A Kiss Goodnight" on my way out of the park.
IMG_4034.JPG

Ultimately though, I wasn't feeling the GF vibe this evening and decided to stroll along the beach to the Poly.

But, isn't it great to have choices and be in a completely different vibe minutes later...?
IMG_4318.JPG
You are so stinkin' cute!

With a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvingon Blanc in hand and a plate of Ohana bread pudding in front of me, I was in heaven!

Ahh, decadence at your fingertips.

While I was waiting for the launch, Happily Ever After started and I had the pleasure of watching from the dock then seeing the finale from the aboard the launch in the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon. Such an amazing experience!

How magical!! That sounds just amazing!

I NEED this magic shot! Totally going to get one this Sept.

Everything was magical and of course I enjoyed "A Kiss Goodnight" on my way out of the park.
Of course. No better way to close out a Disney trip. :goodvibes

Wow, how cool to be able to see the fireworks from the water. Ya know some people pay a lot of money for that experience.

Once I arrived at the park, I headed straight in to see Mickey and Minnie. This was the best meet!

Oh Susan what a wonderful night you clearly had. Minnie looks so excited to see you!
