Upgrading to Park-to-Park at the end of the day?

Hi!

My husband and I booked a single day park ticket to UO because those are the attractions we are looking forward to ("new" HP section & The Simpsons Land).

We recently found out that the UO park is closing earlier that day for a Halloween Party which we do not plan to attend.

We don't know yet if we are going to have enough energy left after dinner to go to IOA so we are a bit hesitant to upgrade to a Park-to-park ticket before the trip.

So... Let's say that after dinner that day, we still have some energy left and we feel like visiting IOA. It is possible to upgrade our tickets?

Thanks in advance.

P.s.: we have done both parks in the past so it's not like we are really missing out on anything at IOA except maybe one or two new rides.

Ok so there is no limit on time...? Like... Let's say that at 6:00 PM we decide that we want to upgrade our tickets, they will let us?

Yes but you will kick yourself for waiting to near the end of the day to upgrade

When you upgrade, it takes effect that date
And, you could have utilized that P2P feature all day

I don't know. From a financial point of view, it's certainly not ideal. However, we've visited this park 2 or 3 times in the past already... We would most likely only go do 2 or 3 of our favorite rides and new ones (if there are any).

You can upgrade at any point, but it will not be prorated (i.e. if you have a 2 day ticket and you wait until the end of the first day to upgrade to P2P, you will be charged the upgrade cost for a 2 day ticket, not prorated for the 1 day you will actually be able to use it). so there's no BENEFIT to waiting until the end of the day, other than convenience of time for you.

It's a short stay so we only have one-day single park tickets. So... We only get to pay the difference for that day, right? (We paid 115$/pp for a 1 single park ticket. If the Park-to-Park tickets are 170$, we'll only pay 55$, right?)

We only want to wait until the end of the day to see if we have energy left to do theme parks after dinner. Otherwise, we do not want to spend the money.

You have two sets of single day 1 park tickets, looking to upgrade one set of them to be able to use at both parks the next day? Or do you have one set of 1 park 1 day tickets, looking to upgrade to be able to use a 2nd day AND both parks?

They are spending one day at universal.

They are considering hopping at US closing time to IOA.

One day non hoppers to one day hoppers.

It’ll be the difference between a gate hopper and what they have. No prorating.

Easy.

If a few rides at IOA are worth that amount to the OP and spouse, then it’s simple.

We are two adults, with single park tickets for 1 day only.

We'll spend the day at Universal Studios, which will close around 5 PM ...

We don't know yet if we will have the energy to go to Island of Adventure after dinner, so we do not want to spend the money in advance to upgrade from single park to park-to-park.

Gotcha - sounds like your question has been answered then, and it's really just a matter of whether the upgrade cost is worth what you can get done between 5/6pm and closing of IoA to YOU. Either way hope you have a great visit!

Thank you very much! :) They close quite early too, unfortunately.

I see IOA is closing at 8:00 PM that night. We are going to dine at a restaurant that night which means that we would have only 2 hours to enjoy IOA. Not sure it's worth the 55$ extra.

The new Potter Coaster will be there at IOA and that IMO would definitely be worth checking out.

I'm sure it will be nice but I'll have a hard time convincing my husband to pay a 55$ to do only one new ride (and by that time, I can imagine the wait will be very long).
