But I may also only be able to afford a short escape. So I was thinking of doing the Rome and Paris or something.

I've only done a few but have enjoyed them all (especially the discounts through the TA PLUS discounted gcs of course). I would warn you that there's a thread on the ABD forum about the after hours Sistine Chapel being d/c'd on the Rome short escape. Depending on how you feel about Michelangelo that might not be a big deal, but honestly my after hours Sistine Chapel and seeing The David were my 2 highlights from Italy.

That said, for exotic I'd think South Africa and of course the aforementioned China or SE Asia (all taken and written up by Cousin Orville on the ABD Trip Reports thread).

If I had unlimited money, I have about 10 trips with Tauck (similar in quality to ABD but fewer trips with kids AND slightly less expensive) on my Wish List....S. Africa plus Victoria Falls, Australia/NZ, sailing around Scotland, sigh...

So far it looks like our best option will be to take a positioning flight to Houston, then take the nonstop IAH-SYD flight. The good connecting flights from EWR that I have seen over the past 6 months have disappeared :sad2: Perhaps that's a seasonal change, perhaps not, but I plan on checking often for multiple airports. Our booking days will be in October or November.

LOL, since we have to position always, I'm hoping for IAH-SYD! I'd guess though that there might be more flights during their summer though.

Just thinking about manufactured spend. I'm in a position right now (unfortunately) where I have more spend than credit cards with SUBs. Everything seems to hit at once. DD20 is having surgery; my dog is not well, DD26 just bought a house and I'm at her apartment (2.5 hours away with tolls) every weekend helping her pack because she's overwhelmed with work. I'm waiting for the time when I will have to manufacture spend. Lol.

Citi AA Biz #2 just closed last night. $250 airline credit posted as well as 40k bonus miles. I already got shot down on a match and not going to try to ask again.

DH’s Citi card should be here early next week if not by Friday and I may use for 3 mortgage pmts for the 1% Plastiq promotion. My mortgage co takes partial pmts and applies them right so I may just put them all in June, just divide the regular pmt by 3. I like meeting MSR in one stmt on these.

so #2 was the public dummy booking offer? Was #1 closed or are both still open?
Thanks @StephPlum for sharing this info and @elgerber for asking these follow up questions! :) Given the uncertainty around AA biz card #2 and beyond it is VERY helpful if everybody keeps sharing these DPs. I'd rather us get tired of hearing them than not have the information. It will be so helpful to those pursuing future cards.

I'm trying to refer DH's Hilton Biz so that I can get the same Hilton Biz. When I log into the AMEX account though and go to "Refer a friend" it only shows the option of referring the Bonvoy and the Marriott Biz, no Hilton. Oh well, worse case I can use one of the links in Dischurners.

My silly questions, but you're signed into the account that has DH's Hilton Biz on it (not an AU account)? And you've checked the top right corner to change the card and it's not listed there? And it's not an option on the Hilton Biz account page above the Recent Transactions section? Have you tried doing it from the app?

Yesterday was our fastpass day, too. We got FOP at 60+3 around noon and SDD at 60+5 around 11:30. Hoping that it's not too crowded since it wasn't too hard to get all the fast passes we wanted, at the times we wanted! Hope you have a great trip!! And good luck with June.

Thanks. I know - I am keeping fingers crossed that the crowd levels are lower than normal - that would be awesome. Where are you guys staying? We have a friend who owns DVC so he lets us rent points from him really cheap. ($8 a point). Our go to is always BWV - I just love it there. Almost branched out and tried the Poly or BCV but couldn't do it. Went back to the familiar.

I just ordered DD the Out to Sea Dooney & Bourke Crossbody Bag for her 18th Birthday. It is so cute. Just came out last week I think. Wasn't sure if it would be in the stores there or not when we go in July so figured I would just buy it for her. This will be her 3rd Disney Dooney. Got to start them young...

We are staying at POFQ. I would have liked deluxe but inlaws are traveling with us and didn't want them to have to pay deluxe prices. I think POFQ will be a happy medium- not value, but still has waterslides for kids and boat to Disney Springs. Yay for renting points so cheap! I have not tried that yet, as we do not usually plan that far ahead (to rent points). I would love to stay in Boardwalk area, maybe next time.

We've just been home for a couple of days, but it was nice to see this morning that we got the $300 credit from our Lux plus the $40 one (stay at a Marriott) we added to the card. So $340 off a bill that was slightly over $600 for a hotel we had to book anyway? I'll take it. Plus 3 nights in NYC and 2 nights in Philly that were totally free!!! Couldn't have done it without all of you, so I want to express a big THANK YOU to everyone here. :goodvibes

Funny - you and I were doing the same thing in New York at about the same time. We charged $311 and received the $300 lux credit + the $40 Amex offer as well. Feels good to get that fee back! I literally said "I love credit cards so much!" about a half dozen times while in New York! :)

When I first started watching award seats last summer, there were several good connections through IAH from EWR and PHL at 80K for business. Now, they are not available for business saver seats on those dates when the IAH-SYD leg is available at 80K. Bleh. I can see them for cash seats. I can see the economy saver seats that used to be 40K---now 70K :faint:

I'm way behind from being on vacation and probably won't catch up, but I did read the reddit news thread (thank you @SouthFayetteFan and @Lain). Bummer about the Citi Biz bonuses not posting. 95 days for me will be this Saturday, and I'm not sure what to do. Is current consensus to pay for a mailer? If so, where do I find one?

Perhaps I should give up on AA cards and move on. Almost done with all MSR's and not sure what else to get . . .

I’m breezing through my Arrival+ MSR way too fast. Will likely be finished with it in the next week. DS graduates high school this weekend and his open house is Friday evening. Needless to say I am busy and spending like crazy. I can apply now for P2’s CIP2, but we’ll be gone all next week on an extended family vacation to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Not sure if I’ll wait to apply until we get back or not.

Had to call BoA this morning. There was a hold on one of my AAA visas due to a suspicious charge, so I’m having them send me a new card with new number. I’m pretty sure I used it for GCM purchases late last summer. Not sure if that was the problem but either way, I’m happy BoA caught it so quickly so it didn’t become a problem for me.

Trying to get the hang of using my new Serve card. It’s still good, my new card wasn’t shut down. I’ve loaded cash onto it twice just to get a feel for the transaction. Tried a VGC at Walmart on Monday and it didn’t work with the last 4 digits as the pin. I guess I’ll have to call and set my own pin for those. Need to zero out my balance before next week. I suspect my month will end soon.

I’m always reading here, trying to keep up. But by the time I catch up I’ve run out of time to post. Got a terrible sinus headache today and it’s slowing me down from normal activities. Nice to see @hulagirl back to posting. I remember your posts last fall because you’re a great writer! You’re not a freelance writer are you? (Good small business for biz cards I bet!)

You know you're close to vacation when American lets you pick your meals! Whoo hoo! 28 days until we fly from PHL to BUD in biz (thanks to this thread!). I chose diabetic for mom (she'll be mad but hey, she's a diabetic so...) and chicken for me. DD doesn't like any of the choices of course:rolleyes2 Apparently chicken nuggets aren't in the chef's repertoire, lol. I'm tempted to just order something I like for her since it's a known fact that whatever your seat mate gets is better than what you ordered!

Any ideas for what to put for a credit union on Plastiq? I need to put what services they provide, and we're paying an auto loan... I can't remember what I put for that on my business account and can't find a place to see that.

Neither am I. I don’t know what the popular brands are unless I see them often on social media. I don’t care about looking stylish and will wear whatever style strikes my fancy at a given moment. One day I can look like I follow the fashion advice of Chanel and the next day I look like I raided Punky Brewster’s closet. Yes, I’m dating myself here.
I feel like this is me!:rotfl2:One day I'm shopping for designer items, the next day I'm channeling Minnie Mouse with glitter
