adding days

Anyone have luck adding a night to the beginning of their trip (that includes free dining). It’s looking like flights are going to be hundreds cheaper leaving Friday afternoon, instead of Saturday morning.

It really depends on availability and whether they even have rooms that fell under the package still available. This late in the game after FD was released, I'd say it's not hugely likely, but not impossible.

I’m sure GE opening is not going to help my cause!‍♀️

That might not be as big of a deal, as they may not honor the FD promotion for additional days. We ended up deciding to fly in a day early and leave a day later, and just booked a hotel offsite for those days. It was cheaper than paying more for the flight even with the hotel cost!

No way to know without calling. We wanted to add a day at the end of our free dining stay and while there was no availability for that, I was able to add a day under the Sun and Fun room only discount. I called and linked my reservations (I booked the same room type) because I'm hoping not to have to change rooms.

If you can't get a room, I suggest an off-site hotel. We did the same thing our last trip, changing our flight to Friday night instead of Saturday, and it worked great! We stayed near the airport and had a free shuttle to the hotel. On Sat, we got free breakfast at the hotel and just took a Lyft to Disney (lots faster then Magical Express, and less $ than taking a Lyft from the airport) and were at MK shortly after park opening. I've seen some really good off-site hotel prices from Undercover Tourist. I booked our extra night through Southwest and got lots of SW points.

I tried to add a night this past weekend to our September FD trip. It was not possible as there was no availability at our resort (Pop). I ended up booking a 1 night stand-alone reservation at All Star Movies. For us, it's at the end of our trip.

The CM at the 'Future Stays' number could have increased my FD package by 1 day but only if I was willing to book at a new resort. That change would have cost me almost $2000!! I chose the option of moving resorts our final night and not having a dining plan our last day.

To 'add a day' to a current package it can only be done if an entirely new booking is available for your entire length of stay. It's not as easy as adding 1 night to the beginning or end of your current reservation.

This is exactly what I was afraid of....I’m still going to call, but I don’t have my hopes up! Right now the resort shows availability for the night I need, but I know that doesn’t mean there’s package availability. Here’s to hoping for pixie dust!
