Hello!
We are currently at Aulani and expect to have lots of groceries left over on Saturday May 25th. If anyone is interested in raiding our kitchen Saturday before 11am please let me know!
Thanks!!

Agree, that is so nice!! We arrive a week later on the 2nd, too bad we'll miss out!

One of the bellmen told me to just leave a note one the counter - the cleaning staff are happy to take your leftovers to their lounge (or home depending on how much you leave).

Yes, we normally do this.

Or, we leave some items in the self service laundry room with a note for other guest.
Normally laundry supplies, soap, drinks etc
Not so much food other than sealed packages.

Other people have also left drinks especially on the tables outside the elevators on random floors. Harder to leave groceries obviously. Hopefully they find a home. :)

Just joined DB. We'll be flying out tomorrow evening. Checking into Aulani on Thursday morning/afternoon. It will be the 4 of us (me, wife, 7yo and 2yo). We just celebrated our 7yo's birthday this past weekend, so this will be a birthday week celebration for her. We are booked for a garden view room, so probably not much space for groceries. I will message you once we get in to maybe take some snacks off your hands if they're going to go to waste. Thank you for your generosity and I hope you're enjoying your vacation.

We are in room 1089, call us when you get in!

We should all start this type of grocery gifting at Aulani. I personally will be doing this in a couple weeks :) Normally have a decent amount of beer and sealed stuff available.

Indeed. We've done this on many occasions, especially on Vegas trips. Leave our leftover handles of alcohol in the hallway. I've always wondered if anyone would be brave enough to grab a random bottle.

We're checked in to the 9th floor, but no upgrades available to a larger room, as this weekend is going to be busy busy. So we'll have limited space to take on any leftovers, unless they are non-refrigerated. Would it make the most sense to come visit tomorrow morning?

Enjoy your last day here.

I will be packing up this evening so that would be a good time to come. We are in a Grand Villa if you want to come check it out. I have bread, chips, peanut butter, jelly, and more. Anytime between 8 and 10pm.

Thank you Cynthia for sharing with us. It was great meeting you and chatting. Your grand villa was amazing and definitely grand. My daughter couldn't stop talking about it as we walked back to our room. Hopefully someday we'll be able to stay in one. Mahalo and safe travels.

I think it would be awesome if some of the local DIS’ers could figure out a way to pick up all those unopened leftovers that guests are unable to gift to other DIS’ers and donate them to the homeless. There was nobody able to take ours, and the lady at the desk was very insulting when I asked if they did something like that (insinuating that it would be too easy for guests to “do something” to the food that would harm someone). Ugh.

If they could work out an arrangement with Aulani to just save it all in a box somewhere and do a weekly or monthly pickup or something? I know the DIS’ers who live there have jobs and lives (easy for me to suggest when it’s not me, I know!), but I just wanted to throw it out there just in case.

I'm glad I came across this thread, we always have unopened groceries left too. Nice to know that you can leave a note and have staff enjoy... Thanks original post for starting the thread!!
:)
