POFQ - we will reserve a standard room
Can we request an upper floor in building 4 ?
Does building 4 have an elevator ?
Thank you

You can request an upper floor in whichever building you would like. Unfortunately it is not guaranteed. And someone may correct me if I am wrong, but I do not remember seeing elevators last summer when we were there. There are flights of stairs.

Has to be elevators in all hotels over one story. All of POFQ is great locations. There is no bad. It’s WDW best resort IMHO.

Yes, you can request a room in Bldg 4, upper floor. Perhaps also indicate why you want Bldg 4, such as "an upper floor room near the bus stop and lobby"

Yes, there is an elevator in the building.

. Seriously? Where are these elevators? I never saw them once last year.

Let's see if I can describe this so it makes sense. When you look at a POFQ building, look for a square part of the building that doesn't "match" - doesn't have walkways/room doors showing. POFQ buildings are each basically 3 sections of 16 rooms per floor, and the elevators are at one of the joints between sections. For instance, Bldg 2 is an L shape, and the elevators are at the joint/bend of the L, near the boat dock.

About elevator requirements, however - it has always been my understanding that the 2-story buildings at CBR and the Alligator Bayou section of POR do not have elevators. Is that not the case?

I only know about the elevators at POR. There are none!! I don't know why they don't have them for the 2 story AB section? I have never stayed in the Mansions part, so not sure about those. We always stay ground floor at POR due to no elevators and mobility issues.

The Mansions building have elevators. Like the buildings at POFQ they are 3 stories.

Old Key West are also 2 stories and don't have elevators. There are buildings with 3 floors but they have grand villas which take up 2 floors.

Lol that is hilarious and sad on our part. I’ll definitely be looking for them next summer if we end up going back to FQ. My two girls, my mom and I would trek up and down those dang stairs every morning and every afternoon after all day parks. You talk about a work out :rolleyes1

This is not a thing. There are many multi-floor hotels without elevators.

Many of the resorts were built before the ADA laws took effect. The law states that hotels with less than 3 stories are not required to have an elevator. Hotels built prior to the ADA laws with 3 floors or more can be exempt from requiring an elevator as long as its not readily feasible to construct an elevator in the buildings and they can reasonably accommodate disabled guests.

Take a look at his: https://www.portorleans.org/frenchquarter-info.php
Scroll down a little to the map and click on any building. You'll get a pop-up that show exactly where they are.

OLD ones...and certainly none on Disney property with three floors. Multi floors means over 2, so 3 and above. Anything built after the early 80's will have one. So basically, 99% of the hotels any one would want to stay in....will have elevators.
