Space restaurant

Surely if it's going to open in 2019 they need to announce it within the next 2 weeks or so, so that reservations can be opened.

We're playing with words. Is it suppose to to open sometime in the 2019-2020 winter season or the winter part of 2019 (end of year).
We know Disney previously said the restaurant would open in late 2019. We know Patina was looking for employees for a 2019 opening.

Either the restaurant will open in a month or two with little or no advance notice or it will open early next year.

Is this gonna be signature dining? Watched the the video the dis just put up about and they said it was but I can’t seem to find confirmation on that.
I don’t think they meant legit Disney signature I think that meant in terms of a must have reservation to Epcot.

I am pretty sure they meant that it would be a "signature dining" per Disney as they talked about it being 2 Table Service credits. But they were just going off what they thought it would be and/or that Disney could make it 2 TS credits b/c of how unique it will be and how in demand it is likely to be

There is nothing official from Disney saying it will be Signature level - though it does talk about the large (1,000+ bottle) wine list and stuff so they do make it seem like it will be pretty high end, so I wouldn't be shocked if in the end it winds up being 2 TS Credits, but definitely nothing official

I wonder if all 3 meals will be served here, just lunch and dinner, or just dinner.

I would guess that it will be a prix fixe menu to avoid cupcake dinner's like BOG

I could also see it following the path of BoG - starts out as a normal 1 TS credit meal and then it becomes impossible to get an ADR for it and 6 months in they make dinner a 2 Credit prefixe

So are we thinking this isn't going to open by year end? I just booked for early January and I'm thinking my chances of eating here on that trip aren't looking great

Its really hard to say at this point but if I were to bet on it, I'd say it will be open for your trip. I dont think the lack of announcements or the ability to do ADR is a indicator that it wont be open by end of the year. I'm hoping that since its potentially opening up soon around the holidays which is the busiest time of the year, that they just do first come first serve walks-in until after the holidays and then start accepting ADR.

The Executive Chef walked only a few weeks before opening. :magnify::scratchin
Looks like he stepped down in September to go back to a restaurant he used to be part of. They just took a while to post the job. Patina shouldn’t have too much of an issue filling the job.

Seems like a great opportunity for him. Head Chef at a 4 star restaurant instead of a Disney Park restaurant.

Well, I'm going to assume that the restaurant isn't going to be open by years end and most likely by the end of the 2019 winter season. I say this just based off the fact that Disney changed their wording from "end of year" to "end of winter" , the fact that their head chef has quit and the fact that Disney hasn't given any updates or any announcements at all which means they dont want any attention drawn to the restaurant. I'm only guessing here and I really hope I'm wrong cause I'm really looking forward to going to this new restaurant.

Later than most of us were hoping for, but at least it's useful to know that and be able to plan accordingly, thanks.
