What are your favorite and least favorite studios?

Just discovered the magic of renting points last month and am trying to decide the places I'd like to stay next!! :)

I choose by resort and not the room. But will say that BLT is on the smaller side so more than 2, unless young children, feels too small.

But, VGF and RIV are top of my list as well. My least favorite resorts is AKV, and I have never stayed at OKW, but those are the largest ones.

A studio is a studio, not much can be said pro or con about any of them. They are just a small room in a great resort. Pick a resort you like, once you close the door, you will have trouble knowing where you are.

Based solely on the room, I'd probably go with Poly or GFV for favourite though we haven't stayed at Riviera yet which could be up there as well. Least favourite would be BLT.

We don't do studios often. Not really why we got DVC (got it to have condo like unit with separate bedroom away from the 3 kiddos and to have a W/D and kitchen). But now our kids are all off adulting so it's just the 2 of us most of the time and we have done some more studio stays (but still prefer a 1BR so DH can work on the trip and have a quiet space for that).

I love the BLT studio. Love the galley kitchen in it so I can get ready while DH is in the bathroom. BUT it is tiny tiny. Okay for just 2 and maybe...maybe one baby/toddler. And not great for a long stay. The resort, though, isn't our fave. Too noisy and we're not MK people nor have little kids and strollers (big draw for BLT).

POLY studio is also fantastic and this one has space galore. Love the 2 part bathroom. Was especially nice when we stayed there with our 19 year old twin DDs. They had a bathroom and we had one. BUT it's another noisy resort. Doors slamming and kids running in the halls. Plus, again, we're not MK people. But the resort is lovely...theme and dining wise. Though these rooms are also point eaters.

OKW is nice because 2 real beds and spacious as well as being low point cost. But the resort is not a fave of ours. Resort is just like any condo property one might live in. Kinda boring and no walking to a park or DS.

SSR, BWV, BRV, BCV are all kinda similar. We like SSR resort for the walk to DS now that we're older empty nesters and like to chill and eat and drink and people watch. We own BWV and LOVE this location being we're BIG Epcot and festival fans and people who prefer to walk to parks. LOVE BCV location most. BUt being a BWV owner, we can get standard view at BWV and it really is THE best deal going. But we have had trouble, even as an owner, getting a standard view studio right at 11 months window. We get it about 60% of the time.

BCV vs BWV...BCV has better parking and pool. And is quieter and closer to our beloved Epcot. BUT BCV resort is smaller and tough to book as a non owner. And, as a BWV owner, I can save points if we get standard view at BWV.

CCV. These are LOVELY studios. We own a small contract there and stayed in a studio and they are new and fresh and beautiful. BUT they are also tough to get, even as an owner. Particularly, Nov and Dec. I enjoy this resort too (all of Wilderness Lodge). But can't walk to anywhere.

AKV. They are also beautiful. Standard view is easy to get and not bad point cost. But we love savannah view. Love to sit on balcony in morning with coffee or evening with glass of wine. Just adore it. BUT the busing from there can be a nightmare at times. After a long day at MK you might be stuck standing for the long slow drive back. And sometimes you sit and wait forever for the bus. Ugghh. So we do AKV occasionally to get our fix. And many times we do it as a split stay with BWV or SSR.

RR and VGF. Have not tried them at all yet. Have 1 night in 1BR at VGF coming up, split with 3 nights at BCV in a 1BR.

I think the answer may change depending on the number of people you will have in the room.
I love the BLT layout. The kitchenette has a lot of separation, so you can make coffee or toast and not disturb the people in the room. However, the room itself is pretty tight with 4.
I also love AKV. It is great to watch the animals with a cup of coffee while the kids sleep.

All the studios are pretty similar so really, just pick the resort that looks most appealing to you! I love the studios where the bathroom is separated so that 2 people can shower at the same time- GF, Poly, Riviera, and maybe some others. Riviera is newly done so we really enjoyed staying in a fresh, clean, updated room there. I would choose based on the resort instead of the studio itself.

Best: Vero Beach Inn Rooms, VGF, Poly

Honorable Mention: I really like BLT studios. Yes, they are smaller, but they are very well laid out. (Poly, for instance, has a lot of wasted space in one of the bathrooms)

Not my favorites: Vero Beach Studios, OKW - Just don't care for the layout...

Actually, PVB has the largest studios at 465sf (tho much of it is taken by the bathroom), then RIV at 423sf. OKW studios are 390sf.
Personally, the only studio we don't care for is OKW - it's too much like a hotel room with no sofa, & 2 beds taking up much of the floor space.

Among the WDW options:

Favorites: Poly, AKV, BRV/CCV
Good/Great: BCV, BWV
Poor: BLT
Unknown: OKW, SSR, VB, VGF

We find the Poly to be the perfect combination of a great room at a great resort in a great location. AKV's location is tough if you're hitting the parks hard, but our last trip was of the no-parks variety and AKV couldn't be beat. We also love the theme at the Wilderness Lodge (looking forward to more trees growing back!).

We love the Crescent Lake area, but the studios themselves at BCV and BWV aren't as nice as the Poly and the resorts aren't as breathtaking as AKV.

BLT was not our favorite resort in terms of the theme, but we enjoyed the resort substantially more than we expected too. However, the rooms at BLT are snug with a theme that felt un-Disney-like for us.

YMMV!

BLT is my favorite. Nice layout. Convenience to MK, monorail to Epcot. Poly is nice but pricey as hell. Really enjoy AK, but has to be Savanna view. Last time in Sarratoga the room really looked worn, will be interested if it is more enjoyable now that they are doing a refurb. OKW was ok, big rooms, but you better make sure you have a car as waiting on Bus is not my cup of tea.

Well, just as I predicted, I've seen the studios at the same resort as someone's favorite, then least favorite by someone else-OKW. And someone said the Poly studios were their favorite, but their my least favorite. My favorite are BCV. OK-where's the person who's going to say that BCV has their least favorite studios?

BCV/ BWV/ BRV and SSR are all the same room design and are within 4 square feet of each other.

PVB - specifically the 3rd floor on the Northwest corner of Tokelau. It's a Standard view, but the 5 or so units in the NW corner have a nice view of GF and a partial view of the castle & fireworks.

I love the PVB studios in general - two bathrooms in a studio + Lilo & Stitch murphy bed + the best resort themeing & decor at WDW - but if you can snag one of those rooms it's a whole other level of awesome.

Two bathing areas in a studio and only one toilet.
