11 yr old not liking adult menus, flexibility question.

We've had no problem at all with our kids ordering from the kids' menu (not buffets or prix fixe), even when our pickiest was as old as about 16. If a server had ever insisted on charging more for this, I would have expressed my disappointment, paid the extra amount, and then subtracted that...

Spinoff: Worst Songs of the 70's and 80's

What does it say about me that I scrolled through this thread saying “Great song!” repeatedly?

    My unpopular opion

I bet Toy Story 4 is better than Superman 4.

They are one of the Disney restaurants that serves a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal.

Could not get back to sleep

I have trouble sleeping the night before getting up for making ADRs or FP reservations. It's like when I know I have an early flight the next day and am nervous that I will sleep through the alarm.

US Women's National Soccer Team controversy

Running up the score is perfectly acceptable, and expected, in a group-stage soccer match where goal difference is often an important tie-breaker. But those over-the-top celebrations were obnoxious and unprofessional.

How do you combat your Disney blues?

Nothing beats listening to the Epcot Innoventions music loop for me. One of my favorite ever pieces of Disney music.

Can I go straight from airport?

You can use a luggage shipping service to send your bags to the hotel a couple of days ahead of time. We have used Luggage Free in the past, who picks up from our home, wraps the luggage in plastic, and ships it. Or you can send it by UPS yourself. Then just bring a very small bag on the plane...

DL annoyances and peeves. This is largely meant to be fun. Please add your own (unless I've covered absolutely everything ;-)).

People walking backwards without looking (usually when taking photos). Hint: DL is not the best place in the world to be walking backwards.

Dressing "too provocatively" at Golden Corral

As someone who has never visited a buffet outside of Disney, I’ve always kind of assumed that Golden Corral is similar to Chef Mickey’s, but without the characters. Reading this thread, I’m starting to think I may have been a bit off the mark in this assumption.

    Your best corny joke/riddle

What do you call a deer with no eyes? No-eye deer.

Dressing "too provocatively" at Golden Corral

One time I went to a restaurant where, unbeknownst to me, jackets were required for gentlemen, and I wasn’t wearing one, but fortunately the restaurant kept a couple of spare jackets on hand for people to borrow when needed. If this Golden Corral similarly had some relaxed fit muumuu dresses...

Which hotels are actually at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

When I first heard about the Animal Kingdom Lodge all those years ago my reaction was "that's so nice to be able to walk to Animal Kingdom!" I was very disappointed to find out that you need to take a bus there!

What do you think is the nicest (fanciest) restaurant besides V&A?

Monsieur Paul. Monsieur Paul serves Paul Bocuse's most famous dish, the Soupe aux truffes V.G.E.. Named for Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (the VGE in the title and the French President in the mid-1970s when Bocuse created the dish), the soup offers beef broth and finely diced oxtail, carrots, onions...

    A little scared.....

Do all you can to persuade your grandpa to agree to a scooter rental. Emphasize how much walking is involved.

I will get flamed or ridiculed for this, but here goes anyway...

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think there should be a charge for these events. A small charge but enough to encourage people to only register if they definitely plan to go, and refundable so that people are more likely to return tickets that they won’t use, so others can use them. Maybe...
