    The Running Thread - 2019

ATTQOTD: I have not, and don't really plan on doing one. I have lots of friends that have done Galveston 70.3 and the Woodlands IM, and the amount of time they put in for the swim and bike portion is not something I want to invest in.....plus I think I would drown on the swim since the...

ATTQOTD: Halfsies for me. I will try a couple of more fulls, but the Half is the winner by a little distance over the 10 mile. Half and 10 can be a good hard race and not be dead for the rest of the day.

ATTQOTD: Looks like the rain is going to be gone from my part of Houston this evening, so I will run. Had the running clothes out this morning for a run, and looked at the radar at 3:30am and promptly reset my alarm for an extra hour of sleep....too much red on the screen to have an enjoyable...

ATTQOTD: Probably the World Endurance Championship 6 hour race at COTA several years back. My son wanted to go, and it was pretty amazing how quickly the 6 hour race went by. With 4 levels of cars racing at the same time, it was never boring, and good racing throughout. Being able to move...

ATTQOTDs: Weather - hot/humid/sucks time mgmt: I usually hit the streets between 4:30 and 6, so I get the run out of the way before work/family time. this way, during the week, I can spend time with family, but since the boys are older and spend all their time in their rooms, I am not sure...

ATTQOTD: I have the Fenix 3 HR and love it. THere is more stuff on it that I have never used, but have been very happy with it. The optical HR bump is the only thing I have against it.

    The Running Thread - 2019

ATTQOTD: No big goals at this time. This is a year to run fewer races and to not be focused on a big goal, as I did last year going all-in on a big Half PR. Jan 2021 is my current long-term goal for my next BQ attempt....

ATTQOTD: Yep, certainly a little crazy. I have had coworkers comment on some of the things like running in the rain, running when it is below freezing, running when it is over 100. This morning I call myself crazy for having a Skunk pace me for about 10 yards this morning when it was wanting...

ATTQOTD: Interesting question. Based on results only, it looks like my best is Rhythm and Blues Qtr marathon in 2017 where I finished 7/724 and my worst is Woodlands marathon where I finished 463/1236. This is the type of question where athlinks.com is very helpful....

ATTQOTD: On Disney Property, I have done the Fort Wilderness streets, and was great for making up a decent sized run, however, I did not take the trail to the Wilderness Lodge. I have also stayed at the Good Neighbor hotels while in Orlando and have run up and down Hotel Plaza Blvd./Buena...

ATTQOTD: I starting running in cheapo Target socks, and soon realized I should probably run in something else. I used socksaddict.com to order a wide array of brands to see what I liked best, and for awhile Balega Hidden Comfort were my go-to. Now-a-days, for races, I like the Wrightsock...

ATTQOTD: I am currently running in Brooks Glycerin 15 and Levitate v1 (and have one of each in the closet waiting). For Speed work and races I use NB Zante (v2 I think). I have gone through many different brands over the years, and some worked ok, and some not so much. My oldest usually...
