Drives me crazy when they just change room categories whenever needed! :sad2: I would LOVE to know how to get an "official" map so that when this happens we can refer to it. Did you both get points returned since you paid for a Lake View but were assigned a Standard?

Moving to Florida with Autistic DS22

Thank you. I have heard back from the Arc of StJ's. They told me what the process is. And there is a waiting list for the Medicaid Waiver Service, tho I don't know what the wait is at this point in time. I need to reach out to the Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida and go from...

Moving to Florida with Autistic DS22

I can remember a family also moving back to MA from Florida. Their kids were school age and didn't get the services they needed. I thought for sure there would be a day program for adults 22 and older (and not needing to be on a waitlist). I am meeting up with DDS in a couple of weeks to see...

Moving to Florida with Autistic DS22

Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of. We are so worried about his welfare, and want him to have a fulfilling life. I'm still hoping to get info somehow somewhere, from someone living in either that area or in Florida at least. We have at least a year but don't want to get our hopes up if it...

    Austism: refuses to travel anymore

Yes. They still go thru a complete screening. TSA workers are much more sensitive around our special needs children when they are made aware of the situation, and it is greatly appreciated. We have never used TSA Cares, wish we had known about it when our son was younger....we could have...

Yup, I've been "watching" and commenting on this particular thread for years. If someone comments I'll get an alert. However, if I want to refer back to this thread and no one has commented in a while I have to search for it (and my memory doesn't serve me as well as it used to lol), plus when...

Don't know why this thread doesn't show up in my conversations. Anybody know how I can refer to it right away? I always have to search page after page for it. I used to be able to go to my profile and find old threads, but for some reason nothing is showing up. Thoughts anyone?

Moving to Florida with Autistic DS22

We are considering a move to Florida next year when our autistic son ages out at 22. One of his issues being sensory in that even in the winter he wears t-shirts and shorts. We live in MA, and with all the shoveling we do, even bundling him up to go outside he wouldn't know if his feet/hands...

    Austism: refuses to travel anymore

One of the main reasons we will never go on a Cruise. We do not know what to expect with our son. Even staying in Disney. We have in the past made reservations for split stays to try different resorts. Our son loved the Contemporary, so years ago we would book one resort for the first half...
