places you love but wouldn't live there permanently?

Las Vegas. Though any city really. At this age I just want space and quiet.

the last home you went in which wasn't your own gets offered to you in a swap deal , would you say yes?

Definitely yes, as long as I didn't have to pay the property taxes/maintenance. That would put me out of the running! I love our house but it's a very average (but updated) 1600 sq foot subdivision house in a small town. Though we do have a nice lot backing up to the woods with a lot of...

When you voted for the very first time, what was your immediate feeling?

I was excited to vote. But I also had a really bad cold (flu?) and felt so bad I was just relieved to be done waiting and out of the hot, stuffy school gym so I could go home and rest.

What is the minimum and maximum you are willing to spend on a hotel room for general vacations?

Really? We are going on our first trip to Europe (Venice and Rome) next year and are staying in three star hotels and they are ranging around $250-$300 a night. They have good reviews, I hope they decent. For various reasons we have decided to spend more on our flight so we can recline and...

What is the minimum and maximum you are willing to spend on a hotel room for general vacations?

It depends. But these days we tend to rent via VRBO etc for anything longer than a night or two. Even long weekends we will often use them. We mostly use hotels for one night on road trips. We try to stick to around $200-$250. Preferably closer to $200 or even a little less if possible...

WDW parks with genie+ and staying off site, reviews?

I hope this is ok to ask here, I'm finding it difficult to get good input on what it's currently like staying offsite now that genie+ has replaced FP. Has anyone been recently and can tell us your experiences with rope drop (that isn't really rope drop now for off site), getting genie+ and...

When do you fill up your gas tank?

When the light goes on. However we usually use my car on the weekends or whenever we go out together and dh usually fills it up then. Or when he washes it on the weekend, he'll often fill it up for me then. I had to do it myself yesterday on the way home from work as I wouldn't have made it...

What is the best/worst thing about living in your home?

Best: Quiet, lots of wildlife, nice neighbors, plenty of space for our small family, near my parents and other family members, close enough to stores, but far enough away to be far from the traffic, safe. Worst: Far from my job (thankfully can work from home now a couple days a week), little...

Easier to get ADR for party of two or four?

We are staying off site and we are still not sure what days we will be in what parks etc (so overwhelmed by everything now). So I haven't made any dining reservations yet. There are only two we are hugely interested in and one (CP breakfast buffet) is not yet available. The other is Story...

Spin-Off of Shoe/Bathroom Threads - Do You Have Company?

We have some people over regularly. My parents, sister, and nephew come over for holidays/birthdays and occasional family dinners. We have dh's aunt and uncle over a couple of times a year for dinner. Every other years we host his side of the family (what's left, his parents and...

    Wacky weddings

About six months after we got married, we attended the wedding of one of my cousins out of state. Almost the whole extended family was there. My cousin was the groom. My other cousin, his younger brother has had a few run ins with the law, spent some time in prison, addiction issues etc. He...

awkward situation: no shoes at baby shower

We have wood floors and live in MI. Almost everyone takes their shoes off, but if not, we don't insist on it. In our previous home we had carpet and I don't remember anyone not taking their shoes off immediately except for sometimes dd's friends as clueless children and I would tell them to...

    Housing trends you dislike?

I LOVE an attached garage. Our first house which we ended up living in FAR FAR longer than planned, had a detached garage. In Michigan. It was horrible. We moved four years ago into a much nicer house all around but with an attached garage. It is a dream to not have to deal with the...

    Where is your next vacation?

Las Vegas right after Christmas and then WDW in March. And then an all inclusive in Mexico in June. Nothing after that planned as I'll be low on vacation days and will have to save up more (and more money lol).

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

We are people who stay off site. We are doing so again in early March (6-11). Normally we use touring plans, rope drop and FP to do what we need to do. Dh is also not a huge Disney fan so he prefers to get there early and head back to our condo mid/late afternoon. I fear our normal tactics...

Which water park should our group visit?

Going in early March with another family, staying at Windsor Hills in a pool home (we've stayed there before). We have one non Disney park day planned and we're thinking we might like to do a water park. We will have four middle age adults and four college age young adults. Us parents would...

What kind of candy are you giving out for Halloween?

We bought four variety bags with different types of chocolate and non chocolate candy. I'll need to go buy more. As were put them in baggies and just hand each kid one of those. I know there are Twix, PB cups, Kit Kats, Jolly Ranchers and Laffy Taffy. However we ran out of candy before we...

If work started at 9am for yourself ,what time do you arrive?

In my office, most choose which time to come in. As long as you there between about 10-3 for meetings, most can choose which eight hours they want to work. I work 7-3:30 myself and walk in right at 7:00 or a few minutes before or after depending on traffic.

Sick of being yelled at. Rant.

I'm so sorry. That sounds horrible. It's awful to hear how retail/service workers are treated by customers. I'll admit, I've had times where I was really annoyed by someone working at a store/restaurant. I have trouble even complaining, I can't imagine yelling!
