Wet & Wetter but so much better than Working!

Sorry this is a bit late but time got away from me... We went to WDW on May 14th returning on May 20th. We drove down from NJ and had a relatively easy drive. We stayed the first night at the Holiday Inn right near Disney Springs since we got in so late (did not want to waste a Disney Day for...

Disney 5/16 - 5/21 - Just about ready to go but...

So I am not sure if it is good news or bad that so many others have had similar issues. I chatted with someone again today at DVC and they confirmed that at least the hotel reservation is good. They said they cannot see the My Experience or can they see anything about the Magic Bands. I did do...

Disney 5/16 - 5/21 - Just about ready to go but...

Had an "odd" experience recently and just wanted to see if it was a fluke or if anyone else has experienced something similar. For a little background, this is not a dig in anyway at Disney, in fact, it's because of the usual high bar they set for service that this even stuck out to me as a...

    High School Graduation Celebration

These are all great ideas, thank you. I will take a look, the Villains one I had not heard about so I will definitely check that out. I am a DVC member too and just saw that they are having a special night time event at Typhoon Lagoon while they will be down there so that would be fun.

    High School Graduation Celebration

Happy New Year's All! My son is graduating this June from High School and we are sending him and three of his friends to WDW for a week in early July. My son has been to Disney all the time (maybe 15 trips) but his three friends have only been there once or twice. I have then booked in a two...

    Disney in a thunderstorm?

Try to stick it out and enjoy it. Many will leave the parks and provide the people who stay much shorter lines when the weather clears up. As others have said, it rains daily in Florida in the summer. We put up the umbrellas and hit the shops or grab a bite to eat or head in the direction of...

How to go from BC to GF?

Drive your car - short of that, you could try renting a taxi or taking the Bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hopping on the Monorail to the GF.

    WDW in 1 Picture Only

I wanted to try something new/fun (hopefully) while I count down the days to my trip in July. Each person may only post 1 WDW picture of anything they really like per posting and other people need to guess where it was taken and/or from what vantage point. Be as specific as possible with your...

California Grill with 1 year old

I have been to California Grill and have sat near 1 year olds that were perfect citizens and adults that acted like children. This is Disney and is meant for Kids to be Kids. We have left restaurants when my son was very young and we pushed him too far that day and we have stayed and enjoyed...

    Teppan Edu

I do quite enjoy Teppan Edo and while it does resemble much of the Hibachi restaurants out there, it is in Disney. If you are in EPCOT and do not feel like leaving, then this is a good option. I think the food is good quality and if your kids enjoy tiny onion volcanoes, then it is a fine...

packing food in luggage - tips?

If you have a car or can take a taxi, I would recommend going shopping down there. We always drive so we just hit the grocery store on the way into the parks. Makes life much easier and you luggage lighter.

Which would you go to, Epcot or HS?

EPCOT all the way - lots for all of you to do and enjoy. She might really enjoy the KidCot Fun Stops around the countries and definitely the Princesses.

    Should we buy annual passes?

To me there is little debate. As long as you plan to be in the parks longer than 10 days, it makes better financial sense to buy the Annual Pass. We always for this when we can. As for upgrading, you can go the first day or I think any time before you trip ends to upgrade and existing ticket...

DCL Newbie-what else should I bring?

So we have only been on two cruises but I have found you will need a power strip in your room. There are very few outlets and for charging purposes, it comes in real handy. We also had an inside room on one of the cruises and it is VERY dark at night so a couple small flashlights really helped...

    2 People, No ADR's...

I think you will be fine to be honest. You are not going during a really heavy time of the year. We have been very lucky and have even walked up to BoG and have been seated within 30 minutes so as long as you are flexible, I do not forsee any major problems and I think you will find way more...

    How much extra money?

WOW - I feel like I am really in the minority here, we typically bring about $1500 in spending money and another $500 for food and we are on the meal plan. We don't always spend all of it but I don't want to be on vacation counting each penny. My plan in Disney is to thoroughly enjoy myself so...

What signature would you choose for Thanksgiving?

I am always a fan of Jiko's but that might not be "traditional" enough for Thanksgiving

First time at WDW with kids

Agree with above but would also add in Pin Trading and the EPCOT funstops. If you have not been with a kid before, I just would not want them to miss those items. EPCOT also has Fineas & Ferb detective quests (not sure the real name) but my kid liked doing those things while we toured the...
