Looking for hidden Mickeys in Ocean City NJ!!

Old Salt, formerly The Smuggler, the owner of same who was cited almost every Sunday for Blue Law violations by opening his shop. Bob’s Lemonade. Back in the day, I sat on 12th Street Beach with the local Dun & Bradstreet rep. He would make his rounds up & down the shore and then sit on the...

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

Thumper_ehhhhh and TCD: you're quite welcome, glad to do it. A couple of thoughts: The Fort has approximately 1200 sites (between cabins and RV sites), so this would in some ways double the size of the resort. Packed in tight against Trails End/Pioneer Hall it seems like the Fort would...

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

I give you the cannon: The caisson or limber (ammo carrier to you civilians:rolleyes1): Bonus! The stockade play area: All from the porch of Trails End, November 1986. Regarding the California Coast resort: H1 is probably Disney code used to confuse those nosy Disney internet...

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

I can confirm that the cannon and the ammo cart stood exactly where shown on the drawings. I went thru our vacation videos, and found footage from November 1986 showing both. I'll see if I can get some image captures and post them. :)

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

Back to the cannon for a moment. Here's a pic from page 102 of WDW The First Decade: From the angle of the pic this wheel could be the ammo carrier serving the cannon noted on the drawings. :confused3

What's your favorite old FORGOTTEN Disney movie

No, wrong Gremlins. The Gremlins in Dahl's work are the little devils that aviators cite as the cause of any mechanical mishap. The actual title of the work was "Gremlin Lore". If you have acess to the book, "The Disney That Never Was", there are some pre production sketches and more background...

What's your favorite old FORGOTTEN Disney movie

I hate to burst your bubble, but Chitty Chitty is not a Disney movie. Released originally in 1968 by United Artists, it is now available on DVD on the MGM lable. The music was by the Sherman Brothers, and Disney favorite Dick Van **** was one of the stars. James Bond author Ian Fleming wrote...

    Old Disney Park photos

<snip pics> "Rap'n'Roll" pic looks to be at the old Fantasy Faire open air stage in Fantasyland. It was back where Ariel's Grotto was, all removed for the Fantasy Forrest expansion. Compare the "Rap'n'Roll" pic to when "Totally Minnie" was performed there.(1986) Note the greenery on both...

Old Characters - Name That Character - photos!!

Here's a few from 1985: First, why you don't see Brer Fox at Character Meals anymore: Dating this photo are the pipe and the ash tray on the table. Also note that the hat is an authentic Tropic Topper from Adventureland. Second, why you take the youngins to Character Meals...
