Bounceback, anybody been able to add days after returning?

Thanks for the response. I called and explained it to the CM. She was pretty pro-active, telling me it can be done, she can't do it, I'll transfer you to the department that can. About 15 minutes later we had the other week added to the reservation, also on the BB rate. :)

Bounceback, anybody been able to add days after returning?

Just curious about others experiences. We just got back from the world saterday. While there, I used the bounce back offer to get us a concierge room at the boardwalk. :) After getting back, I realized I've got enough days left at work to be able to add another week afterwards for just me. The...

BPictures Of Being At Disney World As A Wheelchair User

To quote Bill; you asked for it! So....... sorry yet you asked for it? :rotfl2: Really; don't worry one bit. You'll be fine! Have fun. :)

Disability Woes at New Year's Eve

Glad that your chair is working again. :) I've had the same experience when it comes to 'repairing'. NWA broke my powerchair on the way in. They sent somebody from Florida Mobility around. Well....... the guy wasn't very knowledgable, promised all kinds of things but when push came to shuve...

    Wheelchair questions

Think about being independent! If you can get around for a while with the chair, that's one thing. But think about it. You're in pain or out of 'walking ability'. For whatever reason you want to go back to the resort on your own. Now what? Or; you're all in a shop. The girls are looking at...

Mobility Issues - any advice welcome

About the flight; take these months prior to the trip to find out what benefits him. The days or even weeks before a flight are important also. Making sure he's in his top condition, which would probably mean downscaling his activities. Make sure he is as comfortable as can be at the airport...

    Incoming long distance calls?

Hi Dramaqueen, nop you wont be charged anything. My parents called me a couple of times when I was there (we live in Europe) and there was no charge. They talked to the front desk, asked to be connected to room thisandthat and than the phone would ring in the room and I'ld get them on the line...

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

True, there are more and more ECV's out there with tires you can't let any air out (or in). Has it's pros and it's cons. Even if it is possible, you'ld only want to do it if you can put more pressure back in afterwards. While less pressure reduces pain caused by bumps, it does make the moving...

How flat / hilly are the parks?

Lol Andrew! We definately are such a big danger when going downhill the monorail ramp. It's the only place around WDW I don't totally feel at ease with people all around me. I've got it easy, I did it in my powerchair, but with the steep ramp, the kids suddenly running in front of you or...

How flat / hilly are the parks?

It just keeps amazing me to read that some of you are able to get up the ramp to the monorail with a manual chair! Oh my god! That's such a steep and long ramp. Wow.

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

Cheshire Figment; they still are there, right next to room 3105. Or that is; in september they still were there. :) AK is the worst by far. Epcot has some not too nice bridges, but you can avoid most of them, whereas you can't enjoy AK without those nasty paths. Have you thought about...

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

No, I didn't. I had a reservation for a standard view, checked in around 6 pm and learned that they had decided room 3107 (preferred location, because the closeness to OPR) would be for me. I haven't requested anything for our next stay yet and don't think I will. It turned out great for me the...

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

Did you find the central CBR topic at "Resorts" allready? Safetymom posts great updates on there. At least the main pool will be closed, but I doubt it there are many rooms that have any view of the main pool. I was in the first building from OPR at Trinidad North (room 3107, roll in shower...

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

You're very welcome! I did enjoy CBR very much. I really liked the '2 holidays in one' feeling of Disney on one hand and coming back to the resort to find myself having a tropical holiday. The walking past all that beautfull nature and those beaches just felt so relaxing and was so beautifull...

Are the paths at the Caribbean Resort smooth?

Don't be, there is no need to. :) The pathway is very very smooth concrete. The whole worlds should be like that. ;) I didn't like one of the two bridges. The angle of it, combined with the material they used simply doesn't attract me in saying 'yippie' if I had to cross it multiple times a day...

    Adjusting External Doors @ OKW?

Good he! It made my entering and leaving the room so much easier it was a total different ballgame. To be honest, I don't understand why they still got these things standardly fitted in rooms with roll in showers. I mean, come on. Most of the time those are used (and ment for) guests in...

Taking my niece with Rett Syndrome to WDW, a few questions...

Here we go yet again. No the GAC is NOT a get-to-the-front-of-the-line-card. Not everybody needs a GAC. If your DN is fine with 'just' her wheelchair, than she's all set to go. :) A GAC is nothing more or less than a card explaining somebodies (not directly) nonvisible needs to CM's. For...

    Adjusting External Doors @ OKW?

Nanajo, I'm going to assume here that OKW also has those annoying doors that close on their own. Darned things f you want to get in or out while using a wheelchair, ecv. etc. Anyway, I had them dealt with during my last trip. What I did? Call maintanence, tell them what the problem is and...

    December 2008 Code Watch

Wendy, as far as I know you'll need the number now. At least my TA (not AAA) needed it to be able to book for me. You'll need to show the card at check in if asked, allthough some have posted they weren't asked.

I'll be gone for a while

Sue, have fun with our southern neighbours! If you get the chance, definately try the belgium chocolate and 'vlaamse frieten', both are yummie! You were lucky with your flights. Both friday afternoon/evening and saterday more than 30% of all flights in and out of Schiphol Airport were...
