@deerh The caveat is: Party Size Limits:A Member can register themselves and up to 5 additional guests (total of 6)—or up to the number of guests on his or her Resort reservation. The guest with the fist full of bands probably had multiple reservations or a Grand Villa.

disneynutz I don't understand how these events would be used to entice buyers to buy direct when only members who bought direct can attend. Disney is known for it's horrible web sites and lack of IT, it's not just signing up for these events.
