    Mother’s Day project at church

For the mothers of teens: What is the hardest thing about parenting this age group. (focus on the "Yes, it will get better" answers. This is a tough age group to parent, and at times it feels they hate you, they don't need you etc. But I hear they eventually come back to you.)

    I must be crazy……AUGUST?!?!

Yeah, it's a gamble going any time during hurricane season, but especially in Aug, Sept, and Oct. Those seem to be the months of the most hurricanes. Some sites say Sept has most chance some say Oct, some say Aug. There is just no way to know for sure if a hurricane will hit so if you are going...

Who Pays? A Going Out To Dinner Question….

We had a similar situation, we were going out with another couple who we were becoming friends with. Didn't know them very well and we decided to go out for dinner. Nobody invited anyone, we just mutually decided. I asked my husband if we should offer to pay and he was as clueless as I was...

    I must be crazy……AUGUST?!?!

Atlantic hurricane season is from June to Nov. The peak time for hurricanes is mid Aug through mid Sept. Those 4 weeks are when most hurricanes hit the east coast. So technically the beginning of Aug is not the "peak" but it's still smack in the middle of hurricane season. End of Aug into Sept...

    I must be crazy……AUGUST?!?!

One thing that someone up thread mentioned was hurricanes. The peak hurricane time is mid aug-mid Sept. We went one year in Aug and had to cut our trip short due to a hurricane. Just something to keep in mind, also you should keep an eye on the weather apps. This summer is supposed to be a...

    I must be crazy……AUGUST?!?!

It's definitely brutal. Just make sure you drink tons of water. We have seen people pass out due to dehydration. The sun and humidity in Aug is like being cooked alive. Make sure to duck into air conditioning and take breaks. Pack lots of sun screen and extra clothes as you will be drenched...

What was your favourite date night to have with your parents growing up?

We used to go to this fried food type of place where you would order at a window and the eat outside at one of the picnic tables. There was a big area for kids to run around and I used to love going there on a Saturday night. They also had an ice cream window and we always got to get ice cream...

    Pre Vacation Nerves/Jitters?

Yup. I never feel like I have enough time to get it all done, I question what we were thinking when booking the trip, who had the bright idea to take a 7am flight ( as I am running around the house finishing packing, checking that everything is off etc.) I worry and panic right up until we...

An adult threatened my 6 year old

I don't think there is much you can do at this point. You reported it to the store as well as corporate. They responded and gave you a gift card. You can decide if you want to continue shopping there or not. If you truly felt threatened or felt the employee was going to take some sort of...

    WWYD - convenience store mishap

I would not expect to have to pay for it, but would not cause a fuss if they charged me. Think about all the food they throw away at the end of the night. I think of it like if you knock over a jar of spaghetti sauce at the super market they come and clean it up and you are not expected to pay...

Places to visit that are not miserably hot in August?

Thankfully she is expected to make a full recovery.

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

I too hope they can now just focus on family and getting Kate healthy again. Thankfully the kids are probably used to public interest in them and the family. They know they live a life very differently than a non-royal person. I feel like William and Kate have been really good at keeping the...

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

This is what I was thinking. The chemo may be a precaution just in case they did not get it all out. I wonder if it was colon cancer. I just read that it is becoming more and more common in younger adults. Whatever it is, I hope she will recover quickly and be back to good health.

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

That's awful news. I am glad she said she is expected to make a full recovery. It makes sense now that she will not be seen in public since she is undergoing chemo.

    Easter Traditions

We are celebrating this weekend since it works better for most everyone in the family. We will have ham and the fixings. We also do a ziti bake with home made meatballs for those who don't like ham. For the actual holiday, DH and the kids and I will probably go for a long walk on the beach...

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

I think it's them too, but there are some things that are strange about the video. I really doubt the Palace would try a stunt like that. It was weird them practically sprinting through the farmers market with little to no security though.

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

OMG I just read that people don't think that video is Kate. Many have picked apart the photo and said the features are not Kate's and that the height is not correct and the gait of her walk is different. At this point it's just getting crazy. I highly doubt they would try to pass off a body double.

Should we start a "has anyone seen Charles" thread?

Princess Kate Picture "Kill Notice "

On the news they were making sure people would not expect her back to her royal duties right after the Easter holiday They said mid April. Who knows though, the Palace could over rule that and make it later.
