Please provide your thoughts on Gatorland!

We have been there 3 or 4 times and my kids really like it. The only thing to be aware is all the upselling, the base ticket is cheap (IMHO) but a lot of the other stuff is extra, like: Feeding a Gator, Gator Wrestling, Train Ride & Zipline. My kids' favorite thing in the Zipline but at $70 it...

How can I stay onsite under 14K?!

We are a party of 6 also I have never liked the idea of have 2 separate room since it is not guaranteed they will be connecting. We just recently stayed at AoA in a Cars suite (August 2016) for 8 days and it was great for our family of 6. The whole package was $4500, so absolutely you can do it...

Seeing Avatar movie before visiting Pandora?

I liked the movie but it is not one of my all-time greats, but it is definitely worth a watch. Especially since they have committed to making 2 more sequels and maybe even 2 more on top of that for a total of 5 movies. I think if you see the movie first, the land and rides are so much more...

Is Cabana bay the right choice for me?

CBBR is great and it sounds like you are on the right path with paying for the Express Passes. I think it is definitely worth it to stay on site and the bus system is great. I was just there in August 2017 and self-park was $12.78 with tax.

    2nd guessing my trip :(

I would run the numbers again but we drive down and we find that Universal is almost always cheaper than Disney! And I would recommend what other people have said, if you can do more days then you should not need the Express Passes. We find you really only need then if you are trying to do both...

So many questions about Spring Break quick trip

I hate moving resorts/hotels since it just wastes so much time, especially on a short trip. You might want to look into adding the express pass to your ticket for a day, March 24th (Saturday) is the cheaper than March 25-28.

Please help! I know nothing about Universal Hotels in Florida

[QUOTstayedz, post: 58671902, member: 392543"]One place that was recommended to me by Universal' s own in house reservations team was Cabana Bay, as my kids are 13, 10 and 6 at the time of travel. Appears to be a nice set up and the family suite option seems great. Does anyone have experience...

    non park attractions

One of our favorite things to do, is to take a day trip to Clearwater Beach! Also spend a night a night over at Universal CityWalk, so many different restaurants than DS.

New(er) offsite resort neighborhoods? I'm out of the loop.

We stayed at Paradise Palms Resort. It's nice for a large group and every house has it OWN pool!

to tell or not to tell???...

I say tell them but wait until it is closer, like a month or 2 weeks out. I always find it so much fun to be able to talk to them about it and show them videos about it. Half the fun is the planning and sharing it with them.

    Problematic situation - thoughts appreciated

I agree with everyone else, Go! It sounds like your husband really needs a break and you can just as easily get sick staying at home. Stop over thinking it, Go and have a great time!

    East Coast Family Trip?

There are so many options! If you want more Park Days, I would say do Universal for 2-3 days (My Choice). Then you could do a few days at a beach, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach or Satellite Beach and spend a day at Kennedy Space Center. Or take a trip to Clearwater Beach (Wifes Favorite) and stop...

    Touringplans.com work???

We have subscribed to them for years would highly recommend them. The ARD locator is great and we also use the fax service for room requests, it does not hurt to ask for the room requests you want.

Sci-Fi Drive in Theatre or 50's Prime Time?

If I had to choose one, I would do Sci-Fi Drive-in Theatre, one of the best-themed restaurants on property. I think 50's Prime Time is OK but it not as fun as Sci-Fi Drive-in Theatre. Sci-Fi Drive-in Theatre, simple good food in a great atmosphere, its a winning combination.

Hoop De Doo OR Spirit of Aloha?

We have done both SOA (twice) and HDDR (three times). HDDR is hands down our favorite, but we absolutely love the Polynesian Resort! The SOA is just OK but it is nothing special, but the HDDR is a great family time with good food. I would say go to the HDDR show and then another day the...

    Am I just cheap?

Disney food prices are crazy, but when you are onsite how many people are really going to go off site to eat, especially when there are plenty of good options on site but none of them are cheap. When they first introduced the DDP it was a great deal and very much worth it, but over the years...

Hoop De Doo to MK ?

Yes, you are correct, an internal bus that will drop you off close to Pioneer Hall. Have fun, HDDR is one of our favorites!
