Is it normal for doctors to book two patients at exactly the same time?

It's normal, and it's only going to get worse.

    Anyone with test anxiety experience?

ISEE is the other test I was trying to name. My DSs took the SSAT 3 and 5 years ago so my memory may be faulty. Isn't the SSAT scored like the regular SAT where you lose points when you get the questions wrong? In other words, it's better to leave the question blank than to guess...

    Anyone with test anxiety experience?

In taking the SSAT or the other private school placement test (can't think of the acronym), she is competing against the brightest kids in the world who are trying to gain admission to the most selective schools in the US, not just your local private school. Because the test is essentially...

    Humiliated at the Reno Airport

I question whether we were told the whole story. :confused3 The possibilities are 1) the gate agent is overzealous because parents leave their kids to go gaming at the airport, 2) Op and her dh were both gone for a long time (how long can it take to park a car at Reno and walk into the airport...

Baby naming pressures... Updated with PIC: post #71

Your baby is adorable.:goodvibes Our oldest child is called by his middle name. He is not the 8th in the family, but the 22nd! It meant a lot to my dh to use the name. Ds loves the middle name, the full name- not so much. Now that ds is a teenager, driving, taking the SAT, the real first...

    Crib/Pack n Play Activity Toys?

While it is convenient for you to have her play until she falls asleep or goes back to sleep during the night, you might want to consider that long term, she needs to learn to go to sleep by herself. Otherwise, you'll have a toddler taking her toys to bed and getting up in the night to play...

    Crib/Pack n Play Activity Toys?

I was thinking you were asking about awake time in the crib and pack n play. You wouldn't load up the crib with stuff at night.;)

    Crib/Pack n Play Activity Toys?

You are correct that by the time she sits up, she is past the mobile, toy bar stage. One, she could get hurt, but two, she'll be bored by it. By 5 months, I put in regular (not the hanging boxes) baby toys like the stacking rings, shape sorters, the plastic keys, blocks, board books, etc...

FB question...can I block some posts but not the entire person?

Are you not teaching your ds to be tolerant and respectful of others' opinions? Do you want him to be narrow-minded? Opinions with which you don't agree can be excellent teaching tools in learning to articulate one's own positions.

What would you recommend DS19 do?

Go to London. Delaying entry to the dismal job market is a wise move. He can hope the economy is in a better place when he finally finishes school.

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

Use common sense and you'll be fine. I trust you won't be out late, like after midnight. Everywhere that has been suggested is safe during normal tourist/business hours. I have not been to the Atlanta Monetary Museum but my DH went to a business function there and recommended we go. Of...

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

The zoo is literally next door to Cyclorama. :thumbsup2 Max's Pizza is an independent pizza place owned by the same family as the Max Lager's I mentioned earlier. The pizza place is next to Der Biergarten, along with Stats. It's a couple block walk from your hotel, across from the aquarium...

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

Your ds will enjoy the tasting room. When he tries some weird flavor of Coke, remind him that it's the most expensive Coke he's ever had and enjoy it.:rotfl: Tell him he needs to drink enough to justify his ticket cost. ;) I think it sounds like a fabulous birthday trip.

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

:lmao:The dinosaurs are the most memorable part of Fernbank. That's my point (there are other exhibits). I was there a few weeks ago with some out of town family members. The preschooler and kindergartener thought Fernbank was great. The 9 year old was not as interested. Fernbank shows the Imax...

Piece of Cake will deliver to your hotel. My office uses them for employee birthday cakes. However, they are not traditional decorated birthday cakes. Castmember's suggestion of 6 Feet Under is brilliant. Definitely fits your request for quirky dining. Now I'm thinking about another outing of...

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

Cyclorama, next to the zoo, is a good stop for your history buff. A unique Atlanta attraction. Also, you should go to the King Center. Atlanta's only "national park." Emory's Carlos Museum (antiquities, mummies) is Atlanta's best museum. 20 minutes from downtown. Jimmy Carter's library and...

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

I've always wanted to go to Gladys Knight's restaurant too. There's usually a line out the door. Go early. Warm Springs is worth the detour if you have time. If it's nice weather, Kennesaw Mountain battlefield is well preserved. About 30 minutes from downtown.

Any Atlanta Ga People On Here -- Have a question

Der Biergarten (german obviously) restaurant is walking distance (2 blocks) from the Omni. Pretty authentic for not being in Germany. Very casual. There's a sports bar/restaurant called Stats next to door to the Biergarten. Also, walking distance from the Omni. There's a sushi place in...
