On our last cruise (last January), our unsuccessful bid didnt come in until we were already on the boat and at dinner that evening. On past cruises we usually received notification 1-3 days before departure whether our bid was accepted.

Yes, this has been normal procedures for years. I don't think it is un-Disney like to ask you to leave after you have enjoyed your meal as the park is essentially closed to guests who have not purchased the separate party ticket. There should be no expectation that you would be allowed to stay...

As mentioned previously, Beaches and Cream is a reasonable choice. We have also taken the SkyLiner over to Riviera and eaten at the quick service there. Nothing fancy but it was relaxing and a nice way to check out the resort.

Never stayed in a GV before but it looks wonderful. We have only stayed in 1 bdrms (with a 2 bdrm reserved for June 23) but love the resort.
