Is the Grand Floridian Cafe any good?

GF Cafe is definitely underrated! At one time or another, we have enjoyed breakfast and dinner and it has always been great! Appeals to adults and kids - great service - fun to ride the monorail to GF and hang out in the lobby. In fact, I had and ADR at Kona Cafe for breakfast, and I just...

    AP and discounts

I can let you know soon! DH and I are headed to POFQ on Saturday with 6 friends for a quick F & W trip. Heading back to the Fort (Cabins) with the kiddos Dec 6-13. Played with the numbers a million different ways (and with an incredibly patient CM on the phone one day!), and we are going to bite...

A New Project: The 1500 Loop - Will My Tent Fit?

We were in the 1500 loop (1514) for 2 weeks in October. I requested the loop and noted the(enormous!) tent size on the reservation. Upon arrival, our site was ready, but there was no way in the world we could fit our tent on the sand pad. Yes, it was one of the largest overall sites, but our...

    Reservations Made

I thought I was the only one! We just left a week or so ago and had such a great time ( we tent camped) that i just went and booked another 2 weeks for next year. Thank goodness DH doesn't read these boards - every time we leave he says it's going to be 'a while' until he is ready to go to WDW...

Golf Cart Rental - What I Was Told by Bike Barn

We just left the Fort yesterday and the cart parking situation was like nothing I have experienced in the 7 years we have been there.... People were parked everywhere!!!

    Singing boat captain

He is awesome!! We chose a longer ride in his boat 2 nights in a row because he made our night end perfectly. It's WDW like I remember it....

    TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

We ended up waiting 35 minutes to load the ride only to have 2 screens not work during the ride.

    TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

I am standing in the FP+ line now -- been inside for 15 minutes and we aren't even close... It's the longest FP line I have ever stood in! Most people are not too happy.

    Impressive Turnover!

The 1500 loop cleared out this morning. My littlest and I are hanging out at our campsite, and I am impressed by the speed the sites are cleaned and re-set for new guests! No joke. Maybe 30 mins between someone leaving, the team showing up to clean, and a new neighbor pulling in.

Come Pack With Me (Pre Trip Report)

Hope you are having s great trip so far! I am thankful we got in and set up before the rain started! We had just managed to get the tarp over tent when it began.... Boy, it was hot yesterday! We are in the 1500 loop and we took turns running to the pool to jump in and cool off. Sitting at the...

Come Pack With Me (Pre Trip Report)

We also arrive today! Left Savannah at around 7:15a and just got on I-4. Kids are all sacked out sound asleep in the back seat so we are making great time rather than stopping every 100 miles.... See you there!

Our 2014 Trip Log: "Everything is AWE-suuuummmm!" Trip

We are packing up, too! We head out Monday and arrive at the Fort Friday, 10/3. DH is in charge of the strategic packing of the vehicle. I do the pre-trip planning, organizing, etc. I am in denial mode right now. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day!

Come Pack With Me (Pre Trip Report)

I will admit that I am a little jealous of Miss Beth! Although I love the idea of an Airstream, the maintenance would do us in... We rented an RV at the Fort a couple years ago and that is what really hooked us on WDW. Tent camping will be an adventure! We are driving down from MA (and...

Come Pack With Me (Pre Trip Report)

Packing right along with you! We are also tent camping -- arriving 10/3. It will be our 5th time at the fort, but our first time in a tent loop and I can't wait. Would love to meet up! We are bringing a projector to show our own outdoor movie or tvs, so please grab a chair and come say hi!!

We are! Driving - leaving Mass. 9/29 and camping at Fort Wilderness October 3-17. Haven't bitten the bullet for MNSSHP yet, but the older kids are signed up for 2 YES programs. Can't believe we leave in just over a month :cool1:

    Screened Shelter Pros and Cons

We bought this one with our trip to the Fort in mind: http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Hex-Instant-Screened-Shelter/dp/B00339C3FA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1403914019&sr=8-2&keywords=hexagon+screen+house It is big and sturdy and pretty easy to set up... But HEAVY!

    How far do you travel

About 1200 mi. for us...in a Jeep...with 3 kids. But we can't wait to tent camp at WDW for the first time! We have stayed in the cabins 2x and rented an RV, so it's time for the trifecta :) We have managed to go camping 2x so far in June and streamline what we are carrying. By September...
