Rise of the Resistance wait times

I'm a huge Star Wars fan but this experience is one and done for me. Thrilling the first time when you've never seen it before, but super boring even just the 2nd time. It's not worth the wait or the ILL in my opinion after you've done it already because it's just plain BORING. What a wasted...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Friday - Goodbye Mickey We check out of WDW today and have no park tickets. We'll have the rental car that we take back to the actual airport instead of a satellite location, and our flight isn't until 8pm. That means we'll have from the time we wake up until about 4-5pm to explore the area...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Thursday - Hollywood Studios As always, I will spend my last park day at my least favorite park. I find this helps my post-Disney blues considerably. I like to NOT end on a high note when it comes to the most magical place on earth. 😅 Genie+\ILL Priorities: ILL - RotR Genie+ - ToT, M&M, TSM I...

I genuinely need to try NOT to be that this time. Old habits die hard.

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Wednesday - Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is easily my favorite park. I cannot wait to share it's vibe with my BF! I hope he likes it! Genie+/ILL priorities: Flight of Passage Expedition Everest, Na'vi River, Kilimanjaro Safari BF loves roller coasters, so we should be able to get at least a...

    Magic Kingdom "Rope Drop Math"

Yes, newbie's not getting it is definitely a pitfall to watch out for. I'm going to accept that I need to have a VERY casual approach to this trip. It will be so hard! You'd think after 10 trips in 13 years I'd be over the Commando strategy by now! 😅

April 2015 - Our First Spring at Disney

I never did finish this trip report. I'm glad it's still here so I can read it, though. Three days after I got back home from this trip, I was downsized out of the job I'd had for 15 years. A couple months after that, my marriage of 14 years ended as well. 2015 was one of the hardest years of...

    Magic Kingdom "Rope Drop Math"

Rope Drop Math TLDR - When Rope Dropping MK, you're still waiting 2 hours for 7DMT, just not in the ride's queue. Is it even worth it? Also, the Fantasyland bridge crowd crush at rope-drop is completely obnoxious. I'm taking my boyfriend soon who's never been to WDW. I'm a commando-rope-dropper...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Tuesday - Magic Kingdom If I can only get him to rope-drop ONE day, it's gotta be today. We had a short talk about rope-dropping over the weekend. I explained the concept. He did not seem thrilled at all. So, fingers crossed that Epcot is a great experience and he'll be excited to get going on...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

First Park Day - Monday - Epcot I'm going to wake up super early just because I'll be so excited. I fully plan on getting Genie+ fired up and ready for LLs and BG set up before 7am. I'm not going to do an ILL this day, GoG spinning makes me very nauseous. I'll get a BG and let BF go twice. For...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Arrival Day - Sunday Our flight from Chicago leaves at 8pm. I'm no dummy, I know the 8pm flight will be the victim of every cumulative delay that happens through the day and we're likely to not board until 9pm. I'm hoping we land by midnight. I have a skip the counter rental car lined up, and a...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

Food Plans - ADRs SciFi Diner - I felt pretty lucky to get a 1:45pm ADR for SciFi Diner. In all my trips to WDW, I've never dined there even one time. For several of my Disney-loving friends, this is their favorite table service restaurant so I'm going to give it a try. The videos online must...

First Ever Romantic Disney Trip November 2023

I've booked a week long trip to WDW for November 2023. I'm taking my dashingly handsome boyfriend on his first ever trip to WDW. He is absolutely my Flynn Rider. We've been together for 4 years and lived together for three. Though not a Disney fan, my BF is a gifted artist, majored in Art in...

Boycotting Florida but not WDW, a moral conundrum

I booked the bubble, but I am still conflicted about it. I read the book "How to Be Perfect" by Michael Shur when it first came out. It really dives in to navigating things like this, including "big picture" consequences. I think I'll re-read it and maybe I'll feel better about my choices. He...

Boycotting Florida but not WDW, a moral conundrum

I get it, I really do. I never want to travel where I'm not wanted by the locals.

Boycotting Florida but not WDW, a moral conundrum

Thanks for the info, I did not realize that most of the sales tax goes towards the local community. I assumed most of it went to the Florida state's government and only a tiny portion went to the local county. I don't want to be a person that uses ethical gymnastics to find a loophole that gets...

Boycotting Florida but not WDW, a moral conundrum

I don't want to contribute any money to Florida's economy because of the way they are collectively behaving as citizens and the actions of their government that far too many of their voters support wholeheartedly. I want to support Disney World though. They're just about the only big business...

What are some restaurants you keep returning to?

I think this trip will be the first one ever that we stick to quick service. I guess that makes things more flexible because we don't have to plan around dining reservations. Too much of what I'm seeing at Table Service restaurants are things my teen won't eat or things I can already get at home.
