Have you ever been evacuated from a ride where you were at an extremely high point?

Not exactly the highest point, but we got evacuated from Test Track last summer. It stopped abruptly as we were just peaking at the high speed run. We were stuck outside for about 30 minutes in a soaking thunderstom. A little miserable, but also a sort of a fun memory retrospectively...

No More DME Baggage Delivery To Resorts

Like others, I hope this is temporary. I suspect it is a combination of staffing and expense with the sheer difficulty of managing possible COVID contamination (both to employees handling the bags and for guests whose bags will intermingle). At least if we have to manage our own bags on our...

Any rumors about price increases or potential new benefits for Annual Passes?

That's interesting, I thought I had read long ago that you could only carry up to 14 days worth, even if on property. Nice to know that you could book two stays worth close together, as I may be running into that scenario next year.

"Smart" Thermostat, tried and true recommendation

I have the Nest E and enjoy it very much. Programmable schedule, geofencing (app on your phone recognizes when you're within a certain radius of home and adjusts the temperature so it will be right when you get home), and integrates with their smoke/CO alarms.

Is it really that hot in the summer?

I can't recall comment as to your clothing plan, as everyone is different (I would die - 50+ degrees is shorts weather for me). I will say that you should (if you haven't already) look into mineral sunscreens (zinc or titanium oxide). They tend to leave you with that slightly ghosty/sparkly...

    We NEED churros!

There is also (or at least was when I was last there in December) a snack stand across from Rock N Roller Coaster (not by the bathrooms, but over by the pop up pin shop thing) that has churros and I think pretzels.

13 day trip w AP, only 7 days of FP allowed?

AP holder here - AP can only hold 7 days at a time, except when you have an on-site reservation longer (but only up to 14 day max). That being said, I do believe (though could very well be wrong on this point) that if you have two long reservations within a 60 day period, you are stuck with one...

Disney now charging handling fees for grocery deliveries

Tangential question arising from the story: I have a split stay approaching. Based on all of my prior reading, I was under the impression that I would check out of my first resort, and bell services at the resort would arrange transportation of my luggage to the second resort. Obviously I...

Typhoon Lagoon H2O Glow - thoughts?

My wife and I went to the H2O Glow Nights last year and have already bought tickets for this year. Also didn't need the admission to Typhoon Lagoon, but found it very worthwhile anyway. We got to ride the slides as much as we wanted without appreciable waits, leaving us plenty of time to enjoy...

Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

Have to say, I'm really disappointed in this. I booked a split stay (7 and 7) for our June trip under the premise that it wouldn't affect our ability to book FP+ for the whole trip. Last summer when we went, we had difficulties with a 10 day trip getting SDD and FOP fastpasses (even booking...

    H2O Glo Nights?

My wife and I did the H2O glow night last year (and are intending to do it again this year). Not sure what happens if there are thunderstorms and a cancellation is necessary (had perfect weather for ours), but I can say we were both big fans of the event - relaxing, not significant waits for...

    World Showcase to Disney Springs

Depends on how much (and which direction) you want to walk. You could walk to the front of Epcot and catch a bus to Disney Springs, or walk out the International Gateway and hit the bus stop at Beach Club (or Boardwalk) and catch the bus there.

Do you let Disney take your luggage from the Airport to Resort?

Always let them take the luggage. Only this last time (landed at 8:15 p.m.) did we have any issue - all of our luggage showed up, in perfect condition, but that was at 3 a.m., after inquiring of the front desk 3 different times and not getting any answer other than (the system says it is on the...

Do you have an arrival day tradition?

Usually, arrival day leads us to Epcot and a dinner at Coral Reef, with Magic Kingdom always being our first full day. This next trip, however, is just a long weekend, and with a 8:15 flight arrival, we're not going to be able to make that happen.

Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, which do you prefer and why?

My wife and I just did both last trip. I think we both preferred the feel/atmosphere and slides of TL over BB (she's not the big slide type, so Summit Plummet offered nothing for her). I loved the big waves in the TL wave pool, but I think we both agree that the BB wave pool was more engaging...

Best used cars at 100k miles?

When you're looking at that mileage - condition/maintenance records matter. Be willing to expand your net a bit as well - you wouldn't think it, but you can occasionally find near luxury brands that because of depreciation are far more affordable (I myself owned a Lincoln that had Ford...

What's your go to sunscreen for the parks?

Of all things - Banana Boat baby (lotion, not spray). I'm allergic to the 'zones (cause me to break out in a rash way worse than any sunburn I've ever had). The baby formula uses physical blockers (Titanium and Zinc), is pretty inexpensive, found basically everywhere you can find sunscreen...

***Official Candlelight Processional Dining Package Watch - 2018***

Add me to the waiting list - never done it before (or been to WDW at Christmas time). Planning on a long weekend down there this year since we bought APs this year. I'm just afraid it is going to release when we're down there in about 10 days.

AP Popcorn Bucket: The Toy Story Alien

I really hope this makes it to WDW this year for the open of Toy Story Land. I collect the aliens, and even bought an AP this year for the first time. If not, will likely have to troll the secondary market to track one down later...

    Columbus OH Hotel

I've stayed a number of times around Polaris - just off 71, north side of Columbus, plenty of shopping and restaurants. I usually stay at the Fairfield Inns and Suites there - not expensive, has an indoor pool if that's your thing, and has always been very clean in my experience.
