Trip insurance when paying with gift cards

They could ask for a receipt showing your method of payment. I vaguely recall looking for a credit card bill showing the charges after I cancelled a cruise for medical reasons many years ago, but I am not sure if that was required when I filed with insurance.

Here's why you should get a passport.

Yes, but that would still require passports for the kids, and additional cost. According to this article, the kids returned on a ship with their grandfather: https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news/west-bay/ri-kids-stranded-in-mexico-returning-to-us-on-cruise-ship/ It is possible that getting an...

Trip insurance when paying with gift cards

What auntlynne showed was that if a claim for the refund of cancellation fees is denied by the DCL-booked insurance, DCL will provide a credit for 75% of the cruise fare to be used on another cruise within the next year. This credit is explicitly not part of the insurance, and it would apply if...

    Wish splash pad ages

I strongly doubt they would check Key To the World cards at the Splash pad, which is the only way to check ages. As long as your older son is behaving politely, it shouldn't be a problem. The rule is to prevent older kids from bullying or bothering the younger kids for whom the splash pad is...

Private Transfer vs DCL Transport from WDW Hotel to Port Canaveral

Luggage drop-off is easy: there are porters outside the cruise terminal who will take your bags almost as soon as you arrive. The poster above is correct that in the past few years, buses from Walt Disney World have typically been arriving at the port early in the boarding process. DCL’s goal...

Disneyland annual passholder fights 1-year ban for selling tickets on eBay

I haven’t attended ticketed events at either Disneyland or Disney World, so I don’t know whether IDs are checked at entry. It sounds like the issue wasn’t someone else using the ticket, though, but that the ticket was offered on eBay. I can understand someone not realizing that selling a...

Internal AKV/AKL Van for Moving Hotels

I haven’t done that, but if it’s the middle of the day and the van isn’t busy, that shouldn’t be a problem. You will need to carry your suitcases up onto the van. You could also ask Bell Services if they can transport your luggage to the new room.

How is Dream different than Magic/Wonder (other than larger)

The general feel of the Dream/Fantasy is very similar to the general feel of the Magic/Wonder, although some locations are on different levels and different sides of the ship. One restaurant and Guest Services right near the atrium, 2 restaurants to the aft of the atrium One large stage...

    Room change, dining the same?

Changing your cabin location should not affect dining, excursion, or other reservations. I am fairly sure I have upgraded our cabin (and added a passenger) without affecting our dining time.

    Flight time from Barcelona

We have stayed twice at the Hotel Colon, in the Gothic Quarter across from the Barcelona Cathedral. We were able to get rooms that slept 3 and 4 people, but 2 rooms might be more comfortable with a 2nd bathroom.

    Gold CC traveling with Silver

Everyone in a stateroom can book activities according to the highest Castaway level in the stateroom. So, if parents are Gold and kids are Silver, the whole family can be booked on excursions when Gold booking begins.

Am I being too judgy judgy about owners who rent prolifically?

I completely agree with you. You are under no obligation to share information about when and what you are cancelling. If someone needs or wants the reservation, she can offer to rent it from you, just as anyone else can. I wouldn't tell her anything. If you feel a need to respond, you can wait...

    Trip insurance question

If your insurance covers pre-existing conditions, then a statement from your doctor saying he advises you not to travel should be sufficient. Ten years ago, I had a health event (not pre-existing) that put me in the hospital for two weeks 3 months before a cruise. My doctor advised me a month...

paying off the house do you get a deed

We received a document from the bank that held our mortgage when we paid it off. I had to call and ask for it. I can’t remember whether it was a deed or just a statement that the loan had been paid.

Can DVC members staying on DVC points purchase DDP?

DVC members can purchase the dining plan, just as other resort guests can. A ticket purchase is not required. If there is an offer for “free” dining with purchase of a resort package (room and tickets), DVC members staying on points are typically not eligible, because points are not considered...

Activities to do before sailing? Arriving 2 days before our sail date!

As long as you do not enter a park, you don’t need a ticket. All of the hotels, bus stops, and boat docks are outside of parks. For a child, I’d go with Animal Kingdom Lodge, which has areas indoors and outdoors where you can view animals. You may need to have a dining reservation in order to...

Activities to do before sailing? Arriving 2 days before our sail date!

There is a cost to park at most Walt Disney World locations (except Disney Springs) but no cost for internal buses, boats, monorails, and the Skyliner. So you can visit resorts to see the decor and dine at restaurants. Some resorts are along the same path, such as the 3 Monorail resorts around...

Activities to do before sailing? Arriving 2 days before our sail date!

The Kennedy Space Center is not far from the port -- that might be a fun day trip. You could spend time at Walt Disney World away from the parks -- miniature golf, resort hopping, Disney Springs. It will be crowded that time of year, though.
