    We're going to Universal!!!!

As for the AP: I know the fall rates are not out yet, but you could very well SAVE money by upgrading one of your passes to an AP and re-booking that RPR room with an AP rate. Just something to consider. :D

    Annual pass discount on food

Pretty much every sit down and counter service "permanent" restaurant on site gives the discount. Don't forget discounts on merchandise and Freestyle recharges (must be done at a "permanent" location, like a restaurant). I didn't save every receipt over the past year, but I am confident that I...

    Preferred hotel?

I know you have already stated you are staying in an Express Pass property, but I did want to add one other observation from my stay across both Disney and Universal properties. For Universal, Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls are every bit on par and above most of the Disney "moderate" resorts...

    Cabana Bay or Royal Pacific

All things are subjective and is really dependent on taste. For the last week of August, you probably don't even need the Express pass, it's really one of the slowest times of the year. But if you like the pricing, then you can go with it. As for the whole "personal opinion" and subjective...

HARD ROCK HOTEL INFO, FAQ and more........

Yeah, a cooler is probably pushing it a bit. Bringing individual drinks though has never been a problem for me, especially if it is in a tumbler or is covered in some way (ie coozie or sleeve on a aluminum bottle, remember no glass). I'm not leaving my room towards the pool area without a...

    Is volcano bay worth it?

Volcano Bay IMO is better than either of Disney's waterparks now that it is fully fleshed out and everything is working. Is it worth the extra money and day to go? Only you can answer that question for yourself.

Walking from Adventura to Volcano Bay, looks good

LOL! Yeah, noticed the subliminal mis-spelling myself now. I mean, the hotel is located on Adventure Way, after all... :rolleyes1

    CABANA BAY BEACH RESORT Thread..........

I think the limit for the curbside parking area at Cabana Bay is 30 minutes, though I am not sure how they would time it. Should be plenty of time to get a ticket activated.

Universal AP First Time Parking Question

There's also a drop off road right past the Hard Rock that drops you off at the resort security point by the Studios entrance. A bit shorter walk and less crowded security line than the general drop off point. Works good for getting an AP activated. Or, as stated above, go after 6pm and all...

Are tickets to just Volcano Bay available

Yep. Just single day tickets are available to VB. They can be purchased from the ticket stand either at Volcano Bay or in the garage prior to boarding the bus. No annual passes or multi-day tickets at this time.

Walking from Adventura to Volcano Bay, looks good

Hey guys, just back from a week down in Orlando and on one of our days we made the trek via bus from the Hard Rock hotel to Volcano bay. One thing I took care to notice as we processed through the security point at the top of the escalators at the resort bus drop off point is that the backside...

What's Your Idea to Replace Dueling Dragons?

Whatever it is, construction is well underway for it. Lots of cranes on site and they were driving pilings last week.

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

Didn't even think to look into that, lol. Nothing new beyond the initial line-up besides the things they were intending to complete in phase one. The funny thing about the seats is that I think your favorite seats are probably my favorite seats too! LOL! Closest umbrella on the beach to the...

    Security at Entrance to Parks

Actually, it seems even the boat launches are getting the bag xray machines now. We had them at the dock for our last two stays at Royal Pacific in January and at Hard Rock last week.

Please Help Me! To date, we are the anti-Harry Potter family!

There are a ton of other great IP's in the parks that are not Potter that are really well done. Marvel superhero island has great theming and the Spiderman ride is good for all ages (Hulk and Doom are more for Thrill seekers). Jurassic Park is well themed. The queue on the transformers line is...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

My most recent review of Volcano Bay: -the foliage is really coming in from when we were there last June. It's really growing into a nicely themed park. -also, everything looks so much nicer with all the construction either finished or nearly finished. They had Honu and Ike Moana down during...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

From being there last week, the opening procedures as they currently stand is they reserve a certain number of tapstiles for hotel guests and then have more set aside to start operating for the general public. If you want to be at the front of the offsite rush, I suggest getting to Universal...

I think I am crazy... thinking of Mardi Gras

Awesome! When are you guys going? We will be down a couple days next week.

I think I am crazy... thinking of Mardi Gras

hehehe. Yeah, Mardi Gras at Universal is more a "Season" than a specific event, especially in accordance to the traditional dates. I'm glad they keep expanding it and turning it into more of a thing every year. The concerts, the parades, the festival. Such a cool event!

Fast and Furious showing up on Lines app
