Ok... so get this... the mortgage shows up on my personal profile as well as DH's and while he couldn't pay from his, I was able to pay from mine... and we have the same number of profiles. 2 each. Doesn't matter why I guess. It's paid.

I did this and had no issues. I bought the gift card with a bunch of grocery items. It added up to a weird number and no one ever noticed. I wouldn't necessarily make a habit of of this, but a couple of times should be fine

Very thoughtful and informative post. I agree with your analysis. I still think in my particular case, DH can wait 2 weeks to apply and be past 90 days, so discretion is the better part of valor here. If I really needed it...I would risk it, but not for an extra 1k spend that I can make up...
