Did Captain Kidd's buffet go out of business?

That's quite the blast from the past! I remember when there were multiple Stovall motels and the distinctive look. When I was a kid, we typically stayed at the Vacationland camp ground so I can remember coming and going to the park and walking past the strawberry fields. As others have said...

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I would also add that something that skews perspective is that the length of lines to accommodate for physical distancing often results in people being along the edges of pathways where they wouldn't have been before.

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

I will be honest in saying that I'm not sure exactly what time we caught those two busses, but I'm pretty sure they weren't the first to arrive. DH can be kind of pokey in the morning so I just do my best to get him out the door as soon as I can.

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

Since our trip to FL was actually 12 days and only the beginning was spent in WDW, I am somewhat late in posting about my experience. We were visiting between April 27 and May 1. COVID Protocols and Adherence: As others have said, if you are at all concerned about exposure risk it's better to...

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

We stayed at AoA April 27 - May 1. Based on what I was reading here, I thought we had maybe a 50/50 chance of being upgraded from our Little Mermaid standard room (booked the package that gave you two free park days for purchasing four nights/three days.) We did not get upgraded, but they did...

    Mask overstimulation and breaks

I am back from my trip and gradually getting back into the swing of things. As for sensory friendly masks, I found that I like the sensory friendly design from Sew Mia Studios on Etsy. The "box" design retains a pocket so that it doesn't come into contact with my mouth. They also come with a...

    Best Downtown Disney Restaurant?

As others have said, it depends on what cuisines you personally enjoy as there are a lot of good places to eat. Somehow, it has turned in to tradition that there is always a dinner at Tortilla Jo's on the first night of the vacation.

What is was like before covid

Obviously, we don't know how it look when it opens under COVID restrictions, nor after restrictions are lifted all together, but I can say that DLR feels like it just gets busier as time goes on. Even times that used to be "off season" often have special events happening.

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

When did it appear in their app relative to their arrival time at WDW? Obviously, I know not to count on it, but we will be arriving on Tuesday and booked a standard Little Mermaid room as part of the get two additional park days package.

    New glasses question

I am sure that you can always go back to the optometry office and see if the glasses need an adjustment. Even if you're between regular eye exams, part of what an optometry office does for you is assist you when issues may arise with your glasses. I've gone in for adjustments, had nose pads...

TV Shows in last 15 years that you think should not

That was the roller derby show, correct? I liked watching that.

READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

Repeating some questions from a couple days ago. Not sure if it's that no one knows or the post just wasn't really seen. Does Disney cut off letting boarding groups enter at a certain time of day, or do they try to get as many boarding groups in as possible, even if it's after official park...

    WDW vs DLR Food Comparisons

I'm a Californian and super spoiled in this regard. You think California strawberries are great from the grocery store? Well, what's even better is when there is a strawberry field near your home and you go there to purchase them directly from the farmer. I now find that grocery store...

What is the longest queue you have ever been part of?

Waiting to be let in for Disneyland's 50th birthday. (Bear that in mind, would-be attendees for MK's 50th! If the world is really open by that time, you might be looking at something similar I would think.) We set our alarms to get up at 3am, quickly showered and dressed, and then walked to DLR...

    Question for the smart people

I sometimes experience static shocks due to brushing the covers on our family room furniture as I am getting up. I won't know I was building up the static until I touch the handle of our sliding door, for example. It also might happen as the result of ruffling the fur of one of my pets.

TV Shows in last 15 years that you think should not

I really wanted to see a world in which heroes were out in the open. Yeah, that was definitely a writer's strike casualty. This was exactly what I was going to say! I would also add Wonderfalls to the list. For a while, there was this particular type of show thing going on with Bryan Fuller -...

Have TV shows become too "dark and gritty"?

I think that's part of the intent, though, isn't it? Wasn't it initially meant to be a take off on Star Trek? For a long time, I had avoided it because it seemed only Trek fans talked about it. I am a fan of SFF in general, but - GASP! - Trek is not my cuppa. It ends up it's both a funny and...

Los Angeles with Kids? Recommendations on what to do/where to stay?

Granted there are locations in places other than LA, but that part of Hollywood has Ripley's and a wax museum. It has not reopened yet, but The Hollywood Museum in the Max Factor building has lots of cool movie memorabilia in it. I also second the El Capitan. It's a beautiful restored old time...

    Favorite sounds?

Even though it's long been gone, my husband has been known to recite "Please use the self service elevators for your trip to the Rocket Jet flight deck" with the exact inflection of the recorded announcement. I think he's spent too much time standing in the same location in Tomorrowland on both...

    WDW vs DLR Food Comparisons

I think having a variety of flavored popcorns is a bigger thing at WDW than DLR.
